Hey OlPaint, I actually have rabu's Somme maps all ready to go (and rabu's permission), but I've been having trouble uploading them... I'm actually just sitting around on call today at my weekend job (ambulance) today, so I'll try again... perhaps the files are too large...

How to open a Skins.dds document....

Or just use Paint.net, open it, work on it, and save it again all with the same program. -
Flanders map is already done and posted.

One of my favorite pilots and stories from the Great War. Sadly Mcleod died during the influenza epidemic. He came from Stonewall, MB not far from my own birthplace of Ashern, MB. Another VC winner and great ace came from nearby Dauphin, MB: William Barker -
Rabu's maps have had all the aerodromes placed on them and they have been labeled in a legend on each map as well. Please check the downloads section. They are mapped as they were in early 1916. There are some accuracy errors as the in game location of some cities does not correspond with their actual location. Apparently this is hardcoded into MCFS3. Ypres is the one I found that has the most innaccuracy. We have not completed figuring out the nationalities of the Allied aerodromes, and do not know if this will happen along with labeling which aerodromes switched hands. My best advice is to laminate and make your own notes as the war progresses. THe file had been corrupted during the first uplaod, but it should be fixed now...

Thanks all, Big thanks to rabu OP, and dirk. Yes Olpaint, I did use your spreadsheet especially when it came to naming the aerodromes.

Were are the best British squadrons
chrispdm1 replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I'm flying 56, they get the Se5 the earliest and come over to the continent on April 6th, 1917. They have Ball and Hoidge for aces that I can think of of the top of my head, quite a few more listed. They are based at Vert-Galant They would definately be up there. -
Yeah I learnt to appreciate my wingmen at lunch... I got seperated from my flight and pounced on by 2 albatros III's while the other 3 remaining albatrosses flew high cover. I managed to knock down the 2 that were attacking me causing the other 3 to dive and attack, they were joined by a flight of 2 aces... all of a sudden my 2 wingmen flew to my aid drawing off 3 of the attackers. By the time I had managed to down the 2 attacking me they had knocked down 2 and we all chipped in and knocked the last one down. 7 albatross III's downed in Bloody April for no losses is a pretty good feeling.

File Name: Flanders maps File Submitter: chrispdm1 File Submitted: 26 Apr 2009 File Updated: 27 Apr 2009 File Category: Maps, Missions, and Campaigns Here is rabu's maps with all the aerodorme locations mapped out as they were in early 1916. there is also a legend on each map with the name of each aerodrome. I just have a generic 3 way tricolor as the emblem for the allies as we have not fully distinguished which aerodromes were used by which country of the Entente. Please be aware that things are not exact... in some places the locations of certain things in game varies when compared to the map. The location of the city of Ypres is one that comes to mind. Balloons - spontaneous combustion?
chrispdm1 replied to wsmwsm's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I always chalked it up to artillery from the other side. Very common to be taken potshots at the balloons with timed fuses. I was reading an account of one observer who had a bout with a gun they nicknamed (5 second charlie). I believe his balloon was shot down 3 times in one day before he finally was able to get up long enough to locate and call in a shoot on the gun. -

where does a guy have to put these files to get them to work? I thought I had it figured, but I guess I don't... I'm really wanting to test some skins on this hanriot too... -
The only problem I have with the 2 seaters is that they are able to shoot through the surfaces of their plane. its annoying to make a front quartering pass and have the observer shootat you through the wing or struts... I don't mind the accuracy too much, just adjust your attack. I always climb above and dive on them from 9 or 3 starting my dive from out of range. I find I only take hits usually as I pass underneath them.

my thoughts exactly... I can never do more than 2 attack missions in a row on a campaign without being shot down. But the percantage that is assigned to ground fire is huge if a guy is trying to play DiD. THe solution: I don't play DiD.

My first skin (THe Crocodile)
chrispdm1 posted a topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
Tell me what you think, this is my first attempt at skinning for OFF. I have uploaded it into the skins for download. I have always liked this scheme since I saw it a couple years ago and decided to try skinning it. This is Bristol F2b C4879 which was photographed at TDS Witney.
