May I ask then what effect version 1.32e will have? I am still in the loop but for various reason of frustration with too many patches and versions, busy with my work, too hot in the house where my gaming computer is, and downright enjoying the summer weather has taken my attention. When I do return however, what the heck should I do: Fortiesboy, yes or no? Damage models, yes or no? XML files remove or leave? yes or no? 1.32e? yes or no? Put my backed up folder of stock aircraft back in? yes or no? All those custom missions, cloud turbulence, Mad Matt's, Gotha????????l Yes or No? Ditch the entire game and start with a fresh install?????????? sigh............ Joker

Been busy lately but every time I check in here, there is some new something or other patch and conflict for multiplayer. Multiplayer is all I am interested in but this is really turning me off. I think I will just cool it for awhile until a consensus is made. I have done so many patches, then removing files and such that I have no idea where I am with this any longer..Maybe I should just re-install the program and start fresh..But, not until a consensus is determined. Have enough complexity in my life without getting into all this..compliments to the folks hanging in there testing everything though. I will monitor every now and then to see what is going on. joker.

Sunday Multiplayer Sessions Going Forward
phantomjoker replied to Vasco's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Multiplayer
Hey Buddy; Engine, tranny, gearbox, drivetrain, all TR6. The rest is TVR tweaked and all fiberglass. Last summer a 17 yr old girl on a cell phone decided to rear end us as my wife and I were stopped at a traffic light. As if a yellow TVR in broad daylight was not visible enough! $14 grand damage but the car is now sorted out even better than before. Here is a link to my car. The yellow one. http://www.sjbaraophoto.com, look in the "about" section. -

Can't play Sunday...Best Man and his wife visiting but will be wishing you all well. Vasco, thanks for keeping this going and also for your diplomacy. Joker p.s. Best man and I will however be looking at our LBC cars. (Little British Cars) We both have 1974 TVR 2500M buggies..Check em out.http://www.hemmings.com/users/140094/ride/268.html Built in Blackpool England, estimated only 200 left in the world of this model. Sorry to digress! -
Winston's Early Birds - 02 Aug 09
phantomjoker replied to Vasco's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Multiplayer
Yep, I rely on my tac as well. It was very encouraging to see so many players. I would estimate 11-12? Gameplay went well until we lost all power in our house due to an electrical storm. Then it came on about 10 seconds later. Track IR never worked properly after that. Subsequently, a restart fixed all but too late for me to join the second round. I might suggest in future multiplay scenarios that we limit or eliminate the AI aircraft as they seem to be a burden on the hosting player's computer as it has to keep track of all that information. Perhaps that is the cause of the odly acting enemy aircraft seemingly flying backwards at times. With as many human pilots as we had today, maybe a big dogfight over the strike zone would be fun for all as well. A waypoint for attacking planes to stafe an enemy airport or bust some balloons? And the other side defending against the same. All with similar aircraft that perform equally the same. Just my 2 cents. It was great fun. -

super patch recommendation
phantomjoker replied to sitting_duck's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Multiplayer
All this patching is getting a bit confusing..New super patch coming out? Oh boy, what will that do to the multiplay function? And Fortisboy 1.2 now? then Hardcore over it? and then remove bdp files or something? What the heck are bdp files anyhow, and where are they located? No wonder we have been playing ARMA 2 lately..This is getting a little out of hand in my opinion. Granted, I am not a techie wiz though. Joker -
I have been flying flight sims since 1984. In my humble opinion, the longevity of a flight/combat simulation is directly related to it's multiplayer function. Single player campaign missions are fun and amazing but after awhile, there is ultimately something lacking. That "something" is the interaction of another human pilot making snap decisions and forming strategy, all the while interacting with fellow pilots by speaking to them in real time on Teamspeak. Just my opinion but this is a formula that works and has worked for a long time. OFF is a great simulation that could be made historic and even more popular by ironing out a few small bugs in the multiplayer gameplay.

OFF mp current state
phantomjoker replied to Broadside uda Barn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
OVS, I am with you on this. For me, the multiplayer experience playing with and against real thinking individuals is unmatched. The multiplayer engine is really not all that buggy. It has a few issues but for the most part, it runs really smoothly and we can fly a one hour cooperative mission with no lockups or crashes, and then return to base and land at our originating airfield. Very nice indeed. Also the folks that have taken the reigns of the multiplayer games are very patient and helpful. I have even joined a 6 player game 5 minutes late and they actually shut down the game and restarted it so I could join..Now I don't expect that they do this all the time but it was a nice gesture. (Not to mention our British cousins who are joining in the fun more and more. Hearing those authentic accents makes it all the more realistic) Great fun. More of you should give it a go. -
More on Grave or Accent
phantomjoker replied to GeorgeBoles's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
I understand the IR from Track IR is very low intensity but I am not totally sure it is completely safe for the eyes (long term) if one is too close to the transmitter. I think they recommend being 18 inches away from the device. Should be fine at that distance from what I have read from the manufacturer. -

Alpha, you been drinking again...I think he likes to do this just to see if his gunner will throw up! -
Great job Stump..These look great. Been flying sims since 1984 and to me, Multiplayer is what makes it the most interesting. Nothing like flying with or against a good ole human being. Having a furball with everyone using different skins would make the eye candy even more attractive. BTW, mulitplayer works very smoothly and stable here. Congrats to the developers. A few bugs with the aircraft and their positioning but pretty minor and perhaps will be addressed at some point in the future. And what a joy to fly with our very polite cousins from accross the big pond! How authentic is this when your wingman says in a real British accent: "Joker, would you be so kind as to Bugger OFF, because you are getting a little too close to my wingtip" hahahaha, great fun and I hope they join us more often. da-Joka

Scored a set of pedals
phantomjoker replied to Rickitycrate's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes but how do you get these to hook up to USB????? I have the old old ones too and just use them for a foot rest. The connection is a bit convoluted. I once tried a USB adapter but nothing worked. -
FYI, looks too contrasty Joka

Hahaha, Duck, you crack me up lol. Hey folks, that Axe mission was lots of fun. Hope I can make it back from a meeting Saturday in time to mix it up a little. Hope to be there. Hey you Brits ever hear of a TVR? It's a LBC (little British Sports car) made in Blackpool, England.. Mine is a 1973 vintage. Real hoot to drive but definately need to carry a full set of tools with you :)

Sitting Duck...I think you were referring to Saburu, my framerate seemed ok. As a sidenote though, I did go in and do the tweaks to the FPS to set the maximum at 30fps, even though I notice it does go higher than that..Guess I am a little confused on this but it seems to be working ok.
