File Name: Pilot Caps for Brit & Hun 1916 - 1917 File Submitter: Olham File Submitted: 29 May 2011 File Category: Modding Tools and Add-on Software This file will make your pilot wear a face mask and better goggles. It does distort a bit strangely in parts, but it works okay. You need to unzip it and put the two files from the folder here: (your sim folder) > aircraft > shared Best is to save the original files "PilotcapBrit1916-17.dds" and "PilotcapHun1916-17.dds" first. Enjoy! Click here to download this file

SPADs are not so difficult, but Scout Experimentals, flown by No. 56 Sqdn, RFC - nasty! -

Damn, yer right, Shiloh - my brain is only scrambled eggs in the evening! And when I add the time it takes in the morning to get it to work... I changed it above. -

A machine gun and a Lee Enfield for the BE2c - good bye, easy meat! I always wondered, if they might have used sniper guns in early planes. This looks all so very good, that one wants to fly British side, Sir - is that your masterplan, to lure me away from my Albatros? Do we Germans also get anything new, or do we still have to travel around and sleep in tents? Anything, the German side? Perchance? -

Mack, to eliminate the text line at the top, I made a golden plackard with yout pilot name instead. Perhaps you like it: -
Well, this was only an "OFF Forum Pilots" vs "RoF Forum Flyers" comparison. Pips, we have already had a thread recently ("Soooo much better here") which made clear, that the OFF Forum with it's decent manners is a rarity. Not the fault of the "other sim". Let's enjoy it.

Yeah, they know about the "Art of War"...
-
You compare yourself with what/whom you admire.

jwrich: ... tried other countries and aircraft but I feel more comfortable with the Albatros. Shiloh: ... think the planes are cooler-looking (paint jobs & lines) and I do love to fly the Albatros D.II with its twin Spandaus. There's also a lot of colorful history with the Jastas More guests to share the keg of "Warsteiner" with me - cheers, Piloten! Shiloh, the "Iron Cross" is in heraldics called a "Tatzenkreuz" (paw cross) and goes far back to the "Ritter des Deutschordens" (Teutonic Knights). See here: http://en.wikipedia....eutonic_Knights

"Weihenstephaner" northeast of Munich are at least one of the oldest breweries, and they brew after the "Bayerische Reinheitsgebot", which is - according to Creaghorn - the only real German Purity Law. Enjoy it - it is a very good German beer.

Be my guest with this keg of "Warsteiner", my friend!

I haven't played campaign for a while

Good points there, Widowmaker. I found very soon, that I can hardly do more than two missions per day; rather only one. I'm not in the twenties anymore like those pilots, and I find it pretty straining, if I want to survive. So it's ca. 1 hour of flying (almost every day), plus 1/2 - 1 hour for skinning Then there is also the forum, which I visit very often every day. I am lucky - as a graphic designer, the PC is my workplace anyway. As for the devs: I admire the endurance and detemination to build THE WW1 air combat simulation. It is actually more - it is a history lesson. -
That's very kind to say, Hasse Wind - thank you! And OFF is actually so realistic, so true, that it slowly but surely makes me a more and more "serious flyer". I don't have to try to become one - it makes me one. I don't know any other sim, that could have done this.

Sounds very promising indeed! Even for lesser noble men like me.

Weren't the cars more sexy back then? I think, they were! -
OT Game of Chess get's nasty!

I keep it like Andy Capp, who answered to the question, if he would enjoy a match: "Life is too short for Chess!" -
For me, it's the Albatros I fell in love with - so I fly all of it's variants in the according phases of the war. (But I also have one or two Entente pilots; right now one British in No. 46 Sqdn, RFC, flying the Pup; and one French in Escadrille 26, flying the Nieuport 11).

Perfectly okay, Lou - we need competitors to keep it thrilling. -

That's right, Dej, and I feel the same about it. A pity no one else did bite more often. -

Lou, here is a link where you possibly find the colour: http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgb.html#Sty&Des -
Good attitude, Queeg, I think the same way. If you send me a PM with your town and country, I'll add you to the "OFF Forum Pilots Maps".
-
Morris, no way shall you be a beta-tester! With your setup, you would push the limits up so high, that no-one else would be able to fly the sim later! No way. old chap!

You are one who attracts such "to be rescued cases", aren't you, Lou? Jeeze, it was a lovely car, but you will have to put many hours into it, to get it there again. I'm afraid we will see you here even less. You even forgot about your quiz, it seemed? Well, enough of the nagging - it is a beauty that should be saved by man who knows what do do and how to do it right, and if I was such an old car, I'm sure I would be in good hands with you. I wish you much success with it - and of course we expect pictures!
