A Kill Claim Change I Have Implemented In My DiD Campaigns
chrispdm1 replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
or just go into the game files and find that claim and give it a 100.... -
Yeah, I just love getting missions in the Somme region that send you up north of Ypres.... can't the RNAS do their own dirty work?
-
Its looking great!! you guys are doing an awesome job! Any chance of correcting the location of some of the major cities that seem to be in the wrong spot... Ypres, Verdun, Paris... those are the ones I've found in my mapping.

Test your knowledge and experience WWI pilots!

19/20 #11 mixed me up, I should have read it closer, probably wouldn't have got it anyways. I was kinda shocked I got the zeppelin, I totally guessed at it. -
THe other thing that happens quite a bit is that the balloons gets shot down by ground fire accidentally... As you attack they start to shoot at you and inadvertently hit the balloon. It doesn't take much to down it.. just a close ack ack burst will do it.

I am looking for World war 1 maps that I can use to map out aerodromes out on. I have found a couple that have served my purposes well (rabu's awesome maps and the couple I've dug up off the internet.) I need fairly detailed maps showing rivers, roads, railroads, towns, larger wooded areas and prefereably in color. Terrain helps out a bit but its not necessary. I am currently working on a Large scale western front that will show where each of the current maps boundaries are. I also have to finish off the Argonne map. The current maps I have cover the front and quite a few miles back from it from the coast all the way to just past Verdun. I'm missing about a 5-10 mile strip between the Aisne/Marne and Argonne maps. I'd really like good Alsace or lorraine map to do.

I'm going to echo Winston and say that Hardcore is too hardcore and normal is nice until someone gets on your tail for 1.5 seconds and hits all main functions leaving you helpless... I haven't tried intermediate but it sounds like it should work pretty well, I'll have to download it.

Should the DFC not be replaced with the MC?

Your consensus of AA ( Archie) in game
chrispdm1 replied to Womenfly2's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I found that RB3d had good archie IIRC, you could see the general area where the planes were that were getting shot at but rarely did it hit anything, it also stopped below a certain altitude and when friendly planes engaged. On OFF BHAH I cannot use it to pinpoint anything... it seems to be nearly random. It still fires as you are engaging the enemy and I usually see bursts within a couple feet of the ground when dogfighting at treetop level. -
I may buy ROF if I happen to see it... I was pretty impressed by the videos and scren shots I started seeing several months ago but then its fallen apart for me... 1. Being logged into the internet is a big no-no for me... just a pain in the neck... 2. THis things bills itself as what? "Rise of flight" so how come its rising in 1917.... to have that for a name its gotta go right back to the original duels... voisons, bristols, aviatiks.... oh wait it only comes with what? 4 planes? Or does it even come with that... 3. When I want info on it, how come their game website is in russian and hard to find anything in english. And what is in English is crappily translated... They have to realize that North America is a bigger market than Russia whether its being developed there or not. Look at games like Blitzkrieg for that. 4. What info. is out there for what its singleplayer playing is like, etc... pretty much nothing. THis game is going to have to have a really awesome price for me to look at it.

Couple of items I'd like to discuss...

I have minor issues I ran into as well. In the OFF manager the distances are stated in miles but are actually kilometers... And I'm positive Ypres went missing... I know it was (wrongfully) located amongst all the ballieul aerodromes. But I went on a mission last night and there was only a couple houses there. I don't remember seeing it next to the front either (in its rightful location) on the mission... did it disappear or am I going crazy... -
you cannot claim balloons except on balloon destroy missions, one of the limitations of the game as balloons are considered ground targets and are only claimable under the right circumstances

Awesome sim, well worth the wait! After playing it for 5 straight hours into the wee hours of the morning.... (8 downed, none confirmed in a DiD/W campaign) I have a couple questions... mostly holdovers and features that I grew used to and liked in RB3D. I would like to be able to request tranfers, or is there a feature that I haven't found yet? Is there a kill board for everyone so i can see my standing as compared to the other aces friendly or otherwise? Is there any way I can look and see the intelligence info for the surrounding squads? After going gungho in the first couple missions and finding myself on the ground after all the engagements, I must say that I am having to take a very different approach to this sim as opposed to any other, especially when it comes to 2 seaters. We'll see how long my pilot lasts...

I have added a Verdun and vicinity map to the downloads section. It has the aerodromes mapped on it. thanks to OlPaint's spreadsheet I can probably do just about any decent map pretty quickly. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=8858

I am unable to upload a file into the downloads section. After a few minutes and the green bar gets all the way across it gives me a "this page is unavailable" message from IE. am I the only one having trouble? anything I can do to fix this?
-
It worked on a different computer... go figure...

its into the maps/mission section, which I have uploaded files to before... its just 6 jpg's in a .zip folder... total size is about 4-5 mb.
-
I just tried it with Firefox and I got a blank screen after it was "done" uploading... I'll have to take it to another pc and try it there maybe.
-
Yep, I can do that.... I'll still be able to edit the first post and add new links? because I'm working on a couple more maps.
