Hey, where is your other wingman JOKER??? hahahaha. If not for multiplayer, I would probably not have purchased this sim. Works great.

Great shot DUCK! Was that after I had my ahhhh,"Kamikazee" experience with that destroyer? oops, wrong theater of war eh? I hate to admit this but at one point I was actually dogfighting with my shadow on the water before I realized it was just my own shadow!!! What a wast of ammo...lol Joker

I think it would be fun to "occasionally" play a mission when we have say 6-8 pilots, where some are allies and some axis, if that is possible. Would be nice to have the extra variable of real pilots attacking each other or trying to complete their mission while the other side is doing the same thing or trying to prevent you from completing your mission. Could even put half the pilots on one teamspeak channel and the other half on another channel so they can discuss strategy..Of course I don't even know if this type of scenario is possible.

It's ready! The new Madmatt OFF Essential MP Files Autoinstaller
phantomjoker replied to Madmatt's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks for all of your hard work Matt. We certainly appreciate it and also the other creators of the included files as well. Joker. -
Or a mission oriented MP game with some on allies and some players on axis? I enjoy it all actually.

Hey folks...I can vouch for the folks here. They are very patient and helpful at getting you up and running in multiplayer. Pretty easy to install the files needed as well. -
I hope to be there as well. One suggestion, when referring to the needed downloads, it would be helpful to post the link to the download in your email, making it easier to find. I was trying to find the Gotha for my friend and forgot where it was. Thanks much. Steve

Now that game was fun! Thanks for the session. More people should join in on multiplayer! Joker.

future of doves and hawks with bhah

Hang in there Stump. I persisted for 4.5 months to get this sim working on my computer...During that on and off period, I tried everything and learned a lot about my computer in the meantime..It turned out to be that my OFF didn't like my perfectly good pair of 7800GT graphic cards. Replacing them with a single 280GTX has solved everything. Last night was my very first multiplay game with the folks here and it was so much fun. Keep at it. You are more experienced than I and I am sure you will solve the problem. Best wishes. -
Geez, remember me Joker who's puter kept crashing? Man joining this new forum was like pulling teeth and watching water drip. What an ordeal..Seems would not take my Joker name, thus the PhantomJoker moniker! Anyhow, to continue the previous discussion of OFF constantly locking up. I cleaned it all off the puter as well as CFS3 and all registry information. Then I reinstalled CFS3 and the 3.1 patch and played. Crashed and locked up right off the bat. Not even any OFF installed yet. I am so frustrated at this. I wish I could find the problem. As you all know, I have tried EVERYTHING. I have even started up and played with no items running except the basic items. But the graphics card is always running. Is ayone else running a pair of 7800GT graphics cards? (yes I have even tried one card alone) Maybe I should sell the pair and buy a 280GTX to try. Go back to a single card? I dunno. Remember, all other sims working fine and spunky.

Thanks Pol. It is a great sim with beautiful graphics! :)

Ah Swansea...Know Boston well though...my #1 son graduated Berklee! Just started adjusting the tweaks to improve smoothness as per the suggestions on the forums...After I did that, I started a game but it would not load, kept coming back to the same screen over and over. Put my settings back to defaults and all was fine again. Starting to get into it to fine tune now.

Sitting Duck....I am in don't laugh, SEEKONK, MA...but it is really 10 minutes outside of Providence RHODE ISLAND. Seriously it is that close to another State....wanna check my work out: www.sjbaraophoto.com www.powmiafilm.com That's what keeps me busy! LETS FLY!

Hey Sitting Duck...Doggone...I just read this or I would have been in your game..Hey Boston eh? I am in Massachusetts too, just outside of Providence.

Well my friends. THE LONG SAGA IS OVER! I am flying OFF with no problems..It only took 4.5 months of effort, endless help by the folks here, and about $500 on my part. I am holding the solution till the last so you all will have to be patient. First off, I cannot thank all of you enough for your tolerance, helpful suggestions and more. I have had people here email me, send me utilities, test graphic cards on their own machines and alter my BIOS. Here is what finally fixed it: I have no idea why but OFF did not like my eVGA 7800GT graphic cards either running in SLI or alone. I picked up a new LCD monitor and an eVGA 280GTX card and my problems went away. It is still a mystery though because those 7800GT cards are operating fine and work fine in all other sims. Oh and BTW, true to my luck, the first 280GTX card that came in was dead on arrival...sigh....But the replacement is working fine. Thanks again folks..I hope to see you on a multiplayer night.....I might even let you shoot me down because of your kindness......NAH!!!!!! hahahha. JOKER

Yep, I agree....It is my level of patience that is allowing me to do this. Maybe because it is a release from the work day, that is the only reason I hang on with this. Othewise, I would have already filled the OFF disk with 9mm hollow point rounds! Hey your opinion is valued my friend as much as all the others. I appreciate it.Tonight I: uninstalled, re-installed, patched and restarted between each step and installed to the default C: drive instead of my usual D: Drive, and used disk 1 of CFS3 instead of disk 2. This, trying to change it up a little. No JOY. Locked right up. My game plan is now: 1.) Mess a little more with the BIOS 2.) Buy the doggone new graphics card 3.) Re-install the operating system in that order.

