  1. And a big thanks to you, RC! That's the type of optimism that's contagious.
  2. I bought an Acer 22" last year after my two year old 19" LCD dropped dead on me and it was out of warrenty by a month. Then the Acer had a PS problem and I had to ship it back to their service center for warrenty repair.. took about a week. From now on I am going to wait till local discount stores have something on sale where I can buy an extended warranty that includes an instant swap out if the monitor fails. The e-warrenties aren't that expensive and if you have ever been with out a monitor while waiting for repairs, it isn't worth it, IMHO. The 28" monitor looks great though, wish I had one too.
  3. Wow. so the visual advertising market isn't effective in the media? Hoho.. Oh well... Again, I hope more of you will get involved in what ever ways you personally think will help the most.
  4. You're welcome to try, just take them to a screen shop and see if they can do it.. no sales though, OK? Some of you might also want to try printing them out onto the iron on ink jet paper that is available.. it actually works pretty well.
  5. Who.. girls? There are lots of ways to approach this, I hope we see more of you getting involved in ways you think are best and would help the most.
  6. This is my effort, in my way, sorry you don't feel it is effective. Why not go do something you feel is better?
  7. Ya, it takes time to do everything, but if you don't try, it doesn't get done, right? We wouldn't have OFF itself if we hadn't spent a lot of time on it. Putting together a good movie could be done in a weekend by some one with the equipment and desire to help though. My earlier idea of creating a basic video like some of the ones shown on the Natural Point site showing views from behind the player, then from with in the game (which we have plenty of good ones of), could be easily given to Natural Point and to Tripple Head and some other companies where a lot of flight sim players visit. This would just be one way of getting a lot more exposure for OFF out there.
  8. Help us spread the word about Over Flanders Fields ~ Between Heaven & Hell The DL versions will all print up nicely up to Tabloid size (11x17). These are available in the OFF DL section under "Scenery & Ground Objects" ..Uhh.. Admin, maybe you could create a better folder name, like "Graphics," or "Other" and move this to that folder? Enjoy..

  11. I agree, and I don't know if it's possible, but good idea Siggi.
  12. How to Bath the Cat Thoroughly clean the toilet. Add the required amount of shampoo to the toilet water and have both lids lifted. Obtain the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids (you may need to stand on the lid so that he cannot escape). CAUTION: Do not get any part of your body too close to the edge, as his paws will be reaching out for anything they can find. The cat will self-agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from your toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a "power wash and rinse" which I found to be quite effective. Have someone open the door to the outside and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the outside door. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can and quickly lift both lids. The now-clean cat will rocket out of the toilet and run outside where he will dry himself. Sincerely, The Dog PS: Obviously, please do not bathe your cat using these methods. They are intended to be humourous for anyone who has ever tried to bathe a cat and found them uncooperative.
  13. Come on guys.. someone must be interested?
  14. Another excellent idea.. every thing helps. I also think Natural Point, the TrackIR manufacturer should have at least one good movie of OFF in action using thier IR4 and new clip. They already have 4 Aces High II films, Battle of Britain II, Combat Flight Sim3 and in 3d to boot, a whole bunch of FlightSimulator 2004 and FSX videos, 2 IL2S clips, etc., etc., but not one OFF video. And there have been some outstanding recent videos contributed by users, as well as by, of course, our resident film director, Pol de Loffty. What we would need is someone with a video camera to film sone one using TIR4 with OFF BHH, maybe with a tripple screen set up or something else impressive.. filmed over their shoulder and then the on screen effect as well. Kill two "birds" with one stone, send a copy to the TrippleHead manufacturer for viewing of their site as well. Here's a good one done of CFS3 way back with Track IR3 and 3d (click here) I know some of you guys here good do an even better job with OFF BHH
  15. Tony: I think you are going way over board here and exaggerating things.. I never was "singing the praises of CFS3 because it had 5 DOF," I was merely informing Graphos that it did, he seemed to not be aware that it did and he also wasn't aware that OFF was included in the listing at Natural Point. I was trying to tell PD that Widomakers comment would make sense, since Natural Point only shows 2 DOF for IL2 on thieir website supported games list and that that is why he said it. My other comment was that the UI.2 patch for IL2 is apparently a recent addition, which would again throw off any one knowing about it. Geese.. It seems to me that you are the one getting all bent out of shape, not me and the others. How about calming down and continuing with this thread, instead of trying to get everyone stirred up and throwing insults about, "childish," etc.? Let's have a true here, or it will get locked, OK? I think your earlier points were well intentioned, just as the others were, I also didn't think it was getting that out of control. I'm certainly not looking for an argument here, nothing to argue really, is there?
  16. CFS3 supported TrackIR from the start, 5 out of 6, roll not supported, but it isn't that big a deal. I agree, NaturalPoint should update their site if that's true about IL2, but they do have OFF listed with it's same 5 degree support as CFS3. I just found this forum entry on NaturalPoint.. apparently the UI 1.1 update you mention is fairly new.. any way, it's discussed on the forum for anyone interested in it, just (click here). Have never heard of getting jaggies in OFF using TIR, most of the players here use TIR and this is the first time I have heard that.. maybe you just have your settings wrong?
  17. PD: Maybe there is some confusion here about IL2.. If you go to the TrackIR website and look at the flight sim compatibility list, it lists IL2 Sturmovik as only supporting yaw and pitch.. see the page here Why would they misrepresent it?
  18. MK2: This is an amazing collection, don't know how you managed to find these things... I hope, when you decide to "fly over those last mountains" you will donate your collection to one of the WWI oriented museums where it won't be lost to posterity. Thanks so much for sharing it all with us.
  19. Interesting, CH, what system do you have, just curious..
  20. Wheel Chocks

Chalk it up to good memory.. yes you did.. WM's ground crew from August 2007 ..but.. where are the Chocks? BTW, I think it would be a good addition to the game too, OP.
  21. Bristol Scout

Yea, best to keep your eyes on your 6 and your map etc. There are lots of little pecularities in games, like wheels that also don't rotate exactly on their certers, along with props, etc. But good to know about, maybe down the road we can fix it, for now, just pretend like it's an optical illusion?
  22. Winston's tracers and smoke mod

Thanks everyone, and thanks to Winston for pointing it out and finding the xml script edits to improve it.
  23. They are both really busy, but if this thread gets enough attention they will respond.. they kinda watch for things that seem to be most important to everyone, as they can't satisfy everyone's wishes, unfortunately. I also like the idea of the parking breaks/chocks, but am not seeing any other responses.. Maybe, if you can get some others interested in this as well it will get some attention.
