Even virtually some things won't change

nevermind. he'll get no problems. yesterday i collided at a head on pass with a nieuport. when the CO learned about the loss of daniel richter, he tossed the report about this incident into the trashcan, for the sake of keeping the good spirit in the jasta. -
Which is the best machine and time to start with in campaign as a newbie
Creaghorn replied to OHO's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
hi OHO, welcome to the forum. i would suggest to start mid 1916 for the allies. they have nieuports and germany has only the outclassed eindeckers. -
congrats carrick, that's the attitude which is most realistic and how they behaved in real (besides frank luke, but i think he thought it's BHAH and that he can easily create a new pilot). you treat him like a living beeing without ever ever ever having a second chance and this is how it should be. if you treat him like that, you'll experience this sim as close to realism as it can be. it's not easy to have this attitude because it's a sim, otherwise you should take after you get killed a gun and kill yourself. but at least trying the best you can to treat him like having only ONE life, without any aids, is what i'm trying and what i'm admiring. pilots with 100 hours with 1 kill will get by far more admiration from me than pilots with 5 hours and 30 kills, because i know in real they never would act like this. even the best (real) ww1 aces had maybe a 20-30 hours per kill ratio because their task was first to come back, then to have a kill. you won't see anywhere a real ww1 ace with 20 kills in 10 hours or something like that. very good job and keep this attitude my best so far had almost 190 hours with 16 confirmed and 2 unconfirmed kills.

O.T. Still flying RB3D?
Creaghorn replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
red baron 3d, the founding father of everything we can enjoy today. the manager still the best (which i'm really missing), and the replay tool also. i hope and know it will be that BHAH will reach the quality of the manager some day. -

split or dalmatia in general is definitely the place you have to go. i have never ever seen anything comparable. must be the water or something. you'll never see anywhere so many beauties in one place. you'll fall in love about every minute. really unbelievable. i know that every country says the same about some places, but i've never experienced it to be so true like in split . downside is, they're all pretty arch catholic with much pride and honor and hot temper. a tourist will hardly have a chance to score. even the males living there have hardly a chance. they are really really picky and hardly play games. if you have one, that's almost half a marriage. thanks for the compliment about my gal, sir . -

so now i'm back from croatia and found this new site layout and a loooot of stuff to read. as long as i found out i would have to read everything from page 10 to now. i tried the new superpatch with the newest minipatch, and all i can say is, wow. i'm really impressed. archie is much more realistic and much better visible. the terrain looks much more real. the planes look more sharp. the damage models are very well done. the new stuff on airfields are also great (although wondering why i can see in german hangars spareparts and wngs in allied colors. probably investigation of parts of enemie wreckages). first i was little disappointed about the reduced flight density, but now i'm happy because as long as i found out it means the flights are smaller, but on the other hand you can meet more different flights in the air. here some two seaters, there some other scouts. smaller groups but more of them. like in old red baron 3d. good job. i'm very impressed. most of all the new menu picture of with the pilot leaning on his albatros. wow. overall i can say this patch is very very well done

i wanted to make a gallery to post some pics, but combat ace gives me some error message so i might need some help. i remembered you're request usually they make often own wine and own grappa because you don't need to have a license and no tax. i drank grappa after dinner. was too much for me. kills every infection you might have in your body. i would rather use it as antifreeze in my car

you are right, duce. windspeed is about the same. they have different natural reasons why they occure and i think hurricanes are more predictable in forecasts some days earlier as long as i know. the great winter boras are also somewhat predictable because you know they'll come every year. the summer boras are really random and they come in a sudden. on both, hurricanes and boras no good idea to be at sea at that time
-
no, it was wonderful and really really hot and sunny. not a cloud in the sky besides when the BORA rised. what i love the most is the very cranky sea. the croatian adriatic sea is very well known for the mighty BORA winds and therefor the dangerous waters. the sea can be calm and suddenly within minutes it can turn into a wild storm with hughe waves for several hours with windspeed upt to about 250km/h. then it suddenly calms down like never anything has happened and and might stay calm for days or weeks. this is like poseidon gets furious and then calms down. the people know when they see certain signs of the BORA they have only about 15 minutes to find a save harbour. often tourists in own boats or sailingships have to get rescued or simply get swallowed because they don't know the signs. or as somebody has written in the 19th century: The BORA, the great disturber of this sea, rises always without the slightest warning. With the power of a tornado she ambushes the sailormen and allowes only the boldest to stay on deck. Sometimes she rampages for weeks. but the dalmatian (not the dogs, but the croatian region where the dogs are from )is from childhood on used to her and trained to brave her. He gets tough under her breath and condemns the miserable winds of other seas. to take a look of what i mean just watch this. there are some clips about the BORA and this is an experience everybody should have once in his life.