Hi Over50....I am still keeping in the loop here because now this is an exercise for my mind more than anything else. You made a good point where I will try an uninstall of OFF and re-install.....Like Tamper said, first removing the uisel file won't do anything because it will just cause me to re-install anyhow. Now if I do the re-install and it works, that should tell us something. It is an interesting prospect though. In the meantime, I am making slow tweaks to the BIOS with some help. I looked at the CFS3 disk and it has some soft scratches on it so don't know if that is an issue. When I installed CFS3 though, no errors were indicated.

Well folks. Here is the latest try with "NO JOY" I reset my graphics in Workshop, from no antialiasing to 4 samples, result, lockup after one minute Uninstalled CFS3 completely. Reset Workshop Set to my 1280x1024x32, antialiasing to 4, result locked right up set CFS3.EXE to suggested settings in Nvidia control panel Locked right up at the airstrip. deleted the CFS3.EXE overide in Nvidia control panel Locked up again, could hear sound ok at this point but totally locked up, can not even control alt delete out of it. In over 3 MONTHS! of trying this, the only thing that has allowed me to fly a couple of over and hour sessions was applying the suggestion of deleting the uisel file but that cause me to have to reinstall the OFF program. It was fine until I went into the CFS#.EXE icon inside OFF. After that, I was back to crashing and locking up and I didn't even change anything there. All I did was open it up! Anybody think my CFS3 disk is bad? Anybody getting sick of this..I am Joker
-
Yes Polovski, The OFF install is in a separate folder than CFS3. What do you mean by the compatibility setting of cfs3.exe in the CFS3 folder and the CFS3.EXE which is in the OFF folder..I thought they did not communicate with each other in the first place?? I am indeed working with a forum member here who is looking at my memory settings in my BIOS. Will report further. I think I should delete or uninstall CFS3 totally now so there are no conflicts. That may not be the best though in case I need to re-install OFF. Then I would have to put CFS3 back on first. I dunno..Maybe I will wait a bit on that.

Ok, an update...ADMIN Please read..I think this is a software issue to advise on: After the above, I flew OFF successfully throughout the day on and off...Fly, leave computer on, fly, shut down computer off, start computer, fly. Each time I was able to fly as much as I wanted and properly leave the program. Seemed to work fine. I would guess over three hours total all day and one time was 1.5 hours straight with no problems. Then my friend was having some install problems and he asked me to go into the OBD/Flanders folder and click on CFS3.EXE icon and that brought me to the multiplayer window..I did nothing else but then exit that...Ever since then, I am back to locking up and having to reboot the computer. This is a graphics issue and tied into some mixup of the software files. I noticed that in regular CFS3, there is a duplicate file as above mentioned but it is in lower case. It is cfs3.exe, in OFF, it is CFS3.EXE, all capitals. I don't know if that is an issue or not but it was ok until I clicked on that and I think that playing for over and hour and a half straight rules out all the other techic stuff with BIOS and RAM. WHAT NEXT????? Can I take that doggone CFS3 program and delete it now that OFF is installed..Can I remove any reference to it on my computer or do I have to leave it there....I think the two programs are getting things mixed up. Both BTW, are installed on my D: drive, not the default C: drive that it wants to be installed to.....Ok Flanders folks...chime in. Thanks.

Ok friends, The PhantomJoker is back! I told you I would be..More filming on the documentary taking up most of my free time..Ok, I may be fixed but would you call flying for an hour and a half error free, "FIXED" I am not totally sure but it is the longest I have been able to use the program. Here is the recent history: Reflashed my BIOS and set to defaults. Entered game and it crashed immediately. Remembering that someone said to deliete the USIEL file, I did that. OFF would no longer load and I got a message to uninstall and reinstall which I did. Set graphics to default which is I think 800x600x16, all graphics in game set for 2 except for clouds at 1, antialiasing off. I also unchecked forcefeedback which I don't have. Entered game and could play but graphics were flickering badly...figured I would crash any second but did not. Frams Per Second shown, was .94....dog slow Changed graphics to 1014x768x16, antialiasing off and entered game. Flew ok but some flickering but better. Changed graphics to 1024x768x32, antialiasing off and this is how I flew for the hour and a half with no flickering. Frame rate was showing 74 FPS which I don't believe. I always thought this was graphics related and as one poster mentioned, even though I am running SLI, I only have 256mb on those cards and they could be filling up quickly. Only can tell when I get a new card with more memory. For now, I will keep trying at these settings to see how it goes. Will report more. Once again, thanks to all. The Phantom Joker!

Hey folks...Checking in here from Virginia where I am filming my docu. Will be back to New England in a few days and will address all the BIOS issues and report more specifics here..I can say from memory though that my motherboard is indeed an eVga. See 'ya all" in a few days. "ya all" the southern dialect is rubbing off on me already....when I speak down here they look at me like I have three heads..hahaha

Tamper...Real good info: Here is my RAM http://www.mushkin.com/doc/products/memory_detail.asp?id=519 Since we have the same motherboard, I would really appreciate some information if you have the time, on how to set up the RAM to be more stable in your opinion. I am really not the knowledgeble as far as tweaking the settings of RAM, in the BIOS. I can get to BIOS and change stuff etc. but don't really understand what all the numbers indicate..If you can make some suggestions, I will try them in a week when I return from my location shoot. Thanks buddy. Steve
