No, it's correct. The N24 had a round fuse. All the Bis versions were like cross-overs of the different Noop variations between the N17 and N24 types. OvS

The Orion Project will be a great step forward for NASA and getting back to the Moon and beyond. I saw all the highlights and models at the KSC last year. It seems like an old idea, but it's one that worked and will work again. There really is no other way to get us to the Moon and return. We can't land a glider on the moon until we build a runway. So for the next 30 years, I hope I see it... let's get back there again! But knowing the lack of support NASA has from the Dems.... who knows...

Welcome Pappa Goat... I'll make it short and to the point... 1. No. Only if one jams like Siggi said. 2. Plenty. They are marching, fighting in trenches, standing the the woods with sniper rifles, at the aerodromes, etc. Yes, they do fire at you and if you stay low over the trenches, you WILL die. 3. Yes, totally independent. Your rear gunner will work hard to cover your behind, and he can be killed. But by then, you're probably on fire and going down anyway. There are little things that we can't/couldn't do... not many of them, but a few. BUT the deep immersion factor and the huge amount of historical information and beautiful high/low level scenery graphics more than makes up for not being able to shoot individual MG's. Jump in! The water is great! OvS

Just another lame Computer Geek here working for Her Majesty's favorite airline based at JFK. I originally was an Engineer based at EWR (Newark, NJ... cesspool of the United States), but I had had enough of the Commercial Airline Maintenance business. So I took a transfer back to JFK, and swapped departments. It's boring... period. Other than that, OFF is my 2nd job and that's a lot of fun. My 3rd job, well really my 1st job, is being a Dad as I am the Cook, the Caretaker, the Dean (I have no paitence for teaching), Coach, Music Teacher, Judge, etc.. etc.. etc.. and I love it. My other other job is to support the local economy in Mt. Washington, Kentucky as I buy more and more parts for my other other other job which is restoring my 66 Nova Wagon. OvS

Largest Great White caught off of Montauk Point, Long Island, NY was around 25-26 feet long. They do get to be that big up here, so I don't know what the hub-bub is. Although I wouldn't want to face one at all... no matter what size they are. This looks like a larger Great White tagging a juvenile. It does happen now and then. OvS

Although this is totally true with OFF, and you can 'turn-off' the trottle from 10 to 100% to compensate... the new Fokker E.V will sound more like a Rotary should. I was able to tweak the sound curves tight enough so that it goes from one stage to the other without any fading. What that means is at 100% throttle, you're full out, at about 80% you'll beging to blip at 3/4 ignition... and so on. It actally sounds like a the ignition is clipping the motor... then the further down you go, the less smooth the engine runs. So now you'll get the high... cough.. cough... run-up to high.. high... cough... run-up to high.. high..... choppy... choppy... run-up to high.. etc. OvS

I'd love to get back on with you guys, maybe in the near future. Knowing I can fly my old 'Black Knight' Dr.1 again would be great! OvS

Skinning in OFF... remember to give credit
OvS posted a topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
Hello Gents, Recently it was discovered that an OFF Community member created a very large slew of very nice skins for use in OFF (well... most of them won't work other than using them as personal skins) however, there was no mention of using our original base skins, where the original artwork came from, or who the original artist was. We know many of you like to be personal or creative and offer great skins for download, which is absolutely fine, but please remember the source of the skin may not have been your own to start with. By no means should you feel you are not allowed to create your own skins, you can, we encourage it, but at the minimum, mention the source should you use one of our skins as a base skin in a simple readme file included with the skin you are offering for download. Our artwork takes months to create, perfect, align, test...etc, so that you are given a high-quality, and enjoyable product. At the very minimum, it's the least you can do. We do have copyrights on everything we do, so all we ask in return is proper credit to where it originated from.... even if you rework the entire template... the template is still property of the original artist. Thanks for your understanding, and we do appreciate the dedication and drive to be personal. Keep it going! Hopefully, with the possibility of having your own personal skin selectable looming in our future as mentioned, we're looking forward to seeing all the wonderful ideas and imaginative artwork you guys will come up with. All the best, OvS -
http://channel.natio...k/4577/Overview This instalment of National Geographic's "Expedition Week" will feature OBD Software's very own Terry Kerby, aka... Makai. The show is scheduled to air on November 17. In real-life, Terry is one of the worlds select few that have the ultimate job (well for Terry… pleasure) of piloting two deep-sea submersible craft, named the Pieces IV and V. Unlike a fighter pilot of WWI, Terry's job takes him anywhere from 1000-6000 feet under the sea to places very few men have seen, or will ever see. It is a true display of serenity and beauty that Terry can only repeat to the world with an underwater video camera, photographs and his own paintings... http://www.soest.haw...erry_Kerby.html We are proud to have him as an OFF Community member, a member of the OBD Software crew and no doubt a true stalwart to man's success in exploration and science. We once landed on the Moon, some 40 years ago, and have not been back since. Man’s physical exploration of the Moon stopped, however, the exploration of our planet continues at the highest heights, and the deepest depths. Terry is there on the cutting edge. Please take off from whatever you are doing the night of November 17, and watch this program. Check your local listings for exact times, or stop by the National Geographic website for more info on the program. http://channel.natio...k/4577/Overview The show will be concentrating on the 2 400ft I-Class Japanese WWII submarines. http://www.soest.haw...HURL/I-401.html http://en.wikipedia....submarine_I-401 From what I gather from Terry and the preview clips on the website, it looks like Nat Geo took a lot of time and effort into putting together a very well documented and detailed presentation, with computer graphics, interviews, facts, and vintage footage. As is normally expected with anything Nat Geo does. Not only did Terry's HURL team discover 1 of them, but they were credited with finding the twin of the 401, and also quite a few other WWII type ships, as well as all 5 of the 2-man Japanese Midget Subs off the coastal waterways of Pearl Harbor... http://www.encyclope...8300635812.html Again, it's an opportunity for all of us to step into Terry's life for a day, and see what he sees, live like he lives for the time the show airs. No doubt the appetite we all have for history will be well satisfied by the show, but I'm looking forward to seeing my good friend in action. All the best, OvS

