  1. Yes, I feel tempted to try modelling a Roland D.VI. But yet only tempted...
  2. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

Herr Prop-Wasche, from what I have read, the wing failure problem was reduced a lot by the stabilizer. This stabiliser was attached as a field modification already as early as on the Albatros D.III ! I could not find anything about how many Jastas did this, but I know that Jasta 11 did; and I bet, that this word spread fast. Here are two pics - one Albatros D.III OAW, and one Albatros D.V (not D.Va !), which do already carry the stabiliser. I bet one would find many more examples, because even if the factories did not change their productions, it would be easy to mass-produce such parts and attach them in the field. Everything else would be stupid. (The D.V was taken from "WingnutWings" and is from Greg vanWyngarden's great collection.) .
  3. Aces High film

Oh yes, "My Bonnie lies over the Ocean" is a world wide well known old folks tune. http://www.youtube.c...feature=related "Keep the Homefires burning" was composed 1914. http://www.youtube.c...feature=related
  4. worst luck ever :(

Most electronics these days seem to be produced in Asia - even when they are wearing a US or European company brand name. But I have never seen anything like this. Someone wanted to make sure, that no parts lose contact, it seems...
  5. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

HPW, I guess the warning came up, because I have previously deleted the "aircraft" folder in "Mods", together with all older mods. I wanted to start clean, so to say. Now the first mod created it's own "aircraft" folder. When I installed the second, the warning came up. The warning didn't say something bad WOULD happen, but that it MAY happen. So I think it was just trying to tell me, that there was already a folder called "aircraft", and that things MIGHT get overwritten. But as you said - the files are all different, and so I think it now works. I have 4 mods in the right half, and the bottom line reads: "4 mods activated". Should be alright now. And I'm looking forward to a great weekend. Thank you, Sir!
  6. Europe is now going into an offensive against rating agencies. I hope they win.
  7. Well, Hellshade, you may not be surprised anymore to hear, that the painter Gustav Klimt was inspired by German aircraft Lozenge fabric camo.
  8. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

Think you nailed it, elephant - that is exactly what I found out too. So it all seems to worl fine - and it is really a great new DM. (For the FM, I need to fly more tests to be able to say anything about it).
  9. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

Hasse Wind, there is no "aircraft" folder in the "Bletchley mods" - those are mission mods. The "aircraft" folders are in 1. Allied FM 2. German FM 3. Ultimate DM
  10. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

Well, I guess the mods are working in my case. The Albatros D.Va felt different enough, although I can't yet put my finger on, what has changed. And the DM seemed to cause, that the fight went much longer than before, as Hellshade said. We clashed with S.E.5a from RFC-56, and it was a terrible scrap! It took longer to destroy an S.E.5 or an Albatros, and that was fun to watch, Herr Prop-Wasche! But then I must have watched it all too much, and not checked my six enough. One... I sent down smouldering - Two I modified into a monoplane, but then - Three the boys from 56 Sqdn tried something similar with my Albatros. I just managed to survive a crash landing (thank you, OFF Manager!), but now I'm a PoW.
  11. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

The mods are in an "aircraft" folder, Hasse Wind. Just unzip one to desktop, and check it. Each of them has it's own "aircraft" folder. And that caused the warning, it seems.
  12. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

It's not really an error message - it says, that there is already another "aircraft" folder in the activated mod, and that it could cause problems to activate the second mod. This is what I get (Windows 7): But I have made a testing sortie, and it seems to work. It was harder to shoot the Nieuports down, and the FM of the Albatros D.V was improved in that way, that it felt a little more agile to me now. So I think both mods worked. Now I also want to activate the "Allied FM". .
  13. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

Here is how it looks, when I first activate the DM, and then also the German FM. The DM line is getting grey. At the bottom though, it says, 3 mods are activated. Does it look the same your end, Hasse Wind and Panama?
  14. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

I have installed all three packages into the Mods folder, that is not the problem. The problem occurs, when I try to move them all to the right side in the JGME.
  15. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

Herr Prop-Wasche - help! I need some clarifying! I can extract the Allied and the German zip files into the Mods folder. Then I can also activate the German FM. But when I try to activate also the Allied FM, I receive a warning. Is there only supposed to be one FM at the time, depending on what side I am flying???
  16. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

