UK, great screenie! Hs a surealistic feel to her -
Not sure if this has been posted before Nice video with a Dr1, DVII, DVa, and a Spad Interesting to see the different flight characteristics The Spad driver doesn't seem too anxious to yank her over too tight ...I don't blame him

Rhinebeck would make a great vacation stop over One of my fondest memories was a flyride in a 1929 Standard Biplane there

That looked like fun Thanks for posting wf2 -
Great point My dad has a WWI DVD series that gave great insights on the not so commonly known aspects of WWI It showed water pipes being pulled up in towns so they could get the lead for bullets Gives insights into the effect of the British blockade and the troubles on the German homefront

Joystick made a big difference for me When I was flying a Saitek X52 Pro (non FFB), I broke wings quite often MS Sidewinder has strong FFB and I rarely break a wing now

I once passed on the ground attack missions

Don't forget the bombs too We who fly the Hun scouts have no option but to go down and pound it out I'm getting to be an expert at limping back over my lines and wobbling into a field somewhere -

No criticism here Rabu I think efforts to increase sales are great and you have been a leader here My point is that I think efforts towards the internet will be far more productive Place our resources where they'll get the most bang for the buck I'd be willing to bet that 99% of us found out about OFF through the net ...I did The net has forums, websites, etc. exclusively dedicated to simmers Like trout in a northern stream ...we just need the right bait -

Posters are great looking but I don't think they'll increase OFF sales much Problem is Posters are static and don't covey the exhilaration and intensity that is BH&H Posters can only go as far as our local travels I've talked to many people but have never interested anyone in OFF Even simmers give me a squirrely face when I mention WWI Don't think we'll have much success if we try to bring simmers to OFF Best idea is to bring OFF where the simmers are OFF will sell itself if we can get the word out Only people I know that have the simming world at their fingertips are the website/magazine reviewers Who are these people? What are the most the most prominent websites? What are their email addresses? Let's bombard them with requests, videos, etc. until they start reviewing OFF We won't be able to make T-Shirts fast enough then! -
Flew a front line patrol mission today Watched about 8 Spad 13's bounce our lead flight of 4 D7's Seemed like it took forever but we caught up and joined in the fray Bagged 4 of the Frenchmen then we formed up and headed for home Lost 1 from our flight but my WM Viktor Stemmler and our flightmate Hans-Werner Schiering made an uneventful return On approach I dropped down and landed while they flew on On a hunch, I selected Player Target View and watched their flight They went out of range (>4 mi) but to my surprize turned 180 and headed back Realizing that they were going to land, I refired my mill and parked her next to a hanger They made a low approach over the top of the hangers and touched down Beautiful, great immersion ...til the #2 ran into #1 and they both went up in ball of flame! Oh well, maybe next time We'll drink to their memories in the canteen tonight :drinks_drunk:

OFF P4 - Addon Paks. OFF will continue....
Duce Lewis replied to Winder's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks Winder, that's music to my ears! -
Yes, I agree here So many what if's What if MVR didn't get as good pilots when he started out as a Tail Gunner What if he was assigned TG on Be2's facing Albatross DI & II's What if he was posted to a DH2 squad during bloody April In general "the cream rises to the top" Most of the great aces would have done well if they were on the other side But some no doubt would have suffered an entirely different fate

OT Your top 3 aircraft of all time?
Duce Lewis replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
#1 Easy - Spitfire Mk IX, the most voluptuous aircraft ever designed #2 Easy - P51D Mustang, Beautiful too, but in an angular sort of way #3 Tough - Nieuport 28, F86, B17F, F16, take your pick -
P3 Current Status and the future of OFF
Duce Lewis replied to Winder's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Wow, I go away for a couple days and miss out on his thread Winder, just want to say thanks for the update and I'll buy whatever packages you and the Team offer us Quality of the product is guranteed by past performance As far as increasing OFF sales, I like 2 ideas posted here: 1) Package OFF with cfs3 2) Use on-line sellers like Amazon If I might add to these: 3) Only use sellers that already offer cfs3 (OBD won't need to purchase cfs3 copies) 4) Offer a discount if both sims are bought together, cfs3 @ 1/2 price 5) Include an OFF video link on the sales page (OFF sells itself) Cheers ...3 of them for the OFF Team, -
Have you ever seen your '6' in the mirror?
Duce Lewis replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
There's nothing there It was a nice feature when they added the mirrors But the Devs said they won't really function as such, scenery only TrackIR is the only way to go -
What do you play most? QC or Campaign mode?
Duce Lewis replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Campaign 98% of the time Only in Campaign do you get that immersive feel of being a squadron member with important missions to carry out Missions Briefings have real tension, worrying wil he flight be big enough, how deep behind enemy lines, etc. I fly QC if I have a hankering for a furball against a particular opponent I haven't seen for a while -
TP, Do you have any other hardware installed? Sometimes a keystroke for said hardware may also be a hotkey for another (Padlock for example) HTH,

Planes:Exploding, or Flamming?
Duce Lewis replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
40's I agree wholeheartedly ...have from the beginning In Post #23 I concluded it wasn't the most common way to die Don't know about the actual percentage vs OFF You'd need to look up the stats for that ...if they exist Cheers, -
Yeah, rockets can be fun To get a break from campaign in P2, I used to load a Noop with rockets and go hunting Albatrii in QC The upgrade info is all available in the download section of the OFF site Here's a link to the full report http://www.overflandersfields.com/ReleaseNotes.htm Cheers,

Planes:Exploding, or Flamming?
Duce Lewis replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
History says otherwise: Kennedy's wizkids gave us the F111, the plane that was supposed to do everything and ended not much good at anything Carter cancelled everything including training funds, and our boys suffered for it when hey tried to save the hostages Reagan funded everything including his pet project ,Star Wars Missle Defense, that drank up money Clinton was a defense cutter but sorry, I can't remember exactly where Only difference between Obama and the rest is that his party has firm control of both houses Obama's cuts will therefore be much deeper ...at least for the 1st 2 years Finally something we can agree on Any wartime leader worth his salt will weigh the odds of success/failure of any new system They'd compare the risk of performance decrease of the added weigh vs the lives of trained pilots saved If their Air Service was burning up before their eyes (planes and pilots) they certainly would have given the chute top priority -
Planes:Exploding, or Flamming?
Duce Lewis replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Nothing comes between a politician and their control of the money! Generals may ask but it's the politicos that make the final decisions Do you think the Generals are asking Obama to cancel the F22? That takes a politician with an agenda different from the 1 that ordered it Some of these fools don't even know what they're voting for ...but as long as it's going to their cronies Look, we're getting way off topic here It could easily have been done It probbly should have been done But my point has always been, if flamers had been killing off pilots left and right, it definately would have been given a much higher priority than it was Nuff Said
