  1. Dont get the error any more  .... but it referred to

    CScript Error

Cant find script engine "VBScript" for script Y:\Flight\OFF\Office\temp\OFFgetreg.vbs (or something like that) and it appeared in a black dos box.

What you said about Virus killers seems about right.

I had Kaspersky 2012 installed and when the license ended I decided to try Esets Internet security for a 3 month trial version.

It seems that a lot of the script errors are caused by Virus killers that are no longer there even if the registry says the remnants of the program have gone.

There's a whole host of people out there that cant install new Nvidia drivers right now. They will mostly be people who have recently changed their Virus Killers/Internet

Security package I bet, and don't yet know about this fix!

They definitely seem to muck up some peoples PC's when they are uninstalled.

When I was googling for the fix I found it by looking for the Nvidia error code 2738 which also just happens to be a VBScript error and it led me to the link of the website that I posted a couple of posts ago.

Anyway, I've just tried your OFFICE program again and it fires up just fine now so thank you very much for making this.

Rest assured that it is much appreciated.

    Cheers bud!.

  2. FAO anyone who gets problems starting this program up because of the VBScript errors.

As I posted a while back I was having problems with this program for some reason and I thought I had fixed it but the problem kept re-occuring. The game worked fine but not OFFICE.

I kept getting the little blue box that was stuck and a Dos box saying I had a VBScript error

I was on the verge of binning OFFICE but seeing as it was not what I really wanted to do because I really appreciate stuff made for the community like this, so I had a final go at solving my problem.

My problems have finally sorted (touch wood) with the attached Virtual Script fix file that I found on the Windows 7 forums (post #4 by Neutron)

Hope this helps anyone who may have a problem starting OFFICE up. :big_boss:

PS/..... This little beauty of a fix has even sorted the problems I was having with recent NVidia PhysX drivers not installing properly.

  3. The Eset is beta but it is a Release Candidate version. Its worked fine so far Will probably go back to Kaspersky when trial runs out though.

I'm pretty sure its my Windows Media thatss screwed up.

    Cheers....

    UPDATE....

    OFFice Manager now working fine.

I fixed it by using the Microsoft Fix It tool and typing in Windows Media Player, very good it is to for sorting out most problems with your PC

There were 4 errors with WMP, one of them was the VBScript.

    Gerrin' there!

  4. Mmmmmm, two things to report here.

I've recently installed the beta version of Eset Security 6as my security system as my Kaspersky Internet Security ran out so I thought I'd try something different so that might have something to do with it.

Also, I've tried to play a video with Windows Media Player and a window pops up saying name of clip (blah blah blah) Server execution failed.

    (I think were onto something here - I'm very quick aren't I? )

Wont be able to try and sort this for a few days but I'll let you know when I do get it sorted. I think I need to get Windows Media Player removed and re-installed properly.

Hopefully that might do the trick.

Once again, thanks for the briliant help. The OFF community really is the biz!

    *big thumbs up*

  5. First of all thanks for the mega quick replies. It is much appreciated.

JSGE mod Enabler v2.6.0.157 is installed, Bletchley 1917 and other mods enabled

Windows 7 and service packs are fully up to date.

Everything is fine (except for OFFice)

When I click on the OFF icon after Office is installed I get a window tthat comes up saying

    "OFF Manager

Failed to load "WindowsMediaPlayer" from wmp.dll.Your version of wmp.dllmay be outdated.

Make sure you are using the Version of the Control that was using the control that was providded with your application"

This is a bit odd because Windows Media Player is up to date and working perfectly on my PC.

If I click on the OFFSET ICON I get the OFF Manager Loading and Configuration window appear but then nothing happens.

It just says loading but then thats it, nothing else happens.

When I hit the Enter button, I then get the REBOL 3 Alpha black dos box which says at the bottom -

    CScript Error

Cant find script engine "VBScript" for script Y:\Flight\OFF\Office\temp\OFFgetreg.vbs

If I click the OFFBASE ICON, I just the config screen saying loading and again nothing happens

I have tried uninstalling the sim and reinstalling it again including Hat In The Ring and latest updates, but the OFFice Manager is still the same.

I have also tried reinstalling Windows Media Player but it said everything was working OK.

I have also read the OFFice reading but not notice anything that my sort my problem,

Something must be missing from my PC that is causing this problem methinks.

I can get the sim running, just not through the OFF Manager application.

    Cheers....

  6. Lifting paint tins into the house today, and my back gave out with a sharp pain, that put me squarely on the floor!

My Lovely Collie saved the day though...as I was wriggling about in severe discomfort..she came bounding over, licking me all over, and crying (as dogs do)....then she sat down, and let me use her body to lever myself upright...and escorted me into the house!

My little Black and White hero!!

    * sniffles *

  7. My guess is that Microsoft would make more money from the PC community selling an Autogen fix for FSX than they will by selling the Hawaii DLC for Flight.

In my view, Flight will not interest most PC flight simmers in the long term and is really an X Box product but I stil have my doubts if Flight will interest the xbox crowd for long either.

After all, Xbox and PS3 fans are not known for their love of the sim genre are they?

    "crashtastic" indeedy!

  8. Video looks fantastic., positively oozing with atmosphere.

Have you been able to upgrade the rain effects at all, such as raindrops spattering on your visor instead of the horrible lines you had on the Phase 3 that passed off as rain. (not being funny, but that was basically my only disappointment with Phase 3 by the way!)

Looking forward to buying this nevertheless.
