If only people were not so bloody paranoid. Practice some common sense safe food handling rules and chit like this is not going to happen. To say the cucs came from one country or another is BS. How does anyone know the sickies just didn't wash their hands after having a dump or whatever. A little common sense goes along ways, but in this day and age it is a RARE commodity.

Your fantasy vs. the OFF reality?
TSmoke replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The only real disappointments for me are the N11 again for the takeoff and the SPAD 7, never tried the 13 yet but the visibility just sucks. My favorite from the Allies side are N17 lewis or vickers models, and pretty much all the Sopwiths with the exception of the Camel haven't survived long enough to try it out. The German craft all feel like I'm driving a Greyhound bus compared to the Allied planes. But I do like the Alb D2. -
Which key command for gunsight?
TSmoke replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The main reason I never use the gunsight view is precisely the views to get out of i and TrakIR doesnt work then.. Plus the zoom level is way to much for my taste. I'm like Olham use the old Mark 46 eyeball after a very short time you'll know where your rounds will hit. I don't stick with one specific airplane so have to remember a few different views. My hit average runs from 28% in a DH2, 32-34% in the Pup, 34-36% in a Albatross D2 or3, my best and favorite is in the Noop 17 with the Vickers gun and my hit percentage is 42% average. -

P4 DEVELOPMENT SCREENSHOTS Discussion
TSmoke replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I really love the clouds that we have in this game. They are so much better than IL2-1946 clouds which look like cotton balls to me. The colours ( yes stupid spell check that is how most Canadians prefer to spell color.) that we get in the clouds with the sun rising or setting is just amazing. The scenery in my opinion is just awesome. Haven't tried the other WW1 sim to compare, but I am happy as a pig in schitt with OFF and see no need to change. Keep up the tremendous work fellas we all appreciate it even if we don't always say so. Thanks!! -
Which key command for gunsight?
TSmoke replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
For me default is F6. Never had a mind to change it, plus I don't use the gunsight view. -
Thanks for the help but....
TSmoke replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Don't you just love it when your own flak frags your azz. Happens so often it's stupid. I wish that the dummies would realize we are all not the enemy. -

Pleading for Labels and other aids
TSmoke replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
OK thanks everyone for there help and explanations on how to take the Chinese out of it for me. I like Olhams explanation it's perfect for me simple, short and idiot proof. The example he gave was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the link TaillyHo. Saves me some messing around, at least it will give me a great starting point. Thanks to all for your help and understanding. -
Pleading for Labels and other aids
TSmoke replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Sorry to bring up this thread again, but was looking for a way to tone down the labels. From what I read it is possible, even if it is all Chinese to me. It doesn't make sense to me and even for messing around with the file to experiment, how in the hell do you edit the 0xFF stuff?? Clicking on it does diddly left or right. Need to D/L a program?? I would like to keep the same stock colors just would like them toned way down, but not to near invisible as the photo in the thread shows as an example. -
I started out in Phase 2 bought 3 and flew the crap out of it daily. I just purchased HiTR a couple of weeks ago. Creaghorn is right the wind buffeting is as good a reason as any to buy it. Mind you the extras in Workshops are nice as well. Fly till you die, and just create another pilot. You newer fellas down the road will get attached to one pilot and when he buys the farm your gonna be pizzed. I think we have all been there and done that.

On the claims for it says to use names only and no ranks. I have never put any ranks in the claim form. Does that form become invalid or does it create a higher percentage of rejections?? Just curious on my part. I always write down the names in my flight, make note of approx. time of aircraft destroyed and approx. distance from nearest airfield for location of downed aircraft. I have about a 85- 90 % acceptance of claims.

I may not be able to help much, I use 3Pro with the 5 software. But Polovski has got you going on the right track. Start you Trak IR on the default display to the right you see the grid squares with the X and Y axis put your mouse pointer on that and with your mouse wheel scroll the grid in or out. You will see a model head from the rear. On the upper left side you'll see the speed setting and the smoothness. I have mine set at 0.5 for speed and 35 for smoothness. Now you have to make sure the Trak IR unit is a minimum of 24 inches from you hat clip or whatever 5 comes with. Set yourself back 36 inches from it and see how that feels. To close and you are wasting your time. You can find profiles on-line at Natural Point, Google is your friend here. If you fig git in your chair as I do, you need to create a profile with a bit of a dead zone. This can be found on-line as well. It's plug and play WITH a little extra tweaking involved. Believe me I don't know how to add stuff to FSX and you do. So if I can nail down Trak IR anyone can. The profile I use I found on-line at some IL2 forum and the creators name of the profile is or was 369_CharveL. Its the one I have been using for along time as it suits me fine. I do have the profile but how I would get it to you so all you have to do is drop it in the Natural Point/ Profiles folder. Is beyond me. I see there is a attach file thingy on the bottom here, but I don't think we are allowed to attach stuff like a profile on our posts. Like I said I don't know much about computer stuff.

