  1. I cant remember now what was the case with this ace, but we made different scheme´s for aces and jasta skins. The lineup of a/c´s was often different versions. Some had older green/mauve wings and some lozenge even for same model. Also other point is we have only 2 slot for use, so example often there was same time aces flying dv´s and dva´s so the markings like wing scheme´s could simulate the variation when example the aces flying dva´s and player dv´s. Cheers Arto
  2. I watch just ver good documentary film. The text´s and some speeches are in Finnish, but its BBC´s quality documentary of brit aces like McCudden brothers, Mannock. There is their letters and death explained ver well. Also the latest theory where the Mannock could be buried. http://areena.yle.fi/video/801489
  3. Thanks Creaghorn. I was sure there was also all english version somewhere.

  8. £1m Question for The OBD skinners

Well the skins improved by time but i remember few my favorite: Albatros D.V/D.Va: off_Alb_DVa_Ace_t_Jasta 40 1918_Helmut_Dilthey. - This was one of the first versions i made. Actually introduced my work with this to OBD group. off_Alb_DV_later_Ace_t_MFJ I 1917_Friedrich von_Gotz. - With Gotz´s alb i did with Shredward quite much research. There is only few old Black & white photos of a/c but no color profiles made before. off_Alb_DV_later_Ace_t_Jasta 5 1917_Fritz_Rumey - One of the challenging skin i did. Also there is not much material of this a/c available. off_Alb_DV_later_Ace_t_Jasta 15 1917_Kurt_Monnington - One of the coolest. The skull is painted over original photo. off_Alb_DV_later_Ace_t_Jasta 5 1917_Richard_Flashar - Very nice skin. Also i painted the dragon from the original black & white photo. Spad Vii: off_spadVII_ace_t_23 RFC 1917_Clive Wilson_Warman off_spadVII_ace_t_Esc 48 1917_Armand Jean Galliot Joseph_de Turenne off_spadVII_ace_t_Esc 78 1917_Armand_Pinsard

Yes, i have been studied little bit the german uniforms. When officers and NCO´s come from their earlier regiments, there were variations of the uniforms in air service. Cavalry tunics like MvR used, or 2 brested uniforms that v. Althaus use in sanke card. Also Uhlan´s tunic that example von Bülow-Bothkampf seen wear. Officers and NCO´s used officers caps. There were also 2 versions of caps. Cheers Arto
  18. Great Old Sanke Card Image

I checked the uniform versions and the visible brested officers older version was M1910 and the version where buttons are hided is M1915. Cheers Arto
  19. Great Old Sanke Card Image

I think the uniform with this kind of hided buttons is later model, and the early version got buttons visible. Like in army useally, there was used different versions of univorms and i dont think that the later model replaced the older versions. Cheers Arto
  20. ID this Wappen

hmm... just guessing, but Grand Duchy of Baden had red/gold colors in flag and medals. Baden used also red/yellow cockades. So our guy probably is from Baden...
  21. VEry nice and detailled DV skin. Yeah i see the similary details that is May´s replica dv from vintage aviator. Actually that a/c impressed me quite much too. Could affect future reworked dv´s and dva´s.
  22. Yes spitfire is quite good. Hasse you find it also from Finland some bigger markets. Cheers Arto
  23. To me skinning makes feel like collecting some stuff. Always when i finish one skin ithought there is one more to collection. Hopefully never got everything done :) other wise it feels i have start do something else. I feel exited all the time when i see new pictures of aircrafts in skinning. I will make a skin of every possible photo if the a/c can be used in game. Other thing is to see old photos of aces and other pilots. It other thing what i kind of collect. But yes its passion and hobby. How else can we do this all the time :D lol
