that with the bible was just a phrase. i was trying to say that they should rather learn morale and that an individuals life is something worth, even in this Borg-like community. that there is an outcry now among own people is normal, since that case, which happens weekly, this time is caught on tape an the world has seen it. they are confronted with it because it's not something they have read in the (censored) paper or heared about, but seen on tape. so they are forced now to question themselves. to see something like that has a completey different impact than just knowing it's happening somewhere on a regurlar basis. just two days ago was a similar incident. a 5 year old boy was killed by a truck (also with pics) . the driver deliberately went back again over the boys body to make sure he's dead. because treatment in hospital is by far more expensive than a single reparation of causing death. the driver jumped out to of the truck to the shocked mother, simply asking how much does she want him to pay. another source said that while the truckdriver tried to neagotiate with the mother other people run to him and yelled at him that he has to compensate for the damage he has done. only person really shocked was the mother, sitting next to the mincemeated body of her 5 year old son. that happened just 2 days or so ago. as i said, the people who live there say it is happening often and it's rather normal (and sick). it may happen in other places too of course, although not helping a 2 year old child in agony, and just dumb looking when somebody falls from the bike or something like that is a different ballgame. personally this is not a community i want to become the "worlds biggest economy blah" that's simply sick. they won't definitely get a single penny for anything from me anymore, at least as far as i can control it, since every single crap nowadays is produced there.

i had in the past very long german twoseater campaigns until switching to scouts and it was fun (e.G. Ulrich Wolf if anyone remembers). for a while now i'm doing a british twoseater campaign (when time permitts), now january 1916 with BE2c's. i'm using bletchleys mission mod (thank you sir) with all the lone wolf missions, but i have altered them a bit and added more variations. e.G. i erased the formation recon missions. i must say it's also great fun again not to think too much about dogfighting but doing the tasks of the twoseaterpilots. i have 90% lone wolf missions with different tasks. trenchrecon, recon behind enemy lines to photograph suspicious movements, missions without any particurlar task with a handful bombs and target at will if i wish to, contacting troops etc (although the flare-thing doesn't work), and every now and then, if there is an important target indentified (camps, railstations, airfields, trenches) a big scale bombing run with the whole formation. that's the only missions with others involved. very satisfying campaign so far. i chose a very average squadron because the pilots there don't die in such a high rate. enough time at least to know all your mates (i have a word-file with each AI pilot with a pic and a brief history of the guy, and additionally names from another campaign i took from to represent the observers. if one pilot is missing, then by rolling dies automatically one observer is also missing) i must say it's really fun so far. especially i was used for enemies beeing very aggressive when i had the long roland campaign and here there are not. reason is that enemy scouts see the rolands as scouts, not as twoseaters, and AI against scouts is always more aggresssive. but here with BE's just one or two dangerous attacks and then they mostly leave you. IMO more realistic behaviour of Fokker Eindeckers in those times. only thing i don't like is when running in to larger Fokker Eindecker formations over own territory while i'm trying to reach the lines. cheers creaghorn

British Twoseater Campaign

good statement olham. just wanted to point something out about the poll. if the poll was about what kind of campaign people play most, the right question would rather be: do you rather play scout careers, with fully developed missions and campaign, promotions and medals etc.? or do you rather play two seater careers, not fully developed, without real tasks like recon, contact patrols, long range recon, without beeign able to actually do anything besides dropping bombs, otherwise just flying about over te intended area, with mates who more or less just fly straight? i think of course people fly more scouts because p3 was primarily made for scout careers. if twoseater careers are also fully developed, with the possibility to make pics, to range artillery, to contact your troops with flares etc., in short, if the two seater career makes more sense, than i think a way lot of people would fly two seater careers. that's why IMO previous polls are not very significant. -

