A lot quieter actually. Now the loudest I can hear is the cooler fan of the PSU - which is almost inaudiable. The ATI 4870 is also extremely quiet.

Parky, to comfort you and your lady - I have dozens of such areas in my flat, which I would only notice that they might need a cleaning, when I would make a photo of them. WHY you are showing these wonderful high tech devices standing in your kitchen, I cannot guess. First I thought - "Frigidaire"; never heard of that monitor. Funny knobs on it, too.
  4. Jeeze, the pilot is sitting so high up - he was either very tall, or he must be sitting on a cushion??? A wonderfule photography, Jim. Who was it's pilot?
  5. Olham's Porn

No,von Paulus, as far as I understand the description, it is maintenance-free.
  6. I am wondering about the Spandau's rate of fire again. Creaghorn, you had slowed it down in your sound mod. But when I read this passage yesterday in Arthur gould Lee's book "No Parachute", I thought the OFF guns rate of fire might be rather realistic. Here is the passage: "Scott left us, cause he'd shot away half his propeller. The Sopwith Kauper interrupter gear with which the Pup is fitted is complicated mechanically, and sometimes goes wrong, and then the bullets go through the prop. It's this gear which slows down the rate of fire of the Vickers. In the air, when you press the trigger, instead of getting the fast rattle of a ground gun, you have a frustrating pop! pop! pop! pop! The Huns have a much more efficient gear, for the Spandaus fire very fast. In fact, when you hear the twin Spandaus of the Albatros opening up on your tail, they sound like some vast canvas being ripped by a giant. And our answer is pop! pop! pop!" Well, I have ripped modern tarpaulin canvas into stripes with another man, and the "rate of fire-type sound" is rather fast. Very fast indeed.
  7. Damn, I just checked Simon's profile, and you're right, Mike - I got it mixed up. God, I'm so blushed I really make the name "Bordeauxred Baron" all honour. Guys, can you edit your posts to: Happy birthday, MikeDixon ? Perchance? (Next time I'll wait and join in on others' congrats).
  8. The OFF Poetry Corner

It does not only look so much better, LIMA - the AI is totally new. The fights and survival are much harder. May I add you to the OFF Pilots Maps? I'll do, if you give me your town and country.
  9. Damn, Mike - did I get this totally wrong? And everybody is tuning in - I suppose I can only choose between going down in flames - or to jump???!!! Well, anyway: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE !
  10. Well, Shredward lives in western Canada and may not be up by now, or still having a rich Easter breakfast. Come on, Shredder - when you're ready: tell us what it is, and if Lou wasn't correct, it will be your turn.
  11. The OFF Poetry Corner

I had just read it in "No Parachute", and it's great, how the British compensate for almost everything with their humour. Thanks for posting, 33LIMA! Are you an OFF flyer?
  12. This is getting interesting, although some pilots in this briefing seem to be bonkers, but hell, that's what all this air combat does to us, I suppose. Now, Lou, do your best, and the next turn will be yours! Or if you tell us what it is precisely, it will be your turn, Shredder.
  13. Can I have it? Can I have it?? Mmuahahahahahaaaa!!!!!! Naw - if you buy us enough drinks, we can be the friendliest guys to be with!
  14. Don't worry too much, TaillyHo - the Strutter can defend itself quite well, I think? That Pup skin was only altered a little bit from a FUBAR skin for RNAS (see downloads). I worked out / polished the metal cowling even more; and wrote "Daisy" on the sides.
  15. Aaah - so it's NOT a trim device? Lou? RAF_Louvert??? Dej??? Help!!!!
  16. And this is a ground gun - not slowed down by the synchroniser gear. Here is a Maxim 08/15 "Spandau" - of course also as a ground gun. It would have been slower synchronised.
  17. Interesting detail, Lewie. And sorry for you, Lou - please try to answer another? So it's still your turn again, Creaghorn.
  18. Have a look at the LVG C.VI for example - the way the Lozenge camo was overpainted with whitewash - amazing. And then the detail on the engine - it's just incredible. There are pics of models by Jim Dietz even - I bet it's the same Dietz who does those great paintings. http://www.wingnutwi.../customermodels
  19. Lewie, please let us keep the idea of posting excerpts from P4 screenshots, okay? And didn't you say it was Creaghorn's turn?
  20. Yes, that makes sense. Still, 6 shots per second IS very fast, isn't it?
  21. Sorry, Lewie, but I could swear your post wasn't yet visible for me, while Creaghorn's was. The other option would be, that my brain is getting more and more senile, which is not an option for me, as you may understand? Tch! Carrick ... Lou, when you see a post early enough (which is quite difficult to do here - they post faster than I can read!), I would really love to see a contribution from you; as you would then ask some more interesting questions.
  22. Happy Easter, Andy! Was that your Easter fire? (Does anyone else know that old rite?) Had another sortie with 46 Sqdn, RFC. We were sent to patrol near Arras, but then these cheeky DFW tried to raid our aerodrome at La Gorgue, and we had to stop them. I thought I had got this flamer, but then Captain Pratt decided, it was rather Monroe's victory. Ah, well - I wouldn't like a flamer as my first victory anyway. Might bring me bad luck...
  23. Absolutely right, Creaghorn, and faster than any WW1 kite, Sir. It's your turn now!