HPW, don't worry yet - I had only made one flight. And I didn't test with that campaign pilot, how long it would take until the wings would rip off; in other words: I flew the kite like I was used to do. Now I have a question, which may be stupid, but that's me: If I have moved the "German FM" file from the left to the right in the Jones mod enabler, and then try to move the "Allied FM" pack to the right too, I get contradictions/warnings. I guess I must throw the contect of both the Allied folder and German folder into the old "aircraft" folder? Not sure...
  17. Herr Prop-Wasche's is visible for me, Flyby's not. Which makes me assume, that you may have used a "Private Album", Flyby? If you create a new album, make sure it is not set to "private". Then get the badge in there and repeat the proceedure. Try this one, Herr Prop-Wasche - I reduced it to 2/3. .
  18. Now this is like a most perfect Double Burger, as it demonstrates this great FM and DM work by Herr Prop-Wasche and Creaghorn in a well explaining video by Hellshade. I understood only now, what there is all changed and waiting for me in the next sorties. Making more of a difference between smaller vital areas, and larger non-vital ones, should make the whole dogfighting a lot more realistic. If it looked easy in the video, then that is only because Hellshade is a top gun. I am very curious about my next flights now!
  19. Question

Absolutely right, HPW and Flyby - the use of the personal settings is not at all intuitive, and I also had to spend quite some time and try and error to halfways understand it all. Lou and Widowmaker helped me getting there back then. Your badge may be bigger, because you don't have any additional bit with it. The signature allows a picture of 500 x 200 pixels, but it seems to calculate it different for a square perhaps?
  20. But your badge is also still not visible, Flyby.
  21. Brand new DM and FM now ready!

I cannot report much yet. I have made one sortie with an Albatros D.Va (see: "Reports from the Front"); and I did not trace any noticable difference to the FM before. I had recently reported, that I was amazed by your new D.Va FM, although it seems I had only flown the OFF version, as yours was yet only for QC. If that is true, I flew the original FM then, and today I flew yours. Maybe I need to test it more (we were only as high as 10.000 feet), but as I said - couldn't trace any difference yet. But I beat those Camels - huh! PS: I will carry on during the next days. Want to try the other Albs too.
  22. Since I see only few pictures since a long time, I wonder, if some of you may not know how to clear some attachment space? You do it like this: 1. Click on your name bar in the forum's top right corner 2. Click on "My settings" 3. Click on "Manage attachment space" Now you should see all your attachments listed. The horizontal bar at the top of the list may be red, which means, your space is almost used up. So you should delete some of the pics. Perhaps you go to the older ones by selecting "Last" at the top. You can now tick all those boxes with pictures you are sure you want to delete. Then click on "delete" at the bottom. You can go through the list pages and repeat the proceedure. When the bar at the top turns blue, you have cleared enough, and may upload new stuff.
  23. THE APPALING BEAUTY OF WEAPONS You often don't know many things in your town, which others make journeys for, to see them. The Museum für Verkehr und Technik in Berlin is such an example. I live in Berlin since the seventies, but had never visited it before. Yesterday, I changed that and had a first walk through with a friend and his daughter. There is so much to see - from the first boats and ships over steam engines to aviation. I frankly admit, that I got dizzy and foot-lame after 3 hours. I didn't take many pics, as it was 1. forbidden, and 2. the light in most rooms was so dim that I had to use flash light, and that doesn't look too good. But here are some pics: My headline is meant for the aircraft and the missiles, or the Parabellum - but not for the bombs or the "Fliegerpfeile", which are weapons I don't find beautiful at all - not even appaling beautiful. "Fliegerpfeile" (aviator darts) were little steel darts, which the observer/gunner could drop on the troops in the trenches. They fell with increasing speed, and they could even penetrate helmets. They would go right through the person hit - from the head through the body. A very nasty idea. In the missile section I was surprised to see several rockets and missiles I had never heard of. There hadn't only been the V1 and V2, or the Bachem "Natter" - here were also three variants of the AA missile "Rheintochter", which I had never seen before; and several other projects, like an anti-ship rocket, which was controlled via wire(!) from a Heinkel He111 per joystick (!). Read more here: http://en.wikipedia....ki/Rheintochter .
  24. Oh yeah, I bet I could get lost in there, Shiloh! Ever been to the Smithsonian too? They have a Dornier "Pfeil", which has been completely restored in Germany and then got sent back. And an Albatros D.V. And, and, and...
