i love the glass effect on the gauges, or the scratched looking window at the roland sides of the fuselage. looks so real. what i also like is the comments at the killing boards of aces. the names, KIA, POW, 1. hattrick, 3rd hattrick...

i absolutely love the realistic way of claims. with my last pilot i got 21 for 21. you just write what you experienced and write like you want the kill to be yours. and if some claims are rejected, so what. somebody else has made a more conclusive claim. that system is absolutely great. one thing imho, killing is too easy and arcadish. even at hard settings. i love all the spinnings and explosions and wings falling off. a great feature. but it should be harder to get there and quick kills only when i'm a good marksman and instantly hit the engine or pilot or struts. a thing wich most of us are not. that's my opinion and i think i'm one of the very view, especially because we suddenly have 800% more aces around . how about a setting like in RB3d full canvas jacket control panel where you can set the bullet strength from 1-100? 1 means low impact, 100 hardest impact. similar to the already available setting, just adding more possibilities. very light, light, normal, strong and strongest. just an addon for people like me who want to really earn a kill and not having 5 kills each sortie, thinking what great pilot i am, because i know i am not.

Do you fly Fighters or Bombers in Campaign?
Creaghorn replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hey Creaghorn, This is how I do it. Go to the OBD Software file (or wharever BHAH installed on your machine) and go to, Campaigns/Campaign Data/Pilots and then find the Pilot dossier that you wish to move from bombers to scouts or vice versa. Edit the third line down and put in the squadron you wish to transfer to...exactly the way it appears in the campaign manager. You may have to enter and exit the Campaign Manager once or twice to make it take effect. HTH. If something goes haywire please dont pin it on me. lol. Devs: If you want me to take this down and send it to Creaghorn via PM just let me know. How do I upload a pic so that you dont have to d/l and just click on it? Sorry first picture post. hey wow, thank you very much. as soon as i have buried my current pilot, i'll try it. thank you. -
Do you fly Fighters or Bombers in Campaign?
Creaghorn replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
i would try to have a typical german flight career. starting as franz or emil and later becoming a fighterpilot. i red some doing that in BHAH. how can i manage that? as long as i know there is not transfer option. -
scramble can also mean a formation of two seaters are near your airfield, but at very high altitude. scramble doesn't mean always attacking scouts. did you check your radar for white spots? january 1916 is a time anyway where formations, running into another was very rare. skies were pretty much empty at those days. try a test pilot in a campaign 1918? if it's still a couple missions long without anything, something is wrong. creaghorn

I hate to go against the grain here...
Creaghorn replied to tn_prvteye's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
as a matter of fact the e was indeed a very poor aircraft. the allies were terrified and talked about the scourge. but there were only a handful e's to cover a large area. they knew the names of the best of them (prof.immelmann, boelcke). they feared them like ghosts but more because of propaganda and gossip than actual hundreds of shot down aircraft. because they thought it was a kind of new Wunderwaffe. when they started, they knew: "oh dear, immelann is somewhere out there in this area..." when they finally captured an intact eindecker, they tested it and actually were embarrassed because of the terrified fear of them. they realizied the eindeckers had very poor performance, but good pilots and could have been matched by not only scouts, but a lot of armed two seaters of the time as well. the philosophy at this early stage was to run, whenever one of the ghosts with this wunderwaffe is seen. -