CJ, if you have cable, you can order it for the month, or the date. I am doing that as I don't have it as well. I wonder if Nat Geo will put it out on DVD for us to buy. I see plenty of their shows on DVD's, usually in gift shops to the museums, and on the I-net. Hey Wels, do you think you would mind copying my thread and posting it on the the Subsim.com forum? I think a lot of guys over there would really get a thrill out of seeing this program. If anyone would like to repost my thread... please do. Post it anywhere you like, get the word out to anyone interested in WWII subs, marine nostalgia, undersea adventuring, etc. Should be a good one for all. I love Nat Geo's shows, they're always so detailed. Shame they took it out of the basic Cable package. OvS -
Chicken Unknown Well it does have a real name, but I have no idea what it is, so I renamed it about 20 years ago... This recipe is VERY flexible... Need: 1 glass casserole pan 1 Baking pan about 1/2 cup of Corn Oil, or Olive Oil, whichever you prefer... Olive is better for you. 1 Egg Milk 4C bread crumbs 2 Cans of Cambell's Cream of Mushroom soup 1 Bag of Frozen breaded Swanson (or any Store brand) Onion Rings 1 package of American cheese, yellow for looks as white looks like glue when it's melted. They taste the same. Boneless Chicken breasts... as many as you like. Depending on the size of the pan. For the average pan, I use about 1 lb, sometimes more. Just make sure the bottom of the pan is very full. 1 package of frozen Broccoli cuts. do not use full pieces, they must be cut up. OK.. easy peezy.... Before you do anything... take out the baking pan, and dump the oil in it... preheat the oven for 350 deg. 1. Cut up the Chicken breasts into pieces using a knife or better a meat scissor. 2. Mix the egg and milk into a bowl, any consistency does good.... it's only for dipping and breading. 3. Take a hand-full of chicken and toss it into the bowl, making sure each piece is covered with the mix of milk and egg. 4. Take the 4C breadcrumbs and using a regular dish, pour some into a pile. Drop each piece into the pile and bread them, pushing lightly and flipping them around so they are all covered in bread crumbs. 5. Put each piece of breaded chicken into the baking pan, and bake for about 10 min... flip.. 10 min more, or until cooked real good. Piece will shrink, and begin to get crunch... stop there, as you want them juice still.. but cooked. 6. Take them out of the pan, place them in a dish over paper towels to drain the extra oil. Eat a few as they are the BEST chicken nuggets you will ever taste!!! :) 6a. While you are doing this... boil the broccoli in water to thaw it out. You don't have to use the whole package... just a two handfuls, or enough that you like. 7. OK... take the drained pieces, and dump them into the casserole pan 8. Drain the cooked broccli, dump that into the pan 9. Open the two cans of Soup... dump that it. Fill one halfway with milk... and mix it in. It might be easier to dump both into a sauce pan and heat them up to thin them out. Point is to make a sauce, and NOT soup. So it can be a little loose, but not milky. 10. Dump that in... 11. Cover the whole pan with the American Cheese 12. Cover the cheese with the Frozen Onion rings 13. Toss it in the oven for about 1/2 hour.... maybe more... maybe less. When you see it bubbling from the sides... and the cheese is burnt on the edges.. it's done. 14. Serve... caution... IT'S VERY HOT!!! 15. Call Ambulance as you are sure to eat more than you need to... this sounds like a crazy mix, but MAN IT'S DAMN GOOD. I have served this a million times over the past 20 years and not one person said they didn't like it. It has something for everyone. Enjoy!! OvS

