  1. Bristol M1c Monoplane

Yeah, I've really been thinking of trying to model it myself. But I heard from so many, how hard and time-consuming that would get, and I have too many other things to do, I'm afraid.
  2. Bristol M1c Monoplane

    Like the Roland D.VI ?
  3. Bristol M1c Monoplane

Well, even the Roland D.VI will have to wait for more important planes, blackbaron. The French haven't got any own 2seaters yet. But the devs taught me one thing: you can surely trust them that they want to build the complete Western Front with all the planes and squadrons and stuff.
  4. Twilight of the War Horse

Geeze, what an encounter! The original cavalry against their successor. That must have been a hell of a fight, and a big surprise for the German airmen.
  5. OT Not having a good day :(

Women! Always easily irritated by such minor events - tch! That's why we don't take them with us to the wars. But seriously now: I wish you, that the "Djungle camp situation" will be over sooner rather than later, old chap!
  6. It must be a direct translation, which doesn't make sense in English. "Es ging mir an den Kragen" would be in English "They grabbed my collar", which is something you do in a bar fight. You grab the other guys collar to look in his face from close on in rage, cause you are upset and about to punch him. In German we use that for any dangerous situations we get in. I didn't say it was.
  7. F.E.2b (5206) 21 May 1916 brought down near Houthem by Ltn W. Frankl Can't help you with your Fee, Lou, but here I have another which I found at the FLICKR photo website. There was another photo of it, which was used as a postcard. It carried the following text on the back: Flandern, den 28.5.1916 Lieber Cousin Karl ! To my great joy I received your picture yesterday, sincerest thanks for that. I am still doing well, although last Monday I soon went on the collar. We received a heavy British artillery bombardment in close proximity: 10, 15, 20 metres. Actually one hit about six meters from me, and exploded with great violence. Happily I was spared. I only got a heavy nosebleed from the pressure.Even today, they have shot up our work again. Dear Karl, I'm sending you herewith a view of the English double-decker, four Fokkers forced to land over our quarters last Sunday, I inspected it and the pretty English officers in captivity. With this English plane, Lieutenant Franke has his sixth aircraft down. Dear Karl, on leave do not think of me, I think in August we will be closer to peace. Have heard from Hermann, Peterson and Grimm also (good). Have sent them a new shot of me which they will probably not recognize me? Now farewell, warmly greetings, Erich.
  8. Mmuahahahahahahahaaaa!!!!!!!
  9. Ah - I thought you had written that, Lou! What an honour, eyh? Sorry I can't help you - if even you don't know it - who should? Maybe Shredward - but I guess it's a tough question.
  10. This video was made with an aircraft from "IL-2 1946", an environement from "Call of Duty", and a TAMIYA 1:16 scale model of a German Tiger tank; plus real people! Quite well made!
  11. Bristol M1c Monoplane

blackbaron, the building of such models (if they are as good as we have them) takes a long time and a lot of energy, as I have read here many times. Many people offered to model planes, but they all fell off after a while. The devs will not waste so much of their time for an aircraft, that did not play even the smallest roll at the Western Front. Your dream is understandable (I want to note here, that I still want a Roland D.VI fighter, devs!) - but not likely to come true.

  14. Bristol M1c Monoplane

Thank you, Shredward. Did it take part in any air combat, I wonder?
  15. Bristol M1c Monoplane

There were only some 33 of these planes in service in the middle east; and some were used in England for training purposes and for the use of senior officers. The only one in France could have been the craft flown once by Cecil Lewis, when he arrived at St.Omer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_M.1
  16. Run Time Error '480'...

Hauksbee, whatever it may be: try the options "Reset OFF Manager", and if that doesn't help, try "Reset CFS3" - before you consider a deinstallation. Often worked for me. But you would loose your campaign pilots, when you do this.
  17. Found on the Internet

Wow, never seen the Bristol Monoplane Fighter so close; good video quality. Thanks for sharing, Carrick!
  18. Or get yourself "Pacific Fighters" from UBISOFT (IL-2) - should be cheap now, and more modern looking. Elephant had posted videos about Pacific mods for "IL-2 1946", which looked great! But I can't find the post anymore. I hope he will see this.
  19. Well, look at Rugbyfan's CPU - a Quad Core with 3.4 GHz. That should be more than sufficient?
  20. Non War Bi Planes

Yes, you're right - one never thinks of those fellers. Here is a good vid from New Zealand:
  21. Rugbyfan, you need to click on my graphic twice. The first time, it will go from stamp size to preview; click on it again, and you will have the final, readable version. With your system specs, you should not need to limit fraps. I actually believe, that it only makes the CPU or GPU more busy to count the fraps down. Try my advice first and see, what you get.
  22. Non War Bi Planes

Ah, I've seen these planes over cropp fields in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. They sprayed something.

  24. Rugbyfan, you should perhaps try this: 1. check my guide for "Graphic settings" in the "Stickies" above http://combatace.com...post__p__452080 (click on the small pic to enlarge it) 2. Set your quality sliders to Aircraft: 5 Terrain Detail: 3 Scenery Detail: 2 Effects Quality: 5 Clouds: 5 Also, put he "Ground objects density" in "Workshops" to "medium" or even "low". You may wonder why, when you already have bad Fraps? Well, you may get surprised, that everything may run much smoother in high settings. Your system should be well able to perform that, but the down-calculating to lower values often causes the performance to decrease. I cannot promise it will work well for you - there might be other reasons for bad performance - but you should definitely give it a try.
  25. Shu-weeet graphic work though! Sentimental look-back into the 50s - when EVERYTHING seemed possible. My dad used to read two magazines with futuristic designs, "Hobby" and "Populäre Mechanik". Both American mags, translated into German. For me as a boy they were amazing!