OT: Cliffs of Dover Dev Diary
TSmoke replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I have to agree with Crossbones here OBD team does seem to understand what makes a sim a sim. Besides the only WW2 planes I ever liked were obsolete when WW2 started, ie. Devastator, Buffalo. But I sure love flying the Zero. -
I'm not a big wooooo hoooo fan. But have to give credit where it is due. Very nice!!!- scenery and the sunset pic is superb. Thanks for all your hard work.

OT: Cliffs of Dover Dev Diary
TSmoke replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Was reading the banana forums and there isn't very much positive to read about the sim. Will wait a few months and hope some of the issues get sorted out before buying this one. There does seem to be a fair number of cancelled orders as well. But the sim should be alright once some fixes get released. -
How Handy is the JS Generic Mod Enabler?
TSmoke replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
JSGME works with any game I have added mods to.I don't have a lot of time to spend on the computer these days. But it works in Silent Hunter 3 and 4 for sure. Works in Grand Prix Legends again seems like there all sims of one sort or another. If I can use it anyone can believe me. -
I've built WW1 models since the 60's.However the 60's plastic kits are worth some coin now. The quality is much better these days. Start cheap and find out your tolerance for dealing with the frustration that biplanes and such can create.Besides ruining a cheap model doesn't hurt nearly as much. It also offers you to experiment with different techniques to do the rigging. Never ever have I used thread of any sort. Strictly old school, heat and stretch the plastic spure, you can strech it so it is almost invisible, but takes some trial and error. You can also use telephone cable, pull the individual wires apart strip the insulation( time consuming) and generally there are a few wires wrapped together seperate and use. Thread of any sort I have always found to be to coarse. Personally if you want larger scale stuff go the balsa route, a nice lesson in patience and frustration LOL.

How do you fly "Over Flanders Fields"?
TSmoke replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The last question on your poll Olham is kind of misleading, at least for me. I always start campaigns from the earliest start date possible, and continue on from pilots death with a new recruit. So the pilots seem to complete more sorties than say one of the same nationality starting at a later date ie. mid 1917. Nice idea for the poll though. -
Thanks for all the suggestions. I like the copy paste suggestion best because it's easy to understand, so if I can get that anyone can. Have to agree with Polovski that The final duel is a classic, but watching it with the orchestra just adds that extra something special to it. Annie Lennox is my second favorite female singer, she has a marvelous voice.

I don't know how to show the movie music as you guys did because I'm computer stupid. That said my favorite WW2 war movie and theme is 12 O'Clock High My second favorite movie theme is a spaghetti western The Good,Bad and the Ugly. I only watch movies for entertainment, if I have to think to understand it, I'll never watch it twice.

I agree with you 100% there is far to much of that going on. I just wish that for 24 hours people who abuse animals could trade places with the animals being abused.

Hi have had FSX Deluxe installed on my old computer witn XP32 Pro SP3 and it ran without any hickups. Asus P5Q Deluxe board, quad core 2.4 -775 chip and 3gb of ram,9800gt 512mb vid card.Coolermaster 500watt PS. Built a new computer and use Windows 7 64bit Pro SP1. Asus sabreTooth X58 board with the drivers that came with the board, I-7 950 @ 3.07 1366 chip, 6gb ram, 460 1gb vid card stock drivers from the enclosed cd version 8.17.12.5922 and Corsair 650watt PS. Cannot get FSX Deluxe to install more than 30-33% of the way. The install hangs and I recieve the blue screen of death. The error code on the blue screen dissapears before I can get the error code. Have searched Google all afternoon, most common solution was to copy all the DVD files to a folder on the desktop and run setup from there. Still progress is the same and result is the same. The total files from the DVD's are 8.16gb. After 4 attempts of installing FSX in default Programs files 86x the FSX folder is sitting at 6.72gb. Do I keep trying to install over what is there and hope to christ it installs fully?? New as a freshly hatched chick to Windows7 and not liking it one bit. Ran dxdiag and it tells me everything is working, however I don't know how to attach it to this so maybe anyone else could look at it and tell me what the issue is maybe. Just figured out the attach thingy sorry. I don't belong to any FSX forums and I see that quite a few of the members here use FSX as well so thought here maybe a good place to start. Haven't tried to install OFF on this computer yet because of issues as this. On a side note all other programs and games have installed fine and work as they are supposed to, ie. Black Ops, Modern Warfare 1 and 2. Silent Hunter 3, IL2 1946. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You. DxDiag.txt

OK I pulled all of my RAM out installed one stick and rebooted 3 times per stick. They all booted up individually and in different slots. So that kinda ruled out the RAM issue. Killed all anti-virus crap and spyware junk. Managed to get through disk 1 and then it started on disk 2 ran for approx. 2 mins and stalled out, but no error messages or the dreaded blue screen. Unistalled what managed to install did the registry clean thing to get rid of all traces of FSX. Retied the install and holy crap it actually installed fully and it even runs. Bloody Microsoft can't they ever get anything right?? Anyways guys thanks for your help and ideas, it did help and is much appreciated.

Popular Music: Your absolute No. 1 all-time greatest Top Hit
TSmoke replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
One of my two favorite tunes is Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum. Sorry just can't pick one, the other is Chrissy Hyndes live version of Creep.
