A video by HAFU / The Vintage Aviator:

You're right - for a professional video company working with such marvellous aircraft, this was simply made in a very imperfect way. Let's hope they will do it again, but better.
-
They use real little jet engines - see here: http://www.rctoys.com/pr/2008/07/16/how-rc-jet-engines-work/

I guess that's okay, those are the pub-pop hits to sing along with after some beers; like "Lilly the Pink". Nothing essential - and they were not made to be essential.

Absurdly OT: Peter Sellers, John Cleese & Ringo Starr

Maybe this spot is famous? I had never seen it before: -

I understand - some books shouldn't be made into films; like "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", which IMHO lives from the language of the story teller, and his great ability to help you creating your own phantasy-full images. -
Spot on, Lou - you know your planes and pilots very well. I have, by the way, an idea how to make any future quiz a good bit more tricky, cause it wouldn't be so easy to google. If you wrote some detail about a certain pilot's history - or a plane's - and then ask the candidates to come up with the correct name, or the details (like paint job). Just an idea to keep the quick search experts at bay, so more people would (hopefully) take part.

What about this one then ?

Back to school, and learn your vocabulary again! And wash your mouth with soap, you little tinker!

Don't forget altitude advantage, Lewie. A steep diving Fokker Dr.1 could catch a straight flying Bristol Fighter. Von Richthofen shot down 2 F.2A, flying the Albatros D.III; and at least 1 F.2B (according to James F. Miller), or even 3 F.2B (according to Peter Kilduff) flying the Fokker Dr.1.

Back to "Puppy Farm" noob status...

Well, if it comforts you - I sometimes search for my glasses, which I am wearing to see, where I'm searching. -

Perhaps this video can bring some clearing? Do you have the TrackIR on the left half of your monitor? -
I thought it looked like Dr. Faustus had merged several Sopwith craft into one interesting chimera. And I knew, that Lou (or Dej) would solve the question.
-
Wow, didn't know there are such big scales! Look at that DH-2 pilot in his deck chair! Cute!!
-
Man, they could have made them just a little larger, and they could pilot them themselves! I guess, the "Red Arrows" really did some show formation flying?
-
Yes, the final "e" is a flat or short "e". In English sounds, I would use "Fok-a Volf". Spell the "a" short/flat like in "a bad day"; and the "Volf" like "Wolf", but first letter like in "vase". Dizzy?
-
I think it was filmed at an air show. I thought I heard distant gun sounds. Maybe over the amps/speakers on the ground for the public?
-
Al Forbes' paintings may look almost naive compared to others, but no one else can create such special goose skin athmosphere like him. Just found this one over at "The Aerodrome". It is called "Masurian Monster". Does anyone know this big German craft?

Big Nightmare coming out of the Dark
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yeah, like that - they had really hoped all the time to get the "modern" Fokker. Well, what could they know about the speeding technological revolutions in the next 4 years. -
Hihihi - 900 m x 7, Hauk - that's 6.300 Meter.

When I had won the "Pour le Mérite" in your big aircraft quiz, Lou, I had promised, that I would find a nice frame for it and to send pictures. Now, it took longer than I thought, but now I have got a black wooden frame which I think fits very well. I did not yet add the ribbon, because that wasn't a perfect one. If I find the right one in Ebay or elsewhere, I'll add it diagonally into the lower right corner. Thanks a lot again for the nice prize, Lou! .

That adds a completely new meaning to "We haven't got a Hope in the Morning".

...and here is their website. I think I will order the DVD with the WW1 aircraft. http://aviationfilm.com/

Lou, here is the wormhole - arhm - channel for all the HAFU Videos (Historical Aviation Film Unit Videos): http://www.youtube.c...6/4/kf0IleR8l-M

Correct, Hasse - back to my Albatros! (Do I have my cookies? Where's the chocolate? Feldwebel Müller - bring me a thermosflask with hot coffee, quick!)
