thanks for trying, rabu your new version is quite good anyway. you can see the tracers at least from the others. have fun
-
my effects slider is set on 5, and i can see the tracers from the others quite mediocre and my own just little to none. so i think it's just a matter of size, the trail is going to be made

from cockpit i didn't see any difference or just little bit. watching the others shooting looked much better than before. i like your work very much. so maybe the key is only making the smoke a lot thicker and bigger to be more visible. maybe similar like a hole in the petrol tank, but not that big of course. i asked olham for this modification before you posted your version, so if you are going to tweak around, i'll tell him there is no need to do the same. i hope my suggestions are helping you a bit.

thanks for your suggestions. precision i don't use. because if i focus somebody, i don't move my head much anyway. i have a saitek evo force, and all the buttons for the thumb are occupied with attack, rejoin and help. the upper two buttons with engine on and off. the other buttons down the base of the joystick are IMHO more difficult to reach than a key on my keyboard. so i put only the ingame map on it. by the way. i thougt about modify my joystick somehow to be able to hold it with two hands, with the trigger between the hands for the thumb, like the real joysticks of the german scouts had been. only thing i would have to do is to tie a grip on each side with cable clips. but it turned out to be more difficult than i thought because you will have to make the base of the joystick complete unmoveable. maybe with strips wich glue from both sides and glue the joystick on the table in front of the monitor. maybe i'll try it some time.

god, i'm so stupid. i set everything for my own gusto as good as i could. overall smoothness at 100. smooth at the beginning and getting more aggressive when looking around, so i can check my six (although wondering if realistic, because if one is strapped into his seat he might not be able to check his six perfectly in real). i remapped the the centering key to "delete", and precision on "end" (though never using prescision) because it's a block of keys for itself, so it won't happen that i hit it unintentionally. what always disturbed me was the fact that if i want to look out of the cockpit straight down, i had to lean quite far left or right, and then looking down, often with trackir losing touch of my reflectors and dancing around. does anybody think mr. creaghorn came to the idea to simply make the apropriate axis more sharp, so that he only needs to lean a little to the left and the virtual body moves all the way to the left? stupid stupid stupid. sometimes one must read topics, where he thinks he already knows everything about. sometimes you learn the most obvious. creaghorn

hi rabu, i tried it and i like it. very well done. though it's hardly visible from virtual cockpit. it's visible when somebody else is shooting. personally what i would like to see ist the yellow balls in the same colour as the smoke, and the frontview of the bullets much smaller. and more and thicker smoketrail. the effect looks perfect, should only be IMHO much more visible, because you should follow the streams when aiming, and not the bullet itself (too fast to follow), wich would be IMHO more realistic. then it wouldn't have the incendiary effect anymore, but normal, amost invisible bullets with a smoketrail. if you would do that, that would be perfect. if not, that's fine too. anyways, i am just talking, not beeing able to do it by myself. just telling my opinion :-) have fun, friend creaghorn

Great historical source for german aviators
Creaghorn posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
http://www.frontflieger.de/ here you have a great source of german fliers. currently 2785 are listed. from most of them it's noted in wich jastas and feldfliegerabteilungen they were. there are even lot of notes wich of those pilots got shot down by wich allied ace, or how they died. there a also lot of sanke cards and other interesting pictures. unfortunately it's in german. a great source for everybody, who wants to complete historical aces in BHAH. -

aren't aircraft with blimp switch simulating it by itself if simply throttle back to 10% in BHAH? or is it just the sound?

wow, that looks cool. i'll try it as soon as i can. just wondering what the problems, you mentioned, might be. of the bullets there is a front view and a side view in the effects folder. i would like to make the frontview thinner (looks as big as from a pitching machine IMHO) and greyish looking without the illuminated effect, and the sideview thinner and much much longer to have this smoke trail look, but don't have the tools for it. so i asked olham. i'll test it as soon as he can take a minute for it. but this version looks awesome. the only thing i would change in this version is the bullet itself, making it smaller and greyish, not illuminated. wow. would be cool if it would work properly.

that was perfect. actually i'm surprised how many of you have had german language lessons. but german is not my native language either, so we're almost in the same boat. almost, because i live here in germany for quite a while. -

oh cool. didn't know that. i'll take a look at that. the original is of course better than the version with john boy walton. -
i know it vice versa. there is one part in MvR book, where he was attacking a two seater from the rear and was pretty far away. the enemy gunner was constantly shooting at him, with tracer bullets. MvR. told it's not the best feeling one can have, seeing all the tracers flying by because the allied are using more and more often this mean stuff, but since human is a creature of habit, he smiled at that moment. so for me it sounds like, the allies used it more often.

hässlicher esel , no, i don't think you are. hope you'll have fun with the sites. especially the second one. a lot to read. newspapers, announcements from the kaiser, biographies, stuff like this. every single day is readable. you can really follow how the aces became more and more popular. read the erlebnisbericht of LvR. also very interesting. not so gentle like we used to. it's a kind of diary of the last month at the front. he talkes about taking revenge for his brother. his out to kill the enemy. he wants to see them burn slowly all the way down, stuff like this. -
of course they were grey. that's because the world was b/w on those days at least that's what i thought when i was a small kid.

oh thank you. but how to explain that to my girlfriend? :blush2: if you look a bit deeper into this site, especially into the biographies of the aces, in some of them are the written combat reports of the pilots who killed him. very interesting to read. there is really a lot of stuff to look at. always when i look i find something new. for more pictures and sanke cards and original newspaper reports of every single day during the war and lot more, look at http://www.stahlgewitter.com/ -
hallo all, currently i just added some history in "my" world of BHAH. i made a kind of escadrille lafayette for the dark side. it's a bunch of volunteer croatian soldiers, flying as Jasta Hajduk as a part of Jasta 15. that's really fun. i changed the names of my squadron mates into some random croatian names, using the great skin olham made for me. thanks again olham . it's interesting to watch how long the pilots will last till the last member is replaced by regurlar german pilots, myself including. of cource historically totaly wrong, but it's fun to see flight one with the historical aces and squadmembers in default jasta 15 colours, and me and my flight completely in croatian colours.

i found a kind of home for seniors (dunno how to say in english), where they offer openly to send them copies of old letters and other written material in sütterlin. they want no money, only some donation if you want to give. it's kind of hobby and work for them, to keep their minds busy and keep their brains in shape, so maybe i am going to contact them. of course i would donate. -
i searched in the folder CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields in c. inside the folder are subfolders campaigns, missions and quickcom. everything empty.

Odd Jasta6 Aircraft Choices . .
Creaghorn replied to Kamikaze's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
hi, i saw it on different jastas too. i would say it's because of shortage of certain engines of the newer factories, so they had to go back to the older version till the replacement arrives. or maybe in some periods there crashed too many so they had to use the old ones, waiting for the new ones. i believe it's the reason. if not, than it's good for immersion. creaghorn -

sure, post it. i don't think it's in sütterlin, so for sure the speaker of german language would translate it. even if it is, some here might be able to translate it. -
thanks, i tried to do some screenshots yesterday. during gamplay i pressed several times cntrl + ; (the button next to M). i searched in the CWW1 folder of OFF and there was nothing. hmm. what am i doing wrong?

exactly what i thought, siggi. what i thought about is, there are different cards and letters from people, fighting each other. and somehow, when i see all pics and letters together, i have the impression they might have been friends after war.
