Well, I would write the country at least in English, so that the parcel gets there. The town and street should perhaps better be in your language, cause your postal service must read it. Just my opinion.

Carrick, you can make screenshots with any button you assigned for that in "Controls". If you want to show your log, you will need to press "Print screen" though. In the first case, the screenshots go here: (your computer's name) > Documents > CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields The PrintScreen image is kept in the memory (only one at a time). You now open "Paint" or "Photoshop" or what you use, and create a new file. The file will be empty, and will have your screen solution dimensions automatically. Now you press Ctrl. + V for "insert", and you should see your screen print, which you can save as a Jpeg or whatever now.

Werner Voss or a Cecil Lewis?
Olham replied to Javito1986's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I'm with Hasse Wind there. Although I have been flying OFF very ruthlessly, I would surely NOT do so in RL. Pilots like Werner Voss or Frank Luke were extremely zealous - they wanted to be high ranking on the kill tally, and they wanted to get there faster than others. This eagerness killed them before their time. We would come to the difficult question, if there is a life or other form of being, after our death. Cause, if there is not, you wouldn't even be able to sample the pleasures of being remembered as one of the most daring aces. You would just be dead. I would prefer to be more likeJulius Buckler there - doing your duties and collecting your kills as they come, slowly but surely. And survive. Cecil Lewis would not have had a second of doubt about this question, I bet: he would have done it as he has, every time again. -
UncleAl, a Field of View of 30 x 17 is correct for your monitor resolution, Sir. 1920 : 30 = 64 1080 : 64 = 16,875 But you would see distant specs better/bigger with a FoV of 28 x 16, or even larger at 27 x 15. You should try those settings, to find out if they suit you better.

It's not that I was fearless about Flak/Archie - I just never fly straight over enemy territory. In fact, I zigzag every 10 seconds. It helped so far.

We had a long pro and contra discussion here about this, some time ago. In the end, it is the developers' decision to do it, or not. And they don't. We have three guys who received it in Greece, and one in Russia. May I ask where you live?
-
Flyby, I am neither working for the CIA, nor for AVANGATE, so I would NOT know, where anyone lives, only because he ordered the DVD. Gunz, the delivery of the DVD may take two weeks; depends on where you live. After all I have seen and read so far, I do not expect P4 to come out before Christmas - rather even later. P3 with the "Hat in the Ring" extension is - for my oppinion - definitely worth getting anyway, cause it would allow me to fly the sim for about a year, before P4 would be released. P4 will be a standalone, new version with improvements and new planes. So it will be a new buy. But if you see, what P3 costs right now, it is ridiculously little for what you get. Just save some money by not going to cinema or Pizza Hut, and there you are. I just realise, that I must sound like one of OBD's merchandising crew (which they don't have): hey, devs - what about some percentage?! Devs??
-
No way, I think. My best solution was, to put "toggle scroll/snap view" on a button of my stick. So I could switch between the two very easily and quick. PS: TrackIR! TrackIR!!! TraaaaaaackIR!!!!!! (Sorry, don't think I'm cheeky - I really saved for that device for some time, but I'll never regret that money spent).

Gunz, welcome to the OFF Forum. As far as I know, the devs do not make their sim a download for the reason UncleAl has already mentioned: piracy. I can only say this to you: if you are REALLY into WW1 air combat, you should order the DVD. The OFF Campaign is by far the most immersive flight sim I have ever played flown. I cancelled "played" - this is so serious; it is NOT a game. It is hard (if you don't set it up easy), it is challenging, it is a converter: it converts you into a young pilot in his early 20s, back in the years 1915-1918. If you are really into WW1 air combat - you'll find it all here. Your decision.

Looks like one of these cases, which show that Wikipedia is fed with the knowledge of many people - sometimes contradicting each other. Any experts about WW1 balloons here?
-
No, I got my info from Wikipedia - they seem to say nothing about WW1??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrage_balloons
-
tranquillo, I'm sure you're not any dumber than me or most of us here. Me, I often overlook something, that is right there in front of me; or I don't understand how to download or to install or to patch anything - we are not robots. Cheers, tranquillo

I have never heard of barrage balloons being used in WW1 - I think they only came up in the second world war.
-
I have done a similar thing, Javito - feels bad, but I also thought, there just was no other way. I wish your pilot "Hals- und Beinbruch" (Break a leg! / Good luck!).

