A few more ideas: 1. Enable wingmen to follow the player in a climb steeper than 10o 2. Set the airfield turf to match the local area This is especially apparent at the front where airbases stand out as green postage stamps amidst the mud Replacing the pristiine trees here with some broken stumps would be nice too 3. Have Ack Ack guns stop firing at planes in aerial combat I think this was common practice at the time And I have been blown outta the sky many times by friendly fire ...but never seen the adversary in front of me get hit This doesn't apply to MG's just the Archie fire

12'O, I'm not sure if that's scripted play rather than an AI issue Attack AI has always been more problematic in OFF Click "A" to send yor wingies to attack a ground target and they'll all fly off then return 2 min later in pairs In cfs3, flights are either programmed as Fighter or Bomber and, in game, each will behave very differently Bombers AI was designed around WWII heavies flying in formation and slugging it out ...like your Albs did Bullethead addressed this issue a while back when his Fee wingies were flying bomber like Setting them as Fighter Bombers helped quite a bit IIRC Cracking the cfs3 code is fairly new, started in P3 Maybe the Devs will have some better Bomber AI for P4

Here's a idea that would add some drama to the sim Concerning pilots shot down behind enmy lines or injured in combat Instead of an immediate resolution and time advance, simply report 1 of the following: 1) Your pilot has been wounded and rushed to the hospital 2) Your pilot has been shot down behind enemy lines, situation unknown Next sync the time with the computers Date/Time and let the player wait a few days for imformation ex. If the pilot is injured for 21 days, then in real time he couldn't fly for a week Roughly 1/3 so it's not too brutal a wait There could be a lot of variability in the outcomes Injured: Died in surgery Released early Injury too severe to continue operations ... posted back to training Escaped from the hospital and rejoined his M8's early Miraculous recovery Recovering normally then stricken with a mastoid infection so outcome is delayed further Behind enemy lines: Escaped after a few days Taken prisoner Died in crash Shot while escaping Player would have to enlist and fly a different pilot while he waits for news

HPW, MS probably designed a set method for creating FM's There are likely more independent Base Values Then those that interact for tweaking I think MS released an SDK foe modders of cfs3 Maybe there's some recommended methodology there Dropping a line in a cfs3 forum might get us some good recommendations too I'd really like to create some mods myself too But unfortunately, I'll be very tied up for the next couple weeks Memorial Day is approaching (May 31st) and my Dad and I have to prepare to place flags on veteran's graves I'm sure I'll manage to get some testing time in ...but please be patient with me if I take a little time to respond But I promise I'll get back

HPW, Sorry for not getting back sooner I was away a bit I took the N.28 up for a test and observed the following Acceleration is better She'll manuever better too, due to reduced drag At 5k feet: I could perform a barrel roll but it was slow and a little sloppy She'll loop about the same but after 3 loops the upper wing failed I tried a tight turn , laying her on her side and pulling with elevators ...but the upper wing failed again Nose down brings better performance At 10k feet: Barrel rolls are very sluggish and not worth the effort Loops bring a stall and roll off at the top Biggest improvement was in climb (though I didn't try climbing her before the mod) I could pull the nose up 30o and she'll still climb OK Testing brought forth a few observations/suggestions: 1. I was able to fly OFF QC but it was necessary to create a USA Pilot with a Spad 13 as default A/C 2. Testing will be better and more accurate if we create a standard test routine Altitudes, Manuevers, Climd, Dive, etc. 3. Documenting FM Mods and Testing in txt files would secure data Cheers,
