Does anyone know "SABRE ACE - Conflict over Korea" ? I used to play it for a while and found (back then) it looked quite good.

Well, it's mainly the Brits with their kids who got me worried! (Mmuahahahahahahaaa!!!!) Hihi, an "Olham-shaped hole" - perhaps that's where all my money goes??? Thank you guys!

European Air War was great. Also 1942: The Pacific Air War by Microprose.

"Vott? You shot holez into my Albatros?!?!? Bleech!! I muszt find out, who dared to fly it in my absentze!!! Schultz!!!!!!" Nice try, Hasse Wind - but not with an OFF veteran. I know the devels by now. But at least I found new P4 screenshots at my return - and they show more than I had expected so soon!

Did you tick the choice Auto-exit mission: off in "Workshops" ? It's on the left (lower half).

PS: the refined cockpit interiour makes me wonder, if I really want the pilot body. We had a poll about this some time ago, and I voted for the pilot figure. But then, the instruments and gauges are much better visible without that body. Anyone else thinking the same? -
Von Baur and all: don't use paper towels! Paper only SEEMS to be soft - it is in fact rather "micro-scratchy". I had good results with a very soft piece of cloth, and luke warm water with two or three drops of dish liquid soap. Make sure, there won't be any chance of water squeezing out of the cloth and running down the screen! But then I have never tried the "professional stuff". Maybe I should.

Wow - they all run in a normal time? Wolfenstein 3D was a very great one in it's time - lots of levels and diversity. But I don't see another of my favourites from the more recent years: STALKER. Worth a try.

Just back from Ostfriesland, and you guys have these fine welcome pics for me - stunning! And Widowmaker - I do want to be the Hun! With these refined cockpits and models, I can't wait for the first encounter with such a British "biggie" as the HP. Or to shoot away the Snipe around you! Mmuahahahahaaaaa!!! The new S.E.5 will definitely lure me to change sides for some carreers, though! Winder, your winter landscapes definitely look better than in "the other sim". -
The blackboard in the "Duty Room" is quite informative. The RL pilots (like Oswald Boelcke, Manfred von Richthofen or Stefan Kirmaier here) are listed there together with the "player's" fictitious wingmen. You can see, who is on leave, who is missing or who was killed in action. There are the confirmed kills as well as the pending claims for everyone. I never used to go there much, but with Jasta 2, I will visit it more often.

"Lone Wolf" mission - thought they didn't exist anymore
Olham posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Flying mostly German side in late 1916, or 1917, I didn't have a "Lone Wolf" mission since a very long time. The more was I surprised, when I got one with my DH-2 in 24 RFC today. "If I should meet a flight of German Roland C.II, I'll be dead meat in this crate", I thought, but you can't say that to your CO; so I only said "Yes, Sir!", saluted and off I went. The whole flight was eventless - Bertangles > N-NE to Savy > S-SW to Montagne > E to Amiens > N to Bertangles - it was a joyride in beautiful spring weather. I have here some recruiting forms you may want to sign - 24 RFC, spring 1916, anyone? -
Damn, I didn't get far! Started a campaign with 24 RFC. First sortie went fine - an escort for bombers. The BE2d didn't hit target (Ennemain field), but one destroyed a bridge. No enemy fighters anywhere. Second flight, a patrol, was also great. I even shot an Eindecker down. But our third flight was an escort of bombers again. Target: Douai airfield. All seemed fine first, but then came 4 Roland C.II and showed us a "Blitz" attack. Man, they are fast, and all over the place! But my wingman and I shot one down. Flak bursts all around us. And suddenly my engine fails out! I check the tank: still 83 % of petrol. What happened? Had to put the crate down west of Douai, and tried various ways to start the engine again. No way. So I am a POW now. Dammit - that was short!

Olham on a bicycle in Flanders, and driving a Model T along the Marne
Olham posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Today I remembered, that long time ago, UncleAl wrote about driving a Model T in OFF. I think he was even riding a bicycle, equipped with Le Prieur rockets! Well, I forgot about the rockets, but I had a bike ride over a German field, wearing a Tommy helmet - but nobody shot at me. The bike exploded unfortunately, when I tried to ride up a hill. The Ford Model T managed the hill better, with slow tempo, and so I drove all the way to visit Marie Louise (her parents still don't know!). -

My mom got a new artificial knee, but will have to wait 14 days for a place in the reha clinic. So I'll assist her, and have an eye on her. This wasn't planned, but is necessary. I'll miss OFF and you all sorely. -

Flying at work could only be forgiven, if it was OFF, my son. That's 20 "Our Father in Heaven" and 10 "Ave Maria"!

I know and still remembered that incident of yours - and I am still wondering, if that wasn't the most Freudian navigation error ever? We couldn't very well invite any POWs to our meeting of German and Turkish pilots, could we? And you have the beer there every day. In your case it could be: POW = Pilsener Over Water? -

That's why they are called "Comics", instead of "the harsh reality". Freedom of art. -

As far as I have always read here, the DVD version is always the 3.1 - mine is also from UBISOFT, and is 3.1 So you should be able to install OFF, until it will ask for the CFS3 DVD to load some files, as you said. Then it will continue with OFF installation. -
Will you do that job, Elephant? I'd like to try it out, when I return in 2 weeks?

Well, I hope it's understandable - tricky to explain mathematics, when you were bad at math back in school days, and even in another language. Hope you guys will find it helpful! -

Yes, then they are most comfortable lot to be with - in the pub. First advice I was given by a landlord in Cornwall, when the bell rang for last orders: "Nobody can stop you from buying 3 or 4 or even more pints, young man. And we cannot throw you out, until you had enough time to drink them." So I ordered: "5 pints of Director's bitter! Markus, what will you have?" -
Do you mean, they should both be mixed together?

OT: The Delicate Art of Making Ourselves Understood
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I still remember that I once answered a guy's post with the words: "So what?" Thinking, the meaning was "What happened next?" or "What was the result?" Of course it did not mean that, as I know now, after some five or six good people here explained to the guy, that I was never rude against other posters. Even our good, great OvS had such a thing happening - it happens, because we can't see each other, nor do we hear the way it's pronounced. -

Dej, you are a great comedian, you are! Good, that my keyboard is water-, and coffeeproof! Lou, you guys make it harder and harder to leave for almost another 2 weeks - damn! A good monologue you provided Dej with - we'll use it next time. Okay, for all who don't know me yet: I'm the third from the left, sitting. Those who know me will easily recognise that stupid smile that happens to my face every time, when I'm totally drunk (which you also see from my whole relaxed posture - was this picture taken, short before I collapsed completely and fell on the other Turk's feet? I'm afraid I even pulled the Austrian guy to my right side down with me - oh, lord, this headache!) The last thing I remember before that is, that the ernest guy standing in the middle, always tried to find out, wether Dej's moustache-movements possibly were a secret morse code. Then it got dark.
