  1. He didn't have a Chance Proceeding to our patrol area, we were still trying hard to catch up with Paul Billik's 1. Kette, when we had to witness, how they were attacked by Sopwith scouts, 200 Meter higher. Climbing as fast as we could, we watched the fighting helpless. Then I saw that Pup coming down right on Kraemer, firing. We were suddenly fighting, too. But these RNAS guys had first only seen Billik's flight, I' msure. Cause they were only five, against our ten Albatros. Now that they had given up their altitude advantage, we made a quick job of them - they were falling like flies. We thought the work was done, when another swarm of them came over us like doomsday - or so we thought at least. They were only four, and again, it was a butchery. None of them escaped. Only after the fight, we realised, that they might have been diving to attack the nearby spotter. And when they recognised all our Albatros circling so low, it was too late for them. They had no chance really...
  2. Welcome "Between Heaven and Hell", stefnuts! Yeah, with Win7 64 bit, you really die even faster. Not necessarily, no. Go to "Workshops" and check at the left, if you clicked the right screen size. Then, the next you ought to do, is finding the right "Field of View" for your screen resolution. (See FOV in the lower right half of "Workshops") The smaller the numbers, the closer/larger will your plane appear to you - but also enemy specs. The higher numbers would make you more remote to everything. If you send me the screen resolution, I can give you 3 variants for FOV to try out. Furhtermore, see my advice about graphics setup in the "Sticky Threads".
  3. Welcome to the OFF Forum, stefnuts! It's as Javito explained, and the real name for "Phase 3" is "Over Flanders Fields - Between Heaven and Hell". The first version that costs money. And the very best chance to multiply the value of it! It wouldn't really help much. When a tank was pierced, it lost it's pressure, which lead to an engine stop. You couldn't say: oh, I still have some gallons to make it back. It was finished, no matter how much petrol was left.
  4. Fateful Morn III

Damn - that dark blue German crate looks like a giant bat from hell. Well done, Dej!
  5. Balloon Ramming

Hmmm - I don't know about the Entente balloons , that's true. I just thought, they wouldn't have been less advanced? The German balloon observer definitely used a ripcord, as you can see here.
  6. Balloon Ramming

No, they rather jumped out of the basket very unspectacular. Legs first, and the rope would pull the chute out of it's bag without you doing anything to that. Even a half unconcious man could get it done.
  7. 1917(2) MOD

Couldn't resist and enlisted another pilot in Jasta 12, 1 May 1917, for this mod. Did a first "Lone Wolf" mission (see "Reports from the Front"). Worked fine! Thank you, Bletchley!
  8. Balloon Ramming

They should rename that craft into BH-5.
  9. OFF P4 SCENERY

I bet, exactly that - shadows for a whole forrest - would bring your framerates down most. And when you see a dense forrest from above, you wouldn't find much light and shade anyway - it would be all dark.
  10. 1917(1) MOD

Hey, Bletchley, when you manage to get that right, I will jump at it immediately!!! Like for Widowmaker, 1917 is my favourite year, and I prefer sunny weather, so I usually start on 1 May. That should suit me well!
  11. Adger, ReDDot in Norway has received his DVD now - so: there is hope!
  12. Balloon Ramming

Hey, you lucky man! I'm still hoping for a wife like that! Don't you think, I was laughing! It's only the nerves!!! Damn, I remember my first balloon attack like yesterday - it went pretty much the same way! It was even different, I'd guess: when you approached the sausage, the ground gunners followed your flight path. And when you were above the balloon, they blew it up themselves. No joke - they often do that, when there are aircraft fighting near their balloon. Gee, Wayfarer, you made my day!
  13. Thanks, yeah, METRO 2033 is on the list.
  14. OFF P4 SCENERY

Yeah, I know the very problem!
  15. Isn't this a great place? With good people?
  16. OT: World of planes

Naw, that would be too large, I suppose. But the Pacific theater might still be giant, from China over Japan and the Philippines down to Australia. Europe might be from northern Norway/Finland down to north Africa. That would be incredible!
  17. OT: World of planes

Okay, I'll keep an eye on it. Sounds to me like they will also offer the Pacific Theater - which would be great!
  18. OT: World of planes

Looking great, gunz! But it sounds like being online only? Would I still need to buy a DVD? Do you know?
  19. Okay, now you have eased your mind, but you know the rules: no sim bashing here. So pleeeeease, conduct yourself - I don't want to see you banned from here, Widow! I'd really miss the chat and banter, old chap!
  20. A little time off for FALLOUT 3, but not much. When I get my new rig done soon, I intend to try Crisis 2. I will also install STALKER - Call of Pripyat again, to enjoy in with Direct X11.
  21. OFF P4 SCENERY

Yeah, and if that would mean to give Winder more time OFF for just making some joyrides - give the man the time, guys!
  22. 1917(1) MOD

Would this mean, that in the area of the Niville offensive, there would be "most action"? I just checked a map of the area around Laon, but there were not many Jastas there?
  23. 1915 Mod

You could try it with no danger there, I think - the Germans will be less, and a "Lone Wolf" is easier to beat. I am flying with FA 62 in early 1916 (1), and with Jasta 2 in 1916 (2), and we are mostly outnumbered.
  24. I like to zone out in the Marne region, or in Alsace. The enemy activity is not so huge before 1918, and the landscapes are really beautiful. I still remember a wonderful trip back to Jasta 15 base La Selve with Ernst Udet, after a minor fight. The afternoon sun was bathing the landscape in warm golden tones, and everything was as peaceful as Hobbitshire down there. I found myself thinking about where to put a farm building, if I would settle here. "This spot is definitely the nicest so far! No - there, that meadow is perfect!" I could have flown like that for an hour. North from there - not a good idea!
  25. Ditto, definitely. And you should really fly OFF for some time, as it was made, before you use any mods. Believe me - it is beautiful artwork, as it is.
