LATEST UPDATE PATCH V1.28 IS NOW AVAILABLE!
Aussie Pilot replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hey Pol, it is the wrong patch. I got 1.26 again, is the link to the patch on your site correct? -
How do I go to 2X or 4X warp ( to stop violent pitch)?
Aussie Pilot replied to CW3SF's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Guy's check the violent pitch thread again, we may have solved the problem. -
Hi Pol/Winder, I just flew all these mission and recorded all this stuff for you "THEN" i saw this last post by you Pol... damn it...lol You are right, thats the problem. I tried my pup without auto trim and the problem was gone. I turned it on and off several times through two different flights with my pup and the problem came and went each time i turned it on and off. I new we'd get to the bottom sooner or later. I did mean to try this the other day when i believe you mentioned it then, but i ran out of time, then forgot. It is one of my usual procedures just to turn it on, never thought it would become a problem. Why didn't it cause problems before 1.26 and is it fixable? Trim as you know can't be set on the ground without several test flights in a row to get it right. Of course we don't get that Luxury in sims so i figured autotrim would save the mucking around of doing it in flight all the time, it's not like the pilot's back then were able to adjust it while flying along,(well in the majority of their planes anyway) unlike today. I haven't had time to test the Camel and N17 yet but i'm sure the reports will come flocking in.

Hi Winder/Pol. I have windows XP SP3, MSFFB stick, Nvidia Geforce 8600gt 256mg card, 4 gig ddr2 ram, AMD 64 3200+ cpu, 22" monitor, Asus motherboard. Saitek pedals and Quadrant. Sliders set to 4,3,3,4,1. I use auto trim everytime and manual mixture and never had an issue with this prior to 1.26. I'm patched to 1.26 then the hot fix and it still happens. I will try and fly a mission tonight and get the files off to you. I will also try resetting things as said after i get the file's first and then try again. I will also try the mixture setting you said WM using the key pad instead of my quadrant just in case there is a difference.

Winder, I don't have time to try that test right now, we are going away for a couple of days. For me though i was flying campaigns with campaign generated weather, cloud fog on and it's spring. I was coming out at varied heights between 3000ft to 7000ft and it happened every time. It was clear weather every time, no clouds around me and no turbulance once flying straight and level again afterwards. I could let go of the stick and she'd fly by herself. cheers for looking into to this, it is rather odd.

Hi Winder, again, sorry mate for the head ache's you don't need. Well i reinstalled the patch and the hotfix even though it's not related but there is no change. I tried the camel as well this time and it does the same (just like the N17) but nowhere near as bad as the pup. What changes did you make to the aircraft that could cause an adverse effect because they we all great with warping before this patch?
-
Hi Winder, i gave it another go this evening and it's no good. I tried full mixture, starved mixture, mixture just above starved and engine clicking over, then a fraction more. I tried full throttle, backed off throttle and i still ended up dropping out of warp, then instant nose down quite violently, red out with damage warnings flashing up. I didn't mater what setting i had. I'd lose a 1000 ft in 3 seconds or less. I usually set my mixture manually then hit warp in straight and level flight doing about 100mph. I never had the issue before, it's a weird one. I guess i'll try and reinstall the patch again tomorrow.

My flight model is set to realistic. I have realism at 130. I'll try it again tomorrow with even less mixture. I usually back it of until it splutters and then just add a bit. Maybe i'm adding a bit to much still but can't hear the difference in the engine. I can hear it running rough again when i have full mixture on at high Alt but found a happy medium when backing it off. I'll keep you posted.

G'day Winder, i see you have answered my thread as well as Gwar, thankyou, may as well keep it in one thread though i spose. Thanks for the tests you have done, but can i ask if you could please try the Pup when you get a chance. I have been using the mixture controls as you say for some time now and it made no difference with the Pup. I flew the N17 today as well and it was no where near as bad as the Pup. If you try it and it works let me know your mixture settings please. After i survived the exit warp dive i did fiddle with my mixtures for best altitude settings but it ended up in the same place i set them before warping anyway. It's just weird how it was all ok before 1.26 and now its all bad. cheers mate, much appreciated.

Guys, Since installing 1.26, (which is great by the way) i have noticed when exiting warp in my Pup it takes a major nose dive to the ground rather quickly. I have been flying this same plane before 1.26 and it wasn't happening then. Just thought you might want to know. No wise cracks about using warp either . With 55 hour work weeks a wife and two kids i'm lucky just to turn my PC on...

Sopwith Pup & Warp since 1.26
Aussie Pilot replied to Aussie Pilot's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
After my third mission and several warps within it my game seems to have crashed after i landed because when going back to the manager i had the windows "send, don't send" report come up and nothing new in my manager. I lost the whole flight and the two claims from it. I had just upped the ground object density from medium to high to see the difference to it could be that that caused the crash. -
Sorry Gaw, i just posted the same thing...you beat me...lol

G'day guys, I see now the difficulties section has "Main guns" and "Rear guns" with setting option easy, normal and hard that effect both player and ai. What is the difference between Normal and Hard and what setting were we roughly flying with in 1.25?
-
Wow, what a difference one patch makes.

Guy's, for what it's worth, my last mission i flew in my Pup I shot down 7 ALB D111 and ALB D111(160), ok i did die as well in the end but this was done with only 480 rounds, of which i still had some left before dieing, BUT the thing is, i haven't put the new patch in yet. So getting 7 kills in a mission isn't unheard of, you just got to get it right everytime and get lucky at the same time. I just stuffed up on the last one by colliding with it as it was going in. I had DiD on so probably would have been a visit to Nurse Gladys otherwise, it was that close to the ground. I am looking forward to the new patch though. -
Picture 1. 1) (Trackir window) Start trackir, go to the profile you use, select and hit edit. 2) (cfs3 window, my profile name) Highlight Yaw, select edit yaw. 3) (Curve editor window) notice flat spot in the middle 4) (Curve editor window) select mirror values if you want both sides the same, ie looking left and right. 5) (Curve editor window) these little markers are point where you can move the shape of the curve. You can either drag them with the mouse or select one and use the up/down value on the right. Picture 2. 1) Same as first picture but Pitch this time. 2) You'll see the right side, (for looking down) is different from the left (so i had mirror values of when i made this even though it now shows on.) I did this like this so when i look down it is more of bigger movement so i can quickly see my gauges, but i still have the flat spot in the middle. Make a copy of your profile before messing about with it and you'll be right.

Guy's Trackir is a great tool but to get the best from it you need to play with the profiles. To avoid having to hit F12 everytime you want to shoot at something and for more stable veiwing create a flat spot or dead zone right where your target is. In the profile set up you can adjust each movement seperately to suit what you want. I took the veiw of looking left/right and up/down and created a flat spot right in the middle of the view curve. That way when i start a flight i hit F12 once when sitting in the cockpit then i'm good to go for the whole flight or afternoon if i don't get out my chair. When flying around, if i looking from left to right i get a small area of no movement right where my target is, and again for looking up and down, it's like Trackir stops working for that split second you are looking through your target until you move your head past that point again. This way when watching your enemy in front of you and you get him in your target you know your shooting straight because any small head movement at that point will not be picked up by Trackir and therefore spoil your shot. I'll try and post some pictures from the profile setup over the weekend if not tonight.