hi, very cool claim reports you have. very immersive. what was your highest pending so far? i just had a claim, pending 92 wich was accepted. now i have 7 of 7 claims accepted, 3 waiting with pending 82. couple weeks ago i had regular pending at about 68. since i was reading your claim forms my pendings raised to the regurlar 80ies, and now one with 92, my highest so far. thank you MK2 -
Wanting more, asking for more.
Creaghorn replied to Siggi's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
hey siggi, i agree and disagree with you. i agree with you when talking about toys and things we did when we were small children (ok, i'm still pretty young though, but i was still born before this power rangers, playstation, mtv, cellphone generation of today). when going out and being outside all day long, making bows and arrows by yourself and playing native indians, or playing stickball in the backyard or simply do everything openminded, careless children are doing and coming home at evening with open knees, being dirty from head to your toe. nowadays it's not like this anymore. children getting fat, sitting in front of the tv, beeing lazy, never reading a book, getting all sorts of allergies, not beeing satisfied with any toy wich has not as much electric stuff inside as my car has. where i disagree if the devs would stop their support today, that would be sad, but fine for me because this sim is one of the best games i have played so far. but imagine what would have been with the old mother of all sims RB3d if the people wouldn't continue to dream on and always trying to get the maximum out of it still to this day? it would be this cartoonish, limited game as it was when sierra quit supporting it. but it's not and it has still many many features which can be adapted in newer sims like BHAH and there are still lot of things not reached yet by BHAH. one thing is the mass of different aircraft available like in WFP2 or the directly consequences for the AI pilot. there will be a time when bhah is going to have the same number of aircraft available and all the same features. but is absolutely ok IMHO to make the first steps. dreaming on is no "you must" for the devs. it is what it is. some suggestions and dreams which might be some day realized or not. :-) -
Next airplane for OFF?
Creaghorn replied to Herr Prop-Wasche's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
i voted for every kind of two seaters. main reason why airwar developed is because they were the eyes of the enemy. and small, armed aircraft went up to prevent them of doing that. and then the two seaters got escorted by other scouts or two seaters. every now and then a furball might occure between scouts, but the main target were always two seaters because they were the guys who hurt the soldiers by bombing them or noting their positions and directing their artillery... so right now there are IMHO quite often dogfights between scouts, which didn't have any effect for anybody. there should be two seater formations as much and with as many types as possible in the future, because that is what airwar was all about. dogfights between scouts are for hollywood and audiences on the ground, or if simply two patrols run into another. but main target have always been the two seaters. so the skies should be filled more with them. priority should be two seaters to add or the really big guys like gotha, HP.... IMHO we have even right now scouts which are not too necessary because there were too few, and wich should be replaced by two seaters if the spots are limited, like two gun soptripes. -
Patch 1.26 observations and comments

