  1. 1916(1) Mod

As I will upgrade my rig as far as getting a new mobo, CPU, memory, SSD drive plus Windows7, all my recent pilots will all be lost again. That will be a good point to start a new Campaign in 1916. And yes: thanks a lot to you, British_eh. I have been thinking about a new name for your SIA-RSS thing, and the best I have found so far, is just a "Label" for it, which may not contain so much description in it's name, but is probably more memorable than your shortage: Bletchley & British_eh: "The Reality of the Air War" I will carry on thinking about it though, and I won't mind, if you're not gonna use any.
  2. 1916(1) Mod

This sounds so good, it makes my mouth water for a 1916 Campaign. I will download it, start a new Campaign pilot in early 1916 soon, and report about it soon. Thank you for your works, Bletchley!
  3. Wow, I didn't mention in my last post: 52,7 hours is a big achievement, Wayfarer!
  4. Dolphin restoration

A piece of art, really! I always admire the way these guys work - all so clean and tidy. Like those wingnuts over at "The Vintage Aviator" - real handicraftsmen.

The Bordeauxred Baron: "Vott a nice compliment, Herr Javito! Mmuahahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!!!"
  6. Well, the S.E.5 a should be able to fly that high. You want a mission with Gothas? Well, you would have to fly on the German side, but you can escort them to the Thames estuary in RAF_Louvert's mission he built for me: "Olham's Gotha Escort Mission" You would be flying an Albatros, and there is a secondary task to intercept a British HP 400 bomber - and I won't tell you, what you may encounter or not.... See the download section.
  7. Off phase 3 preowned

And that was all, before we have even flown together! But let's come back to the drinks you promised to buy: I'll have a big virtual Warsteiner! I'll show you to the mess...
  8. They do dare, tranquillo! They have no other chance really - orders were orders. Or you got shot.
  9. Just found this book at Ebay - still 9 hours to go, but no offer yet. Might be a cheap chance to get it? http://cgi.ebay.de/WWI-BELGIUM-Fighter-Ace-Book-ABOVE-FLANDERS-FIELDS-/250791197867?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6451fcab
  10. Werner Voss or a Cecil Lewis?

What makes me wonder much more, is the question, how Werner Voss could get into this situation, and if Manfred von Richthofen could have got into this situation as well?
  11. Off phase 3 preowned

All other sims felt like games to me. OFF feels like WW1 air war.
  12. SEEING enemy planes

Great, Lou - thanks for the help and the link!
  13. Off phase 3 preowned

That's like asking other people you meet in a desert, if they give you their water flask.
  14. phase 3 or wait for 4?

Adger, the red names in the UK are devs of OFF, but they don't do any of the merchandising. They have put that in the hands of AVANGATE. There is only this one way to order. http://overflandersfields.com/Buy.htm To the UK I think it would take 14 - 20 days. A time everyone has to suffer through. Or you read UncleAl's useful "Tips & Cheats" in the sticky thread "OFF General Help" above.
  15. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 27 March 2011 - 16:25 h Berlin summer time (= GMT + 2) Adger1971, England, added. The maps are in post 1 of this thread
  16. phase 3 or wait for 4?

Never hear of anyone offering his OFF for sale. Never.
  17. SEEING enemy planes

As you just mention them pedals, Lou - I own SAITEK rudder pedals, but during my "hotspur phase" I never got into flying with them. They have additional functions, that need to be switched off, and I believe to recall it was you who once had written to me, how to do that? But to be honest, I can't find the advice anymore. If you know, would you please tell me again?
  18. phase 3 or wait for 4?

Welcome to the OFF Forum, Adger! This question comes up again and again here, and it cannot be answered, as no one of us is in your skin. If you would desperately love to fly very immersive WW1 air combat campaigns, like most of us here do, then you wouldn't want to wait for P4, which may well be a year of waiting still. When you are very poor, 23 Pound are a lot of money. All I can say is: if I didn't have OFF P3 already, and I knew how good it was - I couldn't wait any longer. It is very different to P2 - much more realistic, and at full reality settings, a lot harder to survive. Your decision. PS: if you like, send me a PM with your town and country - I'll add you to our OFF Forum Pilots maps then.
  19. Yes, indeed, Widow and Wayfarer. Quite off-topic, but my Yamaha SRX600 was either "my Lady in Blue", or a "damn old goat!" - depending on wether she war running fine, or not. Right now, I have a team of four wingmen with my Jasta 2 pilot, who I all know by name. And after each sortie, I am very glad, when they all returned well.
  20. Werner Voss or a Cecil Lewis?

Most of my OFF flying was like that, Javito! (I always wanted to use this Smiley once! It's wearing off though, when you repeated it often enough, and never get very far with it. An advantage, Werner Voss or Frank Luke did not have. Now I'm approaching the style of flyers like Creaghorn or RAF_Louvert more and more. Maybe still a long way - it's hard to change your character.
  21. Buy and download?

You'll find it all on the OBD website. http://overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm
  22. Windows 7

Always a joy to help others to be able to enjoy it, too. Is your new rig ready, Carrick? What system parts did you get (Graphic card, CPU, memory etc.) ?
  23. Depends on the devs, I think - the sentence might be someting like: 3 balloon attacks, two escorts!
  24. Today I installed the "Bloom & HDR" enhancer from "Creaghorn's Homebrew." I made a test flight with it, and it was a "scramble". We shot down at least 4 Nieuport 17 over or near our field, while the enemy craft could only do minor damage to ours. A funny detail in the lower picture: I waited for the wingmen landing, and when they came in, they were still too high to touch down on the field. So they turned very low over our tents and aircraft, to make a new run. So I got this picture, which is a constellation you won't see normally. I find the enhancer makes dark grey and nasty weather even darker. I'll try it with my Jasta 5 pilot in summer 1917 next. I am pretty curious, if it will help detecting enemy planes through it's different contrast, as Creaghorn said it would. I'll show pics of that sortie tomorrow.
  25. Maybe you joined later, Javito - it was already mentioned earlier.