Go to: (your computer's name) > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields There should be a "Master Copy of viewui.xml" Copy it, and delete "Master copy of...", and you have a virginal one.

We didn't have any polls recently, so let's have another one now.

How do you fly "Over Flanders Fields"?

Yo, meanwhile, I looked it up - Holunderbeeren in German. -

Pawgy, the "single-seaters" were called "scouts". The S.E.5a even has it in it's name - "Scout Experimental". You should be able to "delete your vote" with the button below the poll, and then vote new. -
That is interesting, cause I haven't done that for a long time. Maybe better sometimes, when being in a haste. On the other hand: when I engage Nupes, they all have the tendency to dive down to the deck, where they can play their ace card of being more agile. So, when a flight of Nupes comes down on us, I always advise my wingmen to attack those, who remain highest of all. That way they don't get "smoked" so quickly. Also, I sometimes find there are two or three enemy craft, which fight so well, they might be aces. Then I send my wingmen to attack those first - otherwise those aces may eliminate my whole flight too quick. But I'll try it your way today, and see how that works. Oh, and as for the "Maverick" in Top Gun - I think I have advanced quite a bit from there, I'm sure. Not yet far enough, may be. What I need to control better, is that I get into an absolute rage, when I witness an enemy craft peppering one of my men. Then I forget everything else and try to get at that guy as quick as possible. I want to kill him under all circumstances, and I won't stop, before that is achieved - even if that means, that his wingman behind me demolishes my own kite. A bit of insanity I must overcome. I'm working on it!
-
Was that a compliment, or a nasty critic, Creaghorn? I don't fly like that so much anymore. I often even observe the beginning of a fight, before I join in myself. I advise my wingmen, who they should attack, etc. I lead my flight more carefully. I don't run for each and every chance for a fight, like I used to; but rather keep the mission task in mind. My main weak spot still is though: when I am in a furball, I fight like mad, and forget the danger of collision. That's what you meant, I think - the hotspur.

Mission doesn't end properly?
Olham replied to Javito1986's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
This happens to me too sometimes. It is a kind of small crash of the OFF Manager. -
Javito, may I ask, what exactly did you change in KASPERSKI? I am not sure, if I have done ALL the right things yet.
-
Great! I "only" have 1680 x 1050. Perhaps I should try Nhancer. When you came up with it, I had too much other setup stuff to manage. Could you guide me there again? Where to download it? Does it work with ATI cards? Why should you regard it as bragging, to report, that your pilot almost made it through the whole war? And if it still feels like bragging to you - damn, we're all bragging here for lesser reasons. Why not regard it as part of the exchange here on the forum - showing the others, that it IS possible? And so make them try even better? That's what I wanted to know. So even a well trained sportsman like you does feel all this, what I observed for me. Yes, I think I know what you mean. A true emotion can creep up your spine, or hit you in your heart, when reading this. After so many years, still... I enjoyed Julius Buckler's book at least as much as Udet's. A modest and honest soul, that's my impression. ...and now you felt, "als hätte ich ihn im Stich gelassen" (as if I had abandoned him). Lothar felt that about his brother, although he was in hospital and so he couldn't have helped Manfred. I know this feeling. It may be the reason for my often mad actions, trying to help a man out of a hopelessly outnumbered fight. I lost many pilots that way. It is not logical, it is stupid. Emotions. But I develop more and more, to lead my flights careful enough, that we do not get into such situations so easily anymore. Thank you for your detailed answer. You are right - OFF is also a role player sim, if one wants it to be, and if you have the emotional openness and are willing to get into it so deeply. I feel very much the same about - and within - "Over Flanders Fields".

This sounds interesting - will come back to it tomorrow and check it out.
