  1. Lou - I PM'd you..but in case it didn't go through, please let me know. Thx Royce
  2. Pup 80hp and 110hp versions

Panama Red - Nice to see that name again. Terrific ground breaking work from early RB3 days !!! Regards, Royce
  3. 1915 Mod

Louv- Yeah, no else seems to have a problem...probably a conflict somewhere with my set up... Royce
  4. 1915 Mod

I tried to install the other day through the JSGME and when I activated it froze the sim. Had to delete current pilots etc, and wipe the salte to get OFF up and running again. Does the 1915 mod need to be added over a clean install? I'd like to try this mod but I get seem to get it going? Any advice appreciated. Royce
  5. Louvert - >>but the last time I fired up the sim it just made me feel a bit sad for the old girl. Despite all the innovations and add-ons done to her over the years, she has not aged well when seen in today's light. << I had the same experience a while back. Lewie - >> I liked the FM better, it was pretty difficult, and demanding.<< I did the FM for Kess when he released FCJ. It's nice to read that someone still recalls it after all this time..LOL ..It took me about two years of "blind RB parameter breaking", along with several others who were trying to improve the RB3D FM and DM, to get to what I thought was representative of the performance parameters of these old a/c. There were many many improved varieties of the RB3 FM as the years went by. In the end I believe 'Greybeard' made great strides with the FM..and may still now. I haven't visited RB forums etc. for years. OFF is my WW1 aviation focus. Javito- I found the files unzipped .exe's and ini's for FCJ and Reload in an old RB3d folder. Don't know if they can be used and installed as they are unzipped, but I'll email them to you if you PM your email. You can give them a try. Royce
  6. 1915 Mod

Great addition to OFF Bletchley..thanks for the mod! Anything that adds more realism to OFF is terrific IMHO Royce
  7. Just left click for each time advance, Shows the flow of WW2 on a map The_Best_Map_Ever_of_World__.pps Royce
  8. OT - IL2 giveaway

Same here..would have taken you up on your generous offer, except that I had purchased IL2 1946 about a month ago...based on a recommendation from one of our OFF forum members..think it was Widowmaker actually.
  9. Sick and Tired

Uncleal - I'm with you. Had the flu ten or eleven years ago, swore to myself afterward, I would never go through that again. Got a flu shot every year since, never had a reaction and never got the flu.
  10. About nine or ten years ago, I did an analysis of all of MvR's combat reports. If I remember correctly the average rounds fired for all his kills was well below 500 or more rounds. More in the 200 round range. I wish I could find the spread sheet, but I believe it "gone with the internet wind". Royce
  11. To anyone with further interest on oil production and distribution as it relates to the War and aviation usage, I would point you to an absolutely fascinating thread (at least to me) http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/aircraft/45364-observations-wwi-petrol-octane-2.html by the above Bletchley and Dan San Abbott. Regards, Royce
  12. Pawgy - Wasn't aware of your original post..however, I'm with Widowmaker, anyone with the character to post that apology, belongs with the OFF forum group..IMHO Royce
  13. Lou- Thanks for posting this thread. I wasn't aware of Battery Press and the histories they reprint. What a trove! Not sure if I have the time now to indulge in a multi volume history of British aviation..but I may buy them to have for when I have more "study time". Have an interest in the Victorian wars as well, and see that there is some offerings there too. Thanks for the heads up. Royce
  14. Thank You OBD

Couldn't be more perfectly stated, Capt Sop!... The virtual WW1 aviation world that the OFF/OBD team has created, is something to marvel at; and it's apparently going to get even better!! Royce
  15. Capt Sopwith - I 'm fine; thank you for asking..flying OFF, checking the forum daily, waiting for P4..like everyone else. Have you finished your studies? I recall you were just starting college back in the RB3D days. Your opus on the history, evolution, and modding of RB3D was incredible.. hope they still have it posted somewhere. Regards, Royce
  16. WOOOOOOOW!!!!! I gravitate toward the scenery and environment aspects as much as the a/c detail; so... I love the: clouds and cloud layers the take off and landing ruts on the airfields did I perceive the "curvature of the earth" in that pic with the Dr1? If that's not new, I have not noticed it before. the cockpits are amazing P4 is going to be terrific..looking forward to all the "bells and whistles"! Regards, Royce
  17. OFF's Haunting theme

I recall Kess's great theme music for FCJ from RB3D. Kess was a musician as I remember as well as a master RB modder. I can't believe that no one in the WW1 simming community doesn't have a file of it still. Matt's theme for OFF is about as "moving" as it gets..IMHO. I listen ti it often when I want to just relax. Glad to read that he may contribute again to P4. Royce
  18. Olham - >>As far as I know, the package "IL-2 1946", which I got and used for some time.<< Thanks for the information Royce
  19. HS- I never got involved with IL-2..stayed with CFS and mods for WW ll. However it looks like this sim might be very interesting and developed for the occasional WW2 campaign. What's the best way to get into the latest and most developed version? Regards, Royce
  20. Thanks for the heads up Dej. I just picked up my copy from Amazon for $6 US... a great buy! Regards, Royce
  21. Need some help..My PC crashed...added new HD..XP pro sp3 OS. All other hardware the same. Always ran OFF with no problems. Now for some unknown reason I cannot get OFF to load and start up at all I have done three clean installs of CFS 3 with 3.1 and/or 3.1a.; and three clean installs of OFF. I cannot get OFF to start. I have run regestry cleaners between uninstalls and installs. Nothing helps..I am totally bewildered. I believe I am following the install process step by step and can't think of anything I am missing. I have stopped at each level of upgrade and still no start up. CFS3 runs fine..just no OFF. Is their a file I might be missing that is not part of the CFS 3 or BHAH products? Can't believe this is happening and that I can't fly Off. Thanks in advance, Royce
  22. I Am Mystified..

Ouch...... Hope you get it going in less times then I tried Royce
  23. I Am Mystified..

Thanks guys for all the advice. Emailed OFF support gurus and received great suggestions. In the end however..after trying everything...I tried yet another clean install(#5) and for some unknown reason, everything loaded up just fine. So I have no explanation..it just worked fine after five tries. Back to my favorite sim Royce
  24. I Am Mystified..

Olham- Yes I flew CFS3 several times first, before trying to go into OFF. Real mystery to me..never had problems before. Anyway, your suggestion to write to the support guys is probably needed at this point..or I'll just not be able to fly OFF..sadly Royce
  25. I Am Mystified..

Scout - Sorry I wasn't more clear. I get all the way to the "go to field"click..but instead of going to the field and starting, the sim goes back to the "Briefing room" screen. Or It will go to the "welcome to the world of WW1" screen and never load but go back to the briefing room screen. I have tried clean installs 3 times; of Off and CSF3. The thing is, that even if I just install the CSF3 and OFF CD and not any of the other upgrades it still won't load and start. The same holds true whether 1.32 and 1.32g are added..also HiTR and 1.47. The sequence is: CFS3 - 3.1 - run once and set config - install Off BHAH CD - then other addons as sequenced in the instructions. Am I missing something?? TIA, Royce
