  1. Saving mission description in log

I usually write a little description in the Claims Report It doesn't appear immdiately in the log though Only if the claims are accepted does it show lower down, referencing Flight date, time, etc.
  2. Yes, good converation there Problem might be solvbable though A Flight and HA are Warping too Winder, any chance of modifications here?
  3. warp and enemies

Me bleury eyes are getting opened here to that little tidbit No wonder I'm always playing the pheasant role to the HA's peregrinn falcon
  4. warp and enemies

Yes, I agree on the spherical distance bit 2 dimensional example was just a more simplistic way of explaning it Airbases, buildings, etc are viewable to the full 8 miles Probably because they're larger than a little kite AC are the only TAC object that doesn't show til 4 miles
  5. Love the Tripe

Careful there Hasse Wind! A DVII career starts out with "You will be assimilated" I tried out the DVII whilst totally enamored by the Se5 Viper Tried many times to go back but the DVII is such a lovely handling crate, she just drew me back Those nano gizmo's get in yer blood Just a note on the Tripe/DR1 comparison Whether conflict, business, or any competition, it's always advantageous to have your opponent chasing your current design while you work on the next generation That way you stay 1 step ahead I believe Fokker didn't suggest a triplane but was asked to design it Time may have been better spent on it's eventual replacement
  6. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Great work on the website Gremlin! Do you have any information on the number of German only OFFer's that frequent your site? Hazard a guess on the number or percentage of Germans that won't consider OFF because of the language issue? I like Olham's idea of multiple language Quell/Source Text Multiple Language Software Menus might be a big task but a Conversion Manual might help
  7. warp and enemies

Interesting Post Bulletthead Answers some of the questions I just posted in Olham's "Outnumbered Poll" I do disagree owith the above statement though It's been my experience that Bogies pop-up at 4 mile range It's not til 2-3 miles that they seem to take increasing interest in my presence Inside of that is when attack mode is taken in ernest I've often fled superior numbers, climbed, then returned to bounce them Usually keep them at roughly 3 miles the whole time to keep an eye on 'em Anyways Warp doesn't seem to limit engagement opportunities
  8. I've been flying Fok D7's, Aug/Sept 1918 lately Usually outnumbered but not overwelmingly, 6:4 average A Flight seems to always have the same size or usually larger formation Adding to that my wingman goes on leave alot But I'm not frustrated as this is manageable Biggest problem I have is that HA almost always have a large height advantage This requires manuevering and my flight can't stay with me in the turns (hit R alot) A Flight has a big height advntage too and usually engages 1st or simply flies on So either we're clawing for altitude trying to get in the fight, or getting bounced by superior numbers I've taken to detailing A Flight's stupid decisions in my claim reports I warp a real lot so the problem isn't being on the wrong flight path (vertically) On very rare occasions our flight gets top cover assignment but usually it's far below and behind Good Poll Olham and thanks for jumping right on this Winder!
  9. Love the Tripe

Well here some news that'll make your day There is a 2 gun version of the tripe in OFF Collishaw flew it ...there were only 6 made in real life I think it's available for 1 month in 2 of the RNAS squads ...not sure of the details Enjoy, ...and you really should try the Fok DVII out
  10. Hitler Parody: Over Flanders Fields

I thought both SPR and BOB were very good Both had combat that was quite realistic and shocking IMHO the cemetary scene added alot to SPR as it showed the lasting effects But imagine if a realistic film on Verdun was made A 10 hour epic couldn't show all the horrors of that battle Just pictures of the bayonet trench bring pause
  11. Great job Matt Thanks for all your efforts
  12. FrenchLastNames.txt

Good show Creaghorn / Waldemar Kurtz! This forum is super
  13. Hi Mike, welcome to OFF Glad you're enjoying it Been quite intrigued since I saw your name on the map, Cleveland/Toledo area? You see, I sit next to a "Mike Toth" every day at lunchtime Asked him if he had a son/relative in Ohio but he said "No" Any relatives in the Danbury, CT area? Or maybe another meaning all together different? Cheers,
  14. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