thanks pol, i'll give it a try. although it seems for me even on hard it's easier to get a kill than before, so that's why i was confused. -
Patch 1.26 observations and comments
Creaghorn replied to Winston DoRight's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
sorry, but i seem to be a little confused :cray: please explain somebody to me like to a 3 year old child. when going on AI guns (range) whats the difference between easy and hard? does it mean his bullets have more impact when hitting me on hard so destroying me quicker? i noticed on hard there is mor AA fire, which is fine. the second new thing. AI guns and my own guns, front and rear. what is the difference between hard and easy? i noticed on hard the spray factor is greater, which also is fine. so to explain it differently: i do not want to down an enemy with 2 bullets, but want to earn my kill, having me hitting him often to down him, like before. but i also do not want to get hit a by 2 bullets till i am spinning down. i want to earn my kill with hitting him often till he breaks apart,. so which setting do i have to set? -
"Hunting fun factor" or long lasting pilot ?
Creaghorn replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
that is exactly what i am talking about when saying that 300 flying hours with 3 kills is more realistic than 30 hours with 20 kills. because you know this is a game, you will allways enter a fight here and there, wich you probably would not if you would know you might lose your life. i am trying to survive as long as i can and the kill tally doesn't interest me too much. so i'm trying to live for another day and only attack when knowing i'm going to win. sometimes it happens you end in a furball without a choice but fight for your life. but that shouldn't happen too often if you are careful. if my flight ist outnumbered or if i can't get a result in the first minutes of a fight, i'm trying to shake some dust. of course sometimes it happens you start with an advantage, attack and end up with a superior aircraft or better pilot behind you, but that's how it goes and how it went. if you run into a skilled opponent you should notice it right in the beginning and beat him early or run away. my best pilot so far had about 38 hours with about 6 kills which i am quite proud of. when having a new pilot and taking him seriously i only think about surviving the next day. nothing else. of course you had the best of the best who were aggressive, skilled AND survived quite long. but that's because they were the allstars in the WW1 show. if about MvR is said he was a mediocre pilot, that's because he "himself" considered beeing a mediocre pilot. he himself is the source of that. but though he himself conisdered beeing a mediocre pilot, he was surely one of the top 5 flyers in WW1 who was not catchable and who outmanouvred everybody. he just didn't like loopings and the acrobatic stuff, which he said is only for the audiences on the ground, but he was efficient in attacking. that's like ozzie smith saying about himself beeing a mediocre fielder :-). -
German Trucks -- They don't make 'em like that anymore
Creaghorn replied to Thumper41's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
once i had a bad and shaky landing and ended up at the side of a road right next of my airfield. there was one single truck driving down the road and by me. My wing was a bit covering the street, so i was hoping the driver would stop and help my turn my aircraft into the right direction. but no. he just kept going and ripped a part of my right wing off. he was not even humping. -
O/T Kidney Stones--Not Fun!
Creaghorn replied to Herr Prop-Wasche's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
i wish you'll gain your health again asap. i never experienced something like this. all i can say is, drink water as much as you can. or like doctors say, try to keep white all the time, not yellow. as soon as you get yellow, you did not drink enough. creaghorn -
hi all, i have talked about it before, but i want to point out one thing that also might help others with poor or mediocre FPS. When entering the theater, i zoom up my cockpitview one notch. for me it looks more realistic and the world around me also. so doing that, my wingmate besides me looks like a real pilot, sitting in a real aircraft. The hangars and everything else look like buildings in size and shape, compared to myself. so IMHO it really looks like you are one small person surrounded by objects which are bigger than you, like it should be and how it is in real. but the best thing, my fps jumped from between 17-35 to about 30-60+ maybe because everything is a bit bigger, my rig has to calculate less. maybe something worth trying for everybody who wants. creaghorn
-
thank you dej, as a side effect wich also shows me it's more realistic that way, is when replaying my last mission, i felt when shooting at somebody, i am quite near. but on replay it said, from a distance 600 feet... now with the one notch zoom i am still about the same distance to the enemy, quite near on his tail, and now replay says e.g. nieuport gets hits from player from 356 feet distance... now i am near the enemy, and the replay reflects that instead of pushng you further away.

it is possible, my sirtaki dancing friend . go to CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields/Campaigns/Campaigndata/Pilots/pilotwhateverDossier there you can make the changes to your squadronmates. even add or take away kills. i hope either someday it will do it by itself creaghorn

hallo all, i am wondering if the custom view in the cockpit are set because they are historically accurate, or because cfs engine is doing it. because if you zoom forward, the whole world zooms forward. in my case IMHO the view in the albatros cockpit is a bit too far away, so i zoomed one notch forward. inside the cockpit it looked more realistic because such a cell ain't that big and since i zoomed it a notch forward it looks realistic to reach the guns and to check your gauges. i can also a bit better recognize specks and landmarks, so that also seemed more realistic for me. the best thing i found out, it boosted my fps up between 10-15. so i want to ask if the custom view is realistic, or is it ok to zoom it up? i am talking of one notch. not more. creaghorn

honestly, i don't know if it's possible. i would say no. if you change it, it would change the completely feature of f4, not only the showing target. maybe what might help is to set your f4 key to one of your joystick buttons where you have more control of and can reach easier, while flying, so it might decrease the chance you tap it too often. p.s. i have a lot of greek friends, some of them admire onassis, some callas, some even the singer perikles, but you are the first i know who seems to admire gousgounis

thanks for your opinion, bagger. so i'm not alone with the impression
