  1. Yeah, you'd need to cut it, where the "crack" is, and then move the right part to the left a bit - only 4 - 6 pixels, I guess.
  2. The Dr.1 is not a plane for running away - Voss would never have been able to escape 5 S.E.5a - he had to take them on. Yes, sometimes the skins lie on the model in a funny way. The Alb D.II also has such a "break" - but only on the port side. Here it comes handy, when you can work with "Layers" - you can cut and adjust the wave line, 'till it fits.
  3. Ulti, I haven't used it for a while, but I remember, that you shouldn't try to climb in tighter turns. She would stall sideways. If your opponent can climb and turn (Nupes can do that very well), you should keep the nose at horizon level and follow his turn. That way he cannot get behind you, and if he comes down again, you'll be there to receive him. The Pfalz is a very sturdy craft, and with good altitude, you can dive steeply to gain speed and maybe distance to opponents; and with that energy you can climb up and away again. Use that more than turn fighting - she's an "energy fighter". Shiloh, you have painted your Fokker very fine, with own monogram. That Camel jockey looks as if he is going to salute the King, before he will start his descent. A Dr.1 is fine for fighting Camels.
  4. Yeah, I guess you shouldn't mess with No. 56 Sqdn, RFC, when you do not know how to fly your craft. Well, even then it may get hairy enough!
  5. OT- Unexpected Find

They were made of stern stuff, some of these grand-granddads. I guess it was a special feeling, that moment when you saw what you had found down there in the cellar. All the last 90 year it may have been hanging there. I hope, somewhere they can display it - if not, you should keep it and give it a better place than a cellar.
  6. OT - Working at Poverty Point

We have some quite good TV channels. I only remembered it, cause you described that it was a "not-yet-agricultural" society who built them. And that had made me listen and look, back then, when it was on TV. By the way, you can recognise it very well in GoogleMaps.
  7. OT - Working at Poverty Point

Only recently they had this excavations on German TV - I had no idea, that there had been such older cultures. Thanks for the good overview here, Bullet!
  8. PS: whatever you have improved on the look of the Fokker (I guess, more detailed skin) - it makes the craft appear a bit larger; not so toy-tiny as it used to look to me. I know it was a rather small craft, but now it looks most real and in proportion with other craft. Maybe only the look - but so important for the whole feeling. Great job, guys!
  9. Pol, I can only say: you guys can really master the art of destruction. I don't deny I was much impressed by "the other sim's" DM - but you now seem to have it looking even more realistic. A really believeable damage in the structures - superb work!
  10. Short 'Period' Film

Yes, I've seen this one before, but always good to see again. Ditto to Shiloh's comment! I find the look in the face of the last man quite touching - I see him laughing, but I think I trace losses and pains, and maybe fears, behind his smiles. A clouded smile so to say.
  11. Buddy's re-modified DM

Reading and looking very promising, Buddy - I'll test it over the weekend. Gee, modders modding modders' mods - how does it feel, Herr Prop-Wasche? Well, it's for a good cause. Edit: I searched high and low to find that Jasta with the green tail, cause the only "greentails" I knew were those of Jasta 5, but they never had the Pfalz D.IIIa. Seeing through the aces I found him - he was Jasta 10 ace Georg Hecht.
  12. News Report

In "Deutsch" the scene is not so pleasant indeed, Slarti. Nice to see you again here! Yes, take a crate and fly some rounds - the weather is fine!
  13. Triple monitors

Not sure if Crossfire might have some trickyness, which you'd need an expert for, or the right mobo or whatever. You should see through the web about your card combination, and read, if it works easily. Otherwise I'd go for a better single card plus better supply. But keep in mind - OFF is rather CPU-hungry. OFF ran quite fine with my old HD4870 - and your card should be much better. Did you consider getting a faster CPU? As for the video in the appraiserfl post - I don't need three screens, when I use TrackIR.
  14. News Report

Quite well caught - that's about the same way I react, when my long-time campaign pilot is getting shot down by his own Flak over his own field.
  15. Triple monitors

Only very few people here have tried that, I'm afraid. One name comes to mind: appraiserfl Perhaps you search for his posts, or try to contact him? Here is one post about his 3-screen setup: http://combatace.com/topic/57634-i-made-a-1080p-video-showing-three-screen-action/page__view__findpost__p__428530 .
  16. Outnumbered 12:9, Jasta 37 had a tough fight against DH-5. There must have been aces in the British flight - they fought very well. I saw three Albatros going down. I don't know, how many E/A I have damaged - quite some - but I know I shot down at least three in my rage. Flanders is a totally different cup of tea, after flying some time in the Marne region, definitely.
  17. my friend Makai

I knew their names from an earlier post, Flyby - Odin & Pippin - so cute the fellers! Same for me, Lou - I could dive with an oxygen bottle, but only to a depth from where I can go up in one go, without decompression time. Drowning would be my horror scenario - although burning to death cannot be nicer, but that's how I feel.
  18. Isn't there always something that needed to be done first? Is that the devil keeping us from paradise? Lou, it's soi nice to see your setup and flying after maps. Your routes must be far longer than mine, and so far I mostly used printed paper maps, but it is the same way of deepening the immersion. Good idea, that writing right in the map file - I'll use my 2. computer the same way next time.
  19. Got it! And what a fine resolution - I'll definitely use it soon. Shiloh, if you have a second computer or two monitors attached, you could use the whole map on the other, and only zoom in for the part, where you just are - that's what I will do with this big one. Those who can't do that, could make letter-format excerpts from the parts they need, and use those.
  20. Gee, Lou, your heart must be dancing - what a fine little treasure indeed! And let me add - it came to the right man (still, even if it didn't come to Shredder)! I'll hop over and download it - calls for a new Campaign in that sector - and even an Entente campaign.
  21. Not me, nope. What unit and where do you fly from, and at which time?
  22. Geeze, I didn't know there were so many. Thanks for the tips, guys - I saved them and will see, what I can find at Ebay or Amazon.
  23. OT-My New Computer

Welcome to the club, Jarhead! Boy, you will have fun with OFF from now on! Do you hear that, devs? WE are ready for OFF II - now it's your turn to release it.
  24. OT: 2012 Is The Year I Do It

Ah, the place where Casanova had too many affairs going - know what I mean? Wink, wink; nudge, nudge! Guys, I had never seen that one - there must be still quite a few Pythons' sketches out there, which are new to me. Tranquillo, you seem to have picked a good time - bright & sunny. Your shirt looks okay on you there - did it still fit, when the holidays were over? Today I did almost 10 Kilometers of jogging and - when the breath was missing - fast walking. I want to get so far, that I can run that distance without walking-breaks. I feel like crushed by a steam hammer, but - good!
  25. my friend Makai

Flyby, your new Avatar is SOOO cute - it makes the heart warm!