I keep wondering what's going on in England??? The OFF density there is outstanding Africa, Aussie, and N & S America's distributions seems to relate to their population centers and involvement (or lack of) in WWI Europe OTOH is highly biased towards Britain If it's a language thing, then their may be many more OFFer's in France/Germany/Italy that aren't represented here Or is OFF just not reaching non-English websites? Many English speaking members (even RB players) report having no knowledge of OFF until stumbling upon it How much harder would it be for Non-English speakers to stumble upon OFF? France is especially surprizing as the war was parked in her lap for 4 years! Just some food for thought
  15. OT--Cheated Death Again

Yeah, accidents can have a very surreal feel to them I went through a period in the late 80's when I swear my vehicles were magnetic One in particular was like a carnival ride I was traveling down a minor route that crossed a local road diagonally, they had the stop sign There was a small knoll that blocked view of the road and as I approached a lady shot out on my right ...&%^@#*! Swerved hard to get around her, but there were 2 other vehicles coming head-on towards me Only chanced taking about 2 feet of their lane as a head-on would be worse Bam, the lady impacted my right rear quarter and sent me spinning CW 1st thought through my mind was 'I'm in a pinball machine' ...played alot as a kid Knowing the spin should throw me fully into the oncoming lane meant 'we're not done yet' Waiting for the 2nd impact, I watched the guard rail approach my car from the right, spin, then depart to the left ...weird stuff Getting hit off-center there was no whiplash and I just sat there watching the world spin around me Luckily the ladies in the 2 oncoming cars were brilliant and avoided me The 1st skidded her brand new car within inches of a utility pole and the 2nd inches behind her I ended up doing a 360, stalled out but sitting perfectly straight in my lane Climbing out of my li'l crumpled RX-7, the women started screaming at each other but quieted down as fast as they sparked One last check to make sure the fence wasn't moving and we waited for the cops Turned out ...it was a 3 car accident after all! All the plastic debri, metal clips, etc clattered all over her 2 week old car Yikes! you fear getting your 1st scratch and she got 100 She got a paint job and I had my RX patched up ...but the decade wasn't over yet :black eye:

Sure has been a while since we've had a teaser How about giving us a peek at one of those beauties
  17. OT--Cheated Death Again

Yep, there's Pluses and Minuses to those things I used to work in the Auto Industry making acuators for all the automated devices on cars today Detroit was asking for actuators to move the foot pedals forward & back Problem was too many people were sitting too close to the airbag As you said, it has to have room to inflate before you invade it's space They wanted the drivers to sit back and bring the pedals to them That was almost 10 years ago, but I don't know of any vehicles with this feature Course my vehicle is older than the hills so there's probably a lot of new dodad's I don't know about
  18. OT--Cheated Death Again

The same danger for pedestrians When approaching the street in the US, the tendancy is to look left Do that in Britland and you'll get a Hillman in the butt It goes both ways Winston Churchill looked the wrong way in NYC and got hit Two cracked ribs and some lacerations
  19. OT--Cheated Death Again

Yeah, an explosion 2 feet in front of your chest can be life saving eh? Good to see you slipped by that 1 bullett Enjoy the brew

Oooo, the beans are especially cool tonight Thanks Wnder, Team, you guys are amazing Just a P84 thought... Could the Bomb Sight View be modified to simulate the Aldis Sight View?
  21. Having Some Success

That's my motto too HA don't tend to dive immediately This allows a chance to made a high speed run away from the airfield, shallow climb angle Unfortunately, the wingies don't get the concept even though I encourage them with the Rejoin Command They lallygag and get bounced often I always feel it's my duty to support the wingies Usually have to turn 180 and race back the other way Speed is the key Only thing worse than getting caught low is to get caught low AND slow
  22. more german surnames

    Thanks Creaghorn!
  23. Having Some Success

Good Show Cappy! And good luck with this pilot One thing I noticed is that your flying hours seem low 8.1 hours in 23 missions averages about 21 min per mission I average a little less than an hour per mission and I warp alot A quick check of your log page shows an average of about 33 min per mission 17 hours is tough enough but not getting credit for time flown is criminal Maybe an install issue?
  24. I have both seasons too, great stuff! Thr RL fighter jocks teach you the art of dogfighting I related a death spiral scrap with a Camel yesterday Without the Dogfights lessons, I wouldn't have known to swing wide to get behind him The WWI stuff is great, but I always felt the best lessons were the F4 Phantom vs. Mig 17-21 shows
  25. Current Status - Super Patch
