OK thanks guys will give your suggestions a whirl. Reset the automatically start thingy so I can get the wonderful blue screen to stay and write down the code. Now that the RAM was mentioned on my other computer there was one time that the same thing happened and now that Parky refreshed my memory I had to do the exact same thing. Swap out one stick of RAM at a time to find the crappy one. Will give this a shot, at least the RAM has warranty. Yes I did try installing from the second DVD drive as well same result. Thanks for your help fellas.

Thats pretty funny because I have bought 2 of every IL2 release from day one, and can't give them away either. If I like the flight sim I always buy 2. Ticks me off if one copy gets ruined and no longer available, so I always buy 2.

What started your WW1 aerial interest?
TSmoke replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
What got me interested in WW1 and WW1 aircraft was a book our school carried. Being Canadian and back in the early 60's they did teach Canadian history, not like now. Any ways the books were printed or distrubted by MacMillian and they were a whole series devoted to Canadian history. The books title was Knights of the Air and it dealt only with Canadians. IE; William Barker, Billy Bishop, Raymond Collishaw,Donald MacLaren, Andrew McKeever ect. Some very interesting people in my opinion. For me it was like stepping back into time and watching the real thing. -
OT..Lucky?...some are just stoopid!
TSmoke replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
There were a few cases people being luck. As mentioned it's mostly people being stupid, and living with their heads stuck up their azz. -
We didn't do anything special. Picked my kid up at the airport so he was home, he's Navy so this Christmas home will be the last one for a while. Spend some quality time with my wife of 30 years, she works nights and I'm days. Then boxing day had to drive approx. 1400kms for my grandmothers funeral for the 27th. So that kind of took the shine off of Christmas.

Shopping for a motherboard. Need suggestions please!
TSmoke replied to Cameljockey's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I use the exact same board as the 2 guys posted previous. Have been using it for the past 3 and 1/2 years. Never ever had an issue with it. Had an Intel board prior it was a POS. -
I have a copy of that documentary Rabu. Save your money you will only be hearing the same ole stuff.

Wow cannot believe that not having the wife and kid(s) around for a few days is that big of deal. Personally for me I'm happier than a pig in chit when everyone is gone. Been married to the same person for over 30 years. IMO the trick is never ever ever take vacations with your spouse, work different hours, but have very similair intrests for when you are together. We have worked together in the same industy but for different people. Having to be much together time is just as bad for the relationship as not having enough. It's a fine line to walk but i like my life the way it is right now. I work days she works nights. Approx. 3.5hrs of being home together daily and then we have or weekends. Works for me and we do like it.

Have to agree with Flyby PC, the video is disturbing. It truly goes to show that there is no more dangerous animal than man. And to deny that such events happened just is freakin insane.

Found this site and found it really interesting, especially for any history buffs. The WW1 Magazine link was most interesting even if it is mostly french and german. It's easy to spend hours of your time here. http://www.allworldwars.com/index.htm

A late war Albatros 2 seater and the DH-4 2 seater. Both were used plenty in the later stages of the war. For early I'll go with the Morane , and an early frenchie 2 seater.

Built a new computer - need CFS3 / OFF setup help
TSmoke replied to Cobra427so's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I'm no computer guru but why not have a dual boot system? XP for OFF and other games you like, and ick Win.7 for the rest. I'd wait till Xp support is done myself. Thats what I'm going to do. -
Microsoft Announces Flight - Can OFF use this?
TSmoke replied to rabu's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well that really shows and tells you nothing. Looks like it will be a long wait, to see what it becomes. -
Are they on drugs!!!!, 30 bucks for one SE5. Seems we get an SE5 and a whole lot more for the same cash in OFF. Not yanking anyones chain for pointing out their release but to me the price is a tad steep.

Don't debate about buying Track IR, once you get used to it you'll wonder how you flew flight sims without it. I ordered Track IR3 Pro with the vector thingy and drove 8 hours to pick it up. You will LOVE it, and yes I also wear glasses, blind as a bat without them.

THE VINTAGE AVIATOR AIRSHOW 2010 in HD Part Three
TSmoke replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Watched the 3 parts, finally wiped drool of my chin. Sure would be a nice trip to see that many WW I planes in person. The german planes always sound so much better on their flybys, sound kinda mean and I like it. Thanks for posting the vids. -
OT: I Know It's Not OFF, But Still...
TSmoke replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I still prefer IL2 1946 with the HSFX mod over most other flight sims. SOW is what I am having a hard time waiting for. Thanks to Parky for the address from all aircraft simulations, and the log in info from AAA works fine there. Some of the AAA people went to sas1946.com More likely just about everyone reads both. -
Video Tearing in OFF - Who has it, Who doesn't?
TSmoke replied to rabu's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I use trak ir 3 with the clippy thing. I use a POS computer I built a few years ago. Window Xp Pro SP3 Asus P5Q Deluxe or something or other 3gig Corsair ram Quad core Q8600@2.4 not over clocked Nvidia eforce 9800gtx+ Cool Master 650W 2 500gb Western Digital 10000rpm 1 Maxtor 250gb 7500rpm Acer 22" monitor set at 1600*1200 My video card settings are exactly what are suggested at the O.F.F. website As for CFS3 config thingy all settings are what were suggested on the O.F.F website. For people having the jaggies I will still swear it has to to with your profile in track ir. I use a profile I liked in IL2 and use it here with no problems, I have a large dead zone in the pitch and yaw settings and a medium deadzone in the xyz settings. All settings in the xyz only have a value of 14 at the top ends. The pitch and yaw settings are to messed up to discribe here. Like I said it aint much of a PC compared to alot of others here, but I gots no jaggies, rain or shine. -
Why the blue jaggies from the Trak IR? I have about half the machine you have and use the same settings, without the blue jaggies with each quick head turn. Your Track Ir profile maybe?? Nice video and I find myself turning my head constantly while watching it, telling myself it's a movie, your not flying the sim.

A bunch of co-workers and myself went snowmobiling in Revelstoke, four weeks ago. Over a meter of fresh powder fell the night previous and another half a meter during our first day. Couldn't see more than 30-40 feet ahead of your machine, but had a blast. The next two days were perfect clear sunny and around -10C. With tons of new untracked powder to play in. Just have to be aware of the avalanche dangers. They aren't BSing when they say that they have the worlds finest powder for sledding. Last Victoria day we still had a couple of feet of snow and -20C, this year no snow thank you and +20C.

Military Vets and Current Military Members
TSmoke replied to Dave's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Nothing really special served 10 years in the Canadian Forces. During the mid 70's we were using antiques from the Korean war era. The pay sure sucked back then. I remember the first PMQ the wife and I lived in you could see outside under the base boards. Try living in that with our winters, where -30C is a nice day. But would do it all again in a heartbeat if I could. Miss the life style. -
Anti-Ubisoft DRM petition to sign
TSmoke replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Signed #7440. Love the Silent Hunter series, if 5 has this krap I won't be buying it. It probably won't change a thing as I'm sure it will apply to all of Ubisofts products which is a large market share with a wide variety of genres. If it applied to a niche market like OFF or Neoqp flight sim then maybe it will have results.