Topped an ace recently?
Creaghorn replied to themightysrc's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
he was with jasta 2 when he flew the Albatros DII. in end of 1916 or january 1917 he was assigned to lead Jasta 11, and they were flying Halberstadt DII's until the Albatros DIII arrived. (JFM, please correct me if i'm wrong ) -

he scored his first kills and earned his PLM in the Albatros, but in Jasta11 after receiving the Albatros DIII it had structual problems, so he flew the Halberstadt for a while until the problems got solved. -

that's exactly the point. how much more real could OFF get? especially in early 1916/late 1915 the whole thrill is not the fighting itself. if you look through young british two seater pilots eyes, then you know there is the wunderwaffe fokker out there, and that's enough to scare you because your virtual self doesn't know yet how obsolete the fokker in real is. you know that there is somewhere a guy named boelcke and another one called professor immelmann who are caching twoseaters one after another. but your job in twoseaters is looking at the ground, and in this great scenerie there is enough to look at. when you are over the lines, then you look down and ask yourself what's that small facility? what convoy is that? is this a farm or something else? is this railstation getting supplies? could be a target for a bombing run tomorrow. and that's the things you do in the rather passive months. when an offensive starts and hell breaks out, then there is much more to do because you are helping the chaps down there as good as you can. you have enough great scenerie and immersion to live a good twoseater campaign. actually much more than cruising through the air looking for enemies. seems that for a moment the impatience overwhelmed you. do you really think that the devs would do it like that, do you? -

it's not a big deal for me because i'm relatively close to the lines anyway, 80% of flying time is over or behind enemy lines. it's great to be on this hughe airfield northwest of Albert. i also went once with this pilot in QC (never die ticked cause you never know and no record of flighttime) on an extended joyride with the bike. very cool -

the yankees should get rid of the wanna-have-a-lifestyle-like-jeter-but-end-upalways-a-joke-arod. they should keep jeter because he is the captain and a very important yankee. posada was very good in his prime but i think that was his last game tonight. at least as a yankee. they should get rid of jekyll/hyde burnett and build a real rotation behind cc and nova. all others are still quite young and hungry (compared to Arod), i don't count the pinchhit replacements. you always need one or two veterans who can step up every once in a while. and yes, great series, but unfortunately my yankees lost. but congrats to detroit, they deserved it . if you are stranding so many on base like the yankees did, then you can't expect to win.period.

Does P4 get it's own name?
Creaghorn replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
first i had to google what OCD is. would also fit to WM and his snipe . how about "OFF: Out Of Control" 1. it is an aviation term 2. you can also see it for the whole war, because they wanted to be back home until christmas, but everything got out of control. 3. it's short and easy to say OOC 4. it's not just a fighting or aces blah. every aircraft under any circumstance could go out of control. be it a damage, be it getting shot down, be it a fake to escape, be it getting into someones propwash, be it while changing drums and holding the stick between the knees, be it while flying through a cloud, be it while landing in sidewind etc. 5. it's a term often used in claimforms. -

crossing the lines sounds very good, but probably copyrighted. how 'bout "OFF: Aura Nullius" which is latin and means the same like Terra nullius (no man's land) just in air, so no man's air. -

what's the most used word to describe the feeling in OFF? Immersion. since p4 is going to raise the immersionlevel to a major league level, how 'bout "OFF: Ultimate Immersion" -
Sound settings in Workshop
Creaghorn replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
there is the sound.xml in the main folder and it has many of the sound effect settings. but it is quite a fiddling. not easy and a lot of trial and error. other sound settings are coded or spread in different folders, depending of where they are needed. wind for example is buried in the various aircraft folders and every AC has it's own wind settings. so you will have to play with windsettings (quite a fiddling too) for each aircraft. cheers -
yes, i was wondering since many moons. especially duce lewis. more or less sudden disappearence. wasn't he working for a church? maybe he is a monk now!?! i think siggi appeared some weeks ago for a short hello. think he is busy.

ENGINE - own engine and damaged engine sound EFFECTS - flak, wind, AI-engine, so to say everything from outside besides guns COCKPIT - your own guns, guns from external view and AI guns USER I/F - everything in non-missions. buttons, sound of switching pages etc. -
For all warpers who avoid lone wolf missions
Creaghorn posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
maybe everybody knows already, but i found an easy solution to avoid to be sent all over the western front on lone wolf missions, but nonetheless beeing able to warp. usually i avoided lone wolf missions because of the glitch, but now i started a very early british two seater career and i didn't want to fly always in formations for recon jobs etc. so i installed the bletchleys mission-mod. i found out that only the three or four circles to form up and gain height above your airfield is broken. that is what sends you all over the place. probably a typo in a comma or something. so what i do is take off, and skip those first three or four waypoints with shift+w and fly or warp directly to the intended area. then it is like every other sortie with waypoints as in formations. no more strange flying around in flanders -

or i hit autopilot first. and autopilot means flying straight, not automatically along the waypoints, right?
