Well my basic question was has anyone seen this yet? So if this IL2 mod that is not complete or even beta tested yet, is getting press where the hell is the press on OFF?? OFF is by far the best WW1 sim in my opinion, not that, that means diddly. But you have to look and I mean LOOK to find any press on OFF. The IL2 mod in my opinion again, will be miles ahead of OFF I'm afraid when it comes to the multi-player aspect of the game. Due to Hyperlobby that may be changed to allow the WW1 mod, there is also another multi-player lobby gismo in the works that IS adding the WW1 mod. However that program has yet to be released. I know it's Microsoft that is to blame for the craptastic multi-player option we have and not the developers of OFF. There are more off-liners that fly sims than on-liners so big question is ......Who's azz has to get kissed to get OFF some press time. Keep the chap stick handy we may need it.

Have to agree with uncleal the print is way to small. Would be nice if it was capable of making it a tad larger font.

Well after watching the video posted it has made up my mind that the russians can keep it. Yes the lighting is good, sounds mediocre, AI what freaking AI???, crash sequences suck seems I'm the only one who thinks so, clouds are border line.

Just curious if P4 might be recieving a new name and from what I've read here, no movie titles. If this is the case why is P3 named after a movie, yes it's a war movie, but what a crappy movie it was.

Personally I am with Cameljockey. However if the made the internet hookup for single player selectable and only update the game at my lesiure and if and when I decide to go multi-player, then I would buy it. Besides right now for 60 bucks and 2 planes I have no interest in it so it's not gonna happen.

I have had the same thing happen to me using trakir3 vector, i have a small lamp to see the key board and no lights on. Sometimes I forget the visor thingy and the trak ir still follows like I have the clip on, however I do wear glasses and in low light it follows just fine. If you tweak your profile with a fair size dead zone it is possible it will work. But!!! as uncleal says it works best with all the parts!!

I think that they had such a stink put up on their blog and forums from North America and parts of Europe for having it purchased by download only that they finally listened. Probably wishful thinking on my part but a hell of a lot better marketing stategy by having a hard disk to purchase that a craptastic download. Money makes the world spin and I think that they finally clued into the potential numbers of dollars that they could of missed out on. Still won't get my money due to the internet for SP thing, just my 2 cents.

All I can say is welcome and have a blast. I have been a flight simmer since I bought my first Apple2 in 1980. Have bought every stinking one and junked pretty much 95% of them ever produced. Have flown IL2 from the demo to 1946 and a few mods, was the cats azz until this jewel came in the mail. To be honest IL2 or 1946 or whatever you wish to call it has not had 1 seconds worth of flight time since I installed OFF Phase 3. It is the best out there, so have fun and welcome aboard.

It's a pain in the azz but write your wingies names down before you takeoff, takes the guess work out of filling in the claim forms. Take heed of what Dej suggested about the rest of the info for the forms. Have had very few denied if you follow his suggestions.

Pretty cool actually, try doing that 20 years ago, seems even the internet can get it right once in a blue moon.

Have to agree 100% with Catch...having to be online to play single player is 100% wrong, there really is no reply as to what or if there is a Single player campaign. It looks nice with the shadowing and sun reflections, but as for their marketing strategy well it blows. Personally I hope it flops, might be negative with such a limited WW1 sims but, until you don't have to be online to play single player they can shove ROF where the sun doesn't shine. My 2 cents!!

Used to be IL2 and Silent Hunter 3-4 occupied my free time. However since purchasing O F F I have yet to fire up any other game. This game is sweet.

That brings back a lot of memories, my friends and I would play Dawn Patrol for hours and days on end. One of the better air war type board games, and I still dig it out every now and then. The name escapes me, sumtimers disease I suppose.. there used to be a book form of a WW1 game, each plane ie DH2 VS Fokker EIII for the early years. That was also a blast to play. Still have them as well packed away some where. When I lived in barracks about a dozen of use used to play Risk using 5-6 boards and each game would take a week or better to finish. Kind of an interplanetary Risk game rules were created to allow transport of reinforcement from one board to another, good times and killed many a case of refreshments LOL.

Campaign only...learn to fly new aircraft on the way to the objective.

Just a quick reply I wear proggressive bifocals which suck for computers and use trak ir. Not to many problems with the blurries but you will tend to get some neck strain with the cockeyed angle you have to hold to head to get the clearest view of your monitor. But you get used to it LOL. I use a regular hat with the top cut off for my trak ir clip thingy, I hate hats as well but I stiched that clip onto my half azzed hat and have no major problems with trak ir and bifocals, just make sure you set the centering button on your joystick cause you'll need it alot just because of the reflective angle you need for the bifocals.