Recently my wife and I FINALLY decided to put some money into our house and have it renovated (well... new siding, door, window, roof). So we go and buy this really nice ThermaTrue door, which has a fiberglass veneer. It's time to stain it, and to do fiberglass, you have to use Gel Stain... never tried it, in fact, I have little experience with staining as all moldings and doors in my house I painted white... so off I go.. staining. Well... what I am used to, is NOTHING like this Gel Stain. It's like brushing creamed Honey. It's sticky as hell, gums up in 2 strokes... looks overlapped as hell... on and on and on... and I'm cursing like hell, panicking as this is a $3K door here!!! Neighbors are looking out the windows at me... I'm ready to go ballistic... I mean this door and the side windows are looking REALLY BAD!!! It looks like it was sanded and painted over in two different shades of brown. Streaks... unbalanced... the works... real amatureish.. like an old faded door. Finally, after arguing with my wife about how I just screwed it all up... wasted all our money... I'm a jerk.. should have paid to have it done... I walk away totally pissed off... I walk by the ThermaTrue door catalouge on the table, look down at it... low and behold there is my door.. and it looks exactly the same as the finish on my door. It's actually supposed to look like this. Now I love it. It does look pretty cool. Go figure. OvS

OK, ok... I'll spill the beans.. what the heck, you guys deserve to know anyway... So here is the list of crates in the upcoming plane add-on. We added a few to be sure we had plenty to offer... < Fill in whatever you like here > .... and that's it. We think this will help compliment both sides of the fence. So... did you REALLY think I was going to give it up that easy... caught ya... hook, line and sinker! LOL! OvS -

Funny you say that... Terry is the furthest thing from what you would imagine his personality would be, considering what he's done, and how 'famous' he is. When you visit a museum, see pictures of him there and see a huge display dedicated to him, then go to his house for some out-of-this world home-made Cesar Salad and Thai-peanut butter chicken... it just dawns on you that it's the way it should be. Life is fun... enjoy it whenever you can. OvS -

British, Start with something simple... the Dorand AR-1, the Avitik C-1, the Big Ack... or even a Pfalz E.III Just don't take on anything that will dominate you. Lot's of guys do this and get overwhelmed by it. Good luck and post shots! OvS -
I just heard on the news that the FAA is now opening an investigation on this incident. Not sure for what, but they are. So this sub-idiot is now looking at every facet of the US Law enforcement crawling up his a$$ with a microscope looking for answers on this. It makes me sick that this is what some of us have resorted to... I WANT MY REALITY TV SHOW!!!! All this is is a very badly concocted script to a poor publicity stunt gone totally wrong played out by two very stupid parents that were once very bad actors. I don't see how these two should be allowed to raise kids... which brings up a funny question... This happened when... on a Thursday? All three kids were home? Who's schooling the children? Oh, yeah... they must HOME SCHOOL... another great idea for parents that are completely off the wall. I've heard this quote a million times... "We home-school because we do not want our children being exposed to the government backed, brain washing that the public/private school sectors offer". OK... and this is better for them. A real healthy environment for them at home. Dad's a total psycho, Mom is completely aloof... great roll models. I hope the parents have to pay for all of this, I just feel sorry for the kids. OvS

Man.... I can WAIT to see the Women's Beach Volleyball competitions!!!! RIO! Awesome choice. Obama thinking Chi-town was a good candidate was purely politically driven. I think San Diego, would have been a better offering from the USA. Heck, even Miami would have been nicer. OvS

Skinning in OFF... remember to give credit
OvS replied to OvS's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
Good question Wid, If the skin has the artists name on it, use it, and give mention to OBD Software... if no name, then just that the 'artist' and OBD Software. Some of the earlier skins Makai and I did we did not include our names. But as we moved on, we did. All the best, OvS -
Gents, If anyone can help me, or point me in the right direction, it be most appreciated. I am making yet another 'Hitler Parody' for the OFF Community. I own Downfall, so I can play with it all I want for kicks. I have ripped it, but I can't seem to remove the subtitles in anything I try to use. DVDFab, Shrink.... nothing works. Has anyone had any success in doing this with Downfall? I see them all the time on youtube without subtitles. Thanks, OvS
