  1. Not gonna lie...that's what I was (not so) secretly hoping WOtR was going to be!
  2. Wow! 24 days in the hospital is one of the longest stats I have seen. Those observers are dynamite, as you may seem in an upcoming mission of mine. I'll check out the videos in a bit here...
  3. carrick58, you always manage to get these great dynamic pictures that look like they actually could have be taken in the middle of combat! Oh no, MFair! You were off to such a rocking start! catch, you're good. Like I said, that crash sounds pretty survivable anyway! Here's what things look like at the end of week 1: Couple quality of life requests for old Rick Rawlings: Please answer all questions other than your name and the how did you die one numerically. Please be careful to enter 0 and not the letter o. Please don't do the math, the spreadsheet should do that. TROOPER117, I am guessing you did not get 40 kills for three sorties? If you should die somewhere along the way, it would be helpful if you would complete the survey once at the end of each of the next two weeks so I don't have to transfer the data. Everyone try to hang in there! Good luck!
  4. Congratulations, mandrews_2, here's to many more confirmed! carrick58, that's one more pass than I feel comfortable making, but I usually do it too! Yes, yes, anywhere from 3-7 per week is the prescription! You can catch up if you'd like. The hard limit at the end is 22.
  5. Going into week 2: Tim Tully Mission 8
  6. Did you get the "Sadly, you have died in combat" announcement at the end of the mission with the funeral movie? If not, you should probably be ok. I think sometimes crashed tend to look worse than they are, and sometimes you just get lucky! If anyone wants to raise an objection, please pm me but otherwise, as long as you didn't get the above message and you haven't accidentally checked invulnerable pilot in the workshop, you're good to go. It certainly seems like running into a parked plane at the end of a landing rollout would be survivable! As for the videos, for me anything that happens in runtime gets sent into the Combat Flight Simulator folder while anything in the shell (campaign screen, mission debriefs, claims screen, etc.) goes to the World of Final Fantasy folder as you mentioned. I don't think I've ever tried taking screenshots using shadowplay. I will either just use the print screen key or grab them afterwards during playback.
  7. Wow, I had never heard of WoW before. I thought that when you said you could leap into another plane you just meant that you would select a different plane in your flight and you would "become" that guy, but, no, I just watched a video and your pilot literally jumps from one plane to the next, tremendous! Although I felt bad for the poor observer left behind in the now pilot-less plane!
  8. Nice one, carrick58, we've been seeing a lot of verticality, flights way above or way below. You'd think both sides could get on the same page if they really want to have a war...
  9. Stache, glad you re-linked those videos, those were awesome! The first one was very atmospheric with the rain and down-on-the deck target-rich environment and the second one went crazy when that Albatros dove on you. Nobody collided in that big fight? And as the cherry on top, you managed to just miss the fence when you crashed, which is probably why you lived!
  10. I just took a closer look at this picture catch, were you being attacked by the Death Star?!? mandrews_2, I've just consulted with the gods of thunder, and while they said that mandrews_1 was screwed, you were fine and escaped! Stache, I'm only, like, twelve posts away from editing privileges!!!
  11. Stache, you posted the studio links instead of the direct video links TROOPER117: I promise I won't be a Stan...
  12. So did I! So much so that I ran off to the workshop right afterwards to make sure I hadn't accidentally turned collisions off. I think it was graphics lag, as you may have noticed I had a few minor stutters right around there. While I was in the workshop, I did notice that I had force encounters set to high and air activity set to medium, so for anyone not 'getting some action' as they...er, say, you might want to check that out. That was a great fight you had there, TROOPER117, it was almost like a perpetual Albatros generator! That first guy really did hang on that half wing forever! My first joystick had a bit of nose wiggle to it that my newer one seems to be better at. I was able to mitigate it somewhat in the config by playing with the deadzone and sensitivity settings, in case you haven't looked into that. catch, glad you are still hanging in there! Everyone, please fill out The Survey (even for our fallen) as soon as you can so I can post our first week exploits, and good luck on week 2
  13. Nice work, Baldric! Love the "business end" shot of the Vickers!
  14. Nice, HarryH! One is better than none. And still breathing is better than not...so I've heard!
  15. Nice work, Trooper. well deserved! Here's my last for the week, a weird one! I was waiting for the engine to flame out or fail at any point! Thankfully it held together long enough!
  16. Wait, is that to say that in your alternate universe there will be no spearmint gum after the war? Sounds like a killer marketing opportunity for your pilot if he makes it!
  17. I hope so! That was well played!
  18. Great video, catch! The continuously cutting into the Pfalz gave me flashbacks: I think I also have three rejected on easy claims, so we definitely have the same C/O! You are making me nervous, though, with those spinning dives; that's how I lost my wing in the other SE5a challenge!
  19. Great work guys! Man, that Lt. Wallwork is everywhere! MFair, great job on getting up to 9! My mancave doesn't have a door, so that must be my problem! Great story, mandrews_2! I find myself firing a lot of full drums too! Would love to see a pic or vid if you can!
  20. They do seem to be pretty rare, don't they? That's something I've often wondered about. Reports I've read seem to range from one burst to almost all their ammo to down a single kite, and sometimes they go down in flames and sometimes not. On another note, I hope that they do get dx11 effects in as that should help with tracers, sun-glare, wing glare and fire overall.
  21. Tim Tully Mission 5 *Full disclosure: this was not my first mission 5. My first mission 5 was plagued by the head tracking issues in mission 4 but a lot more. I finally figured out that my Track IR cable was getting snagged by my rudders when I moved them a certain amount, not enough to noticeably move the camera, but just enough to keep shifting my view in a perplexing way. On top of that, the wife popped in and just had to talk about something while I was in the middle of combat. At that point I was getting a little hot, so I decided that as the CEO of Rick Rawlings Challenges Enterprises, neither myself, my employees or any members of my immediate family are eligible to collect any cash or prizes, so I reloaded and started again. And now:
  22. They're pretty inconsiderate like that! That was a nice video. It's rare to see a wing come off a recon craft like that, at least in my experience. I think you should have sat out there a half mile away and let that fool observer shoot at you all day long until he ran out of bullets and the just gone in and shot him down!
  23. Nice, Mfair! *I see a possible mug in your future!* Tim Tully Mission 4 Little bit of TrackIR trouble, which will cause a problem next mission...
