Yes indeed. Not posting here often does not mean we will not support you in any way possible.

I totally agree. You have to have a point of straight aim if you don't see tracers. The tube is one way, the ring and bead alignment is another. I've seen that with Track IR I can align my sight quicker with the Aldis, than to bring the ring and bead of the iron sight in alighnement. First you have to see straight and then you can calculate any deflection needed. But then again I do fly the SE5a more that the others and quite got used to it.

We share very similar dreams OvS. I'd prefer an amphibian myself, goes everywhere. It's just that bureaucracy and costs in this country can kill such dreams very easily. First stop the PPL, then we'll see. I can't wait to take my girls up for a ride over our house and the nearby islands of the Saronic gulf.

Well, it's never too late. I have a friend who is finishing now and he is 50, a family man. If you can afford it then the thing you need most is family support, which I'm lucky to have. Yes, I do have FSX with a lot of bells and whistles (addons) and love it. I always do the nav practice on FSX, throwing in some weather as well before the real thing.

Oh I've been around OvS just did not post much. Thanks for asking. To be honest I haven't fired up OFF for some time now mainly due to the fact that if I do I would have to spend some considerable time on it to give it justice. My free time is devoted to studying for the PPL written exams which I have wrongly postponed so far. I have now exceeded the 30 hour flight time mark with 8 solo flights and I need to focus if I ever wish to finish. Getting ready for my long range navigation flights too. Hey, now that I think about it, perhaps OFF is good practice on that . Now on with the thread subject.

A good plan.

Winder, I don't have ROF but maybe Nhancer can manage to apply the level of AA you are seeking better than Nvidia control panel. It works very well in OFF and FSX for me.

If you are seriously into space and physics the best free space simulator has to be "orbiter". You can find it here: http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/ No laser guns and no fighting though. Kinda like the FS of space. But there is a lot more science involved so I did not have the courage to get involved. There seems to be a community with lots of addons though.

I admit to not contributing much to this forum for quite some time, although I loosely follow it. This thread is a good chance to add a comment. It is great to see a P4 being though of. All the comments so far have covered most if not all of the SP/campaign aspects. Is there any possibility in improving the only really weak point of this sim, the MP performance? I guess though that the CFS3 legacy is where any such effort will stumble upon. More fluid and bug free MP play would really boost up OFF imho.

Thanks for the answer Olham! Although I'm an engineer, I find language and language structure a fascinating subject. I only did two years of German language courses in the Goethe Institut in Athens. Unfortunately I did not put it in use and most of it is gone now. But some things stay I guess.

I guess it is like that in every language but English. Nouns are either masculine feminine or neutral. The thing that is different in every language is the definition of the gene. For example I could never understand why it should be "das fraulein" for something naturally feminin, but I guess the overall culture and perception of things come into play. Like Der Zug and Der Wagen (masculin trains and cars while in Greek most machines are neutral) Back to topic: I'm glad you're enjoying your albatross Olham. Did you try any of the kinky stuff shown here?: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=40453

This month's "Aeroplane" magazine carries an exclusive feature on Peter Jackson's Fee replica. The cover page and centerfold have air to air shots of the Fee dogfighting a Dr1 and the Blue Max Pfalz. The shot with the Pfalz will just take your breath away as the gunner is standing and maning the aft gun aiming at the Pfalz which in turn emmits fake smoke simulating a hit in the engine. Pilot and observer are wearing authentic clothing and their looks are just astonishing. Worth buying just for these photos. Check the cover page on the magazine's site here: http://www.aeroplanemonthly.co.uk/current/ I would love to post the shots for you but I guess it would be a copyright breach. It seems the Fee is powered by an original Beardmore engine  .

Thanks to Red dog for providing the basic link of the vintage aviator site. There is a link there with a video of the flight although the magic moment with the Pfalz trailing smoke is not included. The video is just outstanding: http://thevintageaviator.co.nz/projects/fe...lying-masterton A lot of the feature pics are included here: http://thevintageaviator.co.nz/projects/fe-2b/flying-fe-2b

Get the VE and you'll be very close to what TIR4 has to offer, just slighly lower field of view of the tracker and resolution/FPS. I use TIR3 pro with VE with no problems whatsoever. I don't think you'll need to spend your good money on TIR4.

Rudder advice requested from the REAL pilots
Dimus replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I came late into this thread Olham. I assume that you followed Aussie's advice and checked the "mine" file to see that the rudders are not assigned to anything other that yaw control. This is was my issue when I first used the Saiteks. I agree with Creaghorn, it is much harder to aim with your feet, but the general handling is much more realistic with the pedals. It takes practice to coordinate your moves but you'll get there fast. Comparing with real life feel I have come to the conclusion that it is best to have the friction adjustment of the Saiteks at the tightest level. Enjoy your new toy. -
Good to see you managed to build it and got it working!!! I'm sure you're enjoying the freedom of view.

Funny you mentioned that Olham. I invited the wife to watch it promising her that there was romance with a nurce involved. She left at about half way through.

A 386SX running at a staggering 20Mhz (most of the others run at 16Mhz ) was my 1st PC in 1988. I used to run the first Sierra's Red Baron on it (in addition to Aces of the Pacific and A-10 Warthog) I sure had lots of fun, with lots of imagination needed.

I just want to say a big "Thank You Sir" for the brilliant piece of music that has so fittingly accompanied us during our virtual adventures in the air of WW1 battlefields all these years. It is an honour to have you here!

And a warm greeting from myself as well! Good to see all the good people here as well as several Boys of 60 members.