hi old chap, i meant the density of my own formation, not the airactivity it's indeed a great patch. frontactivity, sounds, everything looks better. oh, i saw you asked for some sort of snake on krk. i think you mean the Green Whip Snake. there are lot of snakes, but mostly harmless. the poison snakes are also mostly shy. one of the more dangerous ones is the poskok (dunno the english or german name for it). she likes to crawl up trees and waits for any victim to appear underneath her. then she drops on the victim. by the way. i wanted to create an album for some pics of my hometrip, but it shows some errormessage and says it's not possible like i'm not logged in or something. is it because the construction of the new combat ace layout is not finished yet?

tonight i'll go back home to my beloved croatia for about 3 weeks. good thing: sea, beaches, beauties everywhere (glad my girlfriend is not reading in this forum ), real hot mediterrenean weather, beachvolleyball, family, more family, getting myself stuffed by them with big meals all day long because i'll look too skinny and sick for them as usual (i think gous knows what i mean. typical mediterranean culture), seafishing, diving, eating a lot of seafood... bad thing: no BHAH :cray: i hope when i'm back the new patch is already available and i can download it while reading all the experiences and opinions about it. see'ya

i also experienced something i didn't see before and what made the AI act much more like a human. i led a patrol of alb dII along the frontline. As i flew i was scanning the sky as always. i took a look back and suddenly saw behind my mates two specks stalking us and slowly coming nearer. they were too far away for me to recon the type or if friendly or enemy. I watched them for a while and looked for more of them but they were alone. so i swerved around and flew directly in their direction head on, not giving an attack sign yet. as i came nearer i saw they were DH2's. Suddenly both turned around to the opposite direction and tried to run away from me. I slowly came closer and then gave my wing the attack sign. the dh2's still were running away. only when we came close enough they started to defend themselves and fight. that was cool. maybe just a happy accident because i didn't see it before, but that made the whole thing so much more human

24.5hrs then wingman collision!
Creaghorn replied to Fliegenhund's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
i never experienced anything like this. i think it's more kind of beeing superstitious or beeing tensed when knowing somebody reached the magic mark because he starts to "think" about the mark. oh my god, i reached the mark. now i have to (tremble tremble) take extra care for him (tremble tremble). of course only in the back of the mind. but one might start to do things slightly differently or getting affected his S.A. because of trying to do it extra right, and that might also decrease the coolness of before. same example there are infielders who are regurlarly making the errors after the 7th inning, and there's definitely no error factor implemented but simply bad luck or the same reasons mentioned above. this is how the probably best of the best (boelcke) has lost his life. there is definitely no 17h bad luck factor programmed . -
i think it depends a lot of what pilots were facing. the DII was inferior to the various Nieuports and SpadVII. the DIII was a unsuccessfull try to copy the characteristics of the Nieuport. all albatros versions were stable gun plattforms, but any allied turnfighter was better in turning then the Alb, and any boom'n zoom fighter was better in boom'n zoom then the alb. of course if an alb pilot could force a spad into a turnfight, he had the upperhand. IMHO the alb is a mixture of both variants, but in neither variant better then any allied counterpart if the pilot flew the strengths of his scout. i think the better and more experienced pilots (with a lot of flighthours in two seaters before) made the difference against lot of allied rookies in the better machines, but without much experience.
-
definitely Alb DIII. I would vote for any of the ALBs because they are all beautifull, outclassed by almost every allied scout, but nontheless a great fighter and performer with a hard punch and the heart of a lion.
