  1. After experimenting with TrackIR profiles again, I think I have found me an improved fine fighter profile. If you use TrackIR, but don't really get on with editing the profiles to your likes, maybe you want to try out mine. You simply throw it into the "Profiles" folder here: C: programs > NaturalPoint > TrackIR5 > Profiles Then you start TrackIR - note the profile name you use now, so you can go back, if you want - then select the profile "Olham", and tick the box "Exclusive". Now you can test it. If you want to go back, untick "Exclusive", choose the old name, and tick "Exlusive" again. Enjoy!
  2. To hear that from a "detailist" like you is quite a compliment - thank you, Lou! Seems I made life harder for my own lot now, though...
  3. Andy, I think your English is quite good to make yourself understood - but I shouldn't be the first to say that; cause I am also German. So whenever you have a complicated question, you could always start a post with the words: "To Olham & Creaghorn...", and write in German. For your graphics setup, you may perhaps want to check my guide here: http://combatace.com...post__p__452080 It must not be the ultimate solution for each and every card, but it should help you with a lot.
  4. Shows, we have good taste & judgement!
  5. Yes - it's like crashing your car, or your PC going to hell - you need to earn the money for a new one. I know it's tough these days - but maybe OFF can be an "engine" for your motivation. I wish you all the best you need.
  6. You lucky man - that must have been a great day you had there. We had the same idea, and I found this link - amongst many others. I'll watch them all. Now I know what they mean when the say "eolded steel". Very impressive. The traditional Making of a Samurai Sword (Katana) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwQqtf86qOc&feature=related
  7. Hey!!! That "Mmuahahahahaaa!!!!" is copyright protected, and only to be used by German Red or Black Barons!
  8. When I see a Katana, I stand in awe of it. I just don't know, how you can make such a sword from steel, how you can shape it so perfecly. I would actually like to see the whole process. Such a sword, if it was a good one, must have had a very high price, and an incredible value. Weapon high-technology that is.
  9. Well, I am not OBD, but if I should judge this, I would say, you'll have to buy a new one. Simply because otherwise, everbody could give the DVD to a friend, and ask for a new one. It's a damn pity, but what else could they do?
  10. You have a "Hat in the Ring" DVD? I would guess, what you have there, is the original OFF DVD - "Hat in the Ring" addon never came as a DVD, but as a download.
  11. Lou, you made me spill my coffee now! Wonderful to have a photo of this event! Dej, I must say: you are not only a perfect British gentleman and officer, but also a perfect member for the Shakespeare Company, Sir! Absolutely oriental, if you must.
  12. More popular than I realized

    Hellshade, your videos are masterly.
  13. That sounds like an intro of a PC game - thrilling! My quote was from a Zen monk of mediaeval time - Ikkyu Sojun, also named "The Crazy Cloud". I had also wondered about the two sharp edges - I knew the Katana is sharp only on one side. Compared to the European knights, the Japanes Samurai have put much effort more into the fighting techniques and even philosophies. While the Europeans tried to protect themselves with heavy armor, the best Japanes sword fighters seem to have been dressed very light; open for deadly injuries - if you could hit them. I like that scene in Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai", where the sword fighter has to kill that man, who insists in a duel. You don't see his movement, and it takes some time, until the opponent realises, that he is deadly struck.
  14. Creaghorn, they decided to use the knee of a donkey; seemed to fit most perfectly. A couple of weeks??? I will be on leave for 13 days, TaillyHo. Not a day more! (There are duties waiting!) almccoyjr, I never "try to hit someone" - I shoot them down! Mmuahahahahahaaaa!!!! Ratatat, hold the lines, till I'm back! A good way to remind yourself, that we are mortals, Bullethead. A notebook, von Paulus?? Why should I... Aaaahhh, for OFF! Well, there wouldn't be time for flying. She has to move short after leaving the Reha clinic, to a smaller flat. So I'll have to sort out lots of things. A nasty task. "This is still like new, we can't throw it away!" "That was from my mother - I must keep that!" etc. Nice try, Morris! Thank you all - and the forum going, boys!
  15. Dej, you are the embodiment of a British officer and gentleman. How we could get you through the lines as a Turkish officer, tanned with Baldric soap, I honestly do not know.
  16. Banking hard / turning tight in a steep climb is not a good idea with the DH-2 - you would have to gain a lot of energy for that first, through a dive. Diving with acceleration did not yet lead to that deadly "BH spin" for me - no idea what you get there. For Creaghorn (perhaps you know, who wrote this): Die Schneiden des Schwertes bedeuten Leben und Tod doch keiner weiß, welche Schneide für was steht
  17. Hasse Wind has lured me into flying the "wonderful Nieuport 17", and so I did (after all this time). And I must say: wonderful kite, light, easy to fly, no nasty habits (it seemed so far); sheer fun. Even the landing (I have Wind:On) went fine. HW also said, I could lower that wind shield (which is actually okay on the N17, and worse on the N28 (not sure about other versions), by pressing Shift + C. What I got instead was the lowering of the Lewis gun. A great immersion-spending thing, by the way - you can imitate the time they needed to lower the gun and change the drum. But now I'd like to know: is there a way to lower the windshield at least in the N28?
  18. On the N28 that is, that I find the metal protection round the screen blocking part of the view. When you came from the very good view of the Albatros, it is limiting. The N17 Lewis is not so bad - I actually like the crate and will continue that carreer of Adjutant Daniel de Saint Malo.
  19. Olala, les Francais - masters of comics art. Good perspective, indeed!
  20. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 3 February 2011 - 00:18 h Berlin time (= GMT + 1) Pawgy, Ohio added. voyd, Texas added. All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  21. Not so sure - with my luck, I' d grab the drum with the mouse, only to let it drop overboard. I am good at that since a couple of years. Must be the decreasing eyesight...
  22. A small tracer mod I made

I am lazy, so I'll wait for RAF_Louvert's report. I found Creaghorn's tracers quite good, but then I haven't seen yours yet.
