Olham on a bicycle in Flanders, and driving a Model T along the Marne

Hptm. von Mahlo: "Verdammt! Zee Enemie hass encrypted der Messadge again!" Bordeauxred Baron: "Vell, I hav seen decrypted messadges from der Engländers, ant zey still did nott make sense!" -
almccoyjr: Remember to wear something that will protect your little toe. Flying boots? (Did the Baron laugh at you?) Bullethead, your story is brilliant - I know exactly how the cat was looking!

Munsell Color Conversion
Olham replied to Bullethead's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
I would like to get the CMYK or RGB values for a Methuen tone - can your converter deal with them? It is: Methuen 26D8/E8 -
Dammit! Early British Campaigns are tough
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Never had that sort of spin so far, but I'll be prepared (although that won't seem to help me much. according to your report). Lots of ammo are nice to have - if I should make it until the DH-5 arrives, I'll do my best - and kill Albatros! -
Perfectly right, Lou!

Without knowing, what a Rampie really is doing - if you wanted it so much, I wish you all the luck one needs nowadays to get that job, Widowmaker. All the best!

Found these videos, and I like that furry little pilot - enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTDuGaTRiJU

Oh, I see - be careful, Lou. Don't risk your life easily - there are duties here beyond tomorrow. In other words: we'd miss you too much.

Well, I know you love your Camel, like I love my Albatros - but if I was a turnfighter by heart, I would pick the Dr.1. That craft can do amazing things. We cannot directly do the flat turn Voss used against the S.E.5a - the sim is of a type that doesn't allow that - but if you put your nose down, you can almost rotate around your vertical center axis, without moving much anywhere. So the speed, in which that beast is able to fire at an opponent again, is IMHO unbeaten by any WW1 craft. But then, flying one's kite has also a lot do do with our love. And my love belongs to the Albatros - as yours belongs to the Camel. So we may have great one-night-stands with the Fokker - but without becoming unfaithful to our love.
-
Absolutely - the F6 gunsight won't satisfy you anymore, once you have TrackIR. I wish you much success with the set up.
-
For you as a turnfighter, I guess, these craft should be your favourites: Pup, Nupes, Triplane, Camel - and maybe the Dr.1, although she needs special treatment. Twoseats: Brisfit

You mean, you really fly Ultra Light aircraft? Wow - that must be great! And explains, why you are such a good OFF pilot.

Dammit! Early British Campaigns are tough

Bullethead, I could recover from the stalls and spins by taking throttle back to almost zero, and pushing the nose down. So I can handle that good enough that I could make it - if only the Einies wouldn't also shoot at me all the time. The way theybounce up and down and everywhere, I feel like a hopeless case - I never got that done in an Eindecker. The DH-5 is one craft I have never been flying so far. Can they fight, or are they rather only for ground attacks? Lou, to get to 100 hours in a DH-2 in "Bloody April" shows clearly: you must be a top notch pilot! But I won't give up - you can always grow (I hope). -
All New P3 Medals While We're Waiting For P4
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well, I will definitely try to get to enjoy them. Only problem: I must last long enough! Thanks a lot, Lou - they are looking marvellous! -
At the bottom of the TrackIR setup screen with the curves, you see the true headmovement degrees. You can make a curve wider or more narrow. If you make it more narrow, you won't have to turn the head so much, to get to the six, for example. Your move might be the "Roll" setting. Also make sure, that your TrackIR still can "see" your reflectors, when you duck. Otherwise it will get stuck too early. I have been able to duck and move to the right, to get the gunsight of the DFW really fine. You may also use the F6 button to switch to "Gunsight". To get out again, you will need to press F6 again, two or three times, until you are at the "normal" view again.
-
No, this was not the problem, Hellshade - both were the same. I am getting fraps in the 60s, so it shouldn't stutter. I wonder, if the problem may rather lie with TrackIR? My CPU is definitely the bottleneck for everything, with it's 2.83 GHz. I'm saving to get that changed.

All this maybe just a matter of taste? You sit in the crate, fly it and you see how you feel in it. For me, the Albatros was love at first sight. The SPAD XIII has a much worse view, that's true - but I can enjoy the SPAD, when I fly it differently. Attack, climb out, gain total overview, select next target, attack - and so on. The speed and climb, which can carry you out of almost anything, are great to enjoy. For the Nupes, I think you must have "the soul of a turn fighter". I never felt comfortable in the crate, but I will try it again.
-
I'm not at all a Nieuport expert, but doesn't the N 17bis have two guns, while the N 17 Lewis carries only one? Two guns are a lot heavier for engines of that time to carry in such airframes. That could slow the craft down IMHO.
-
Nice you enjoyed it together, m8 !
-
And that thingy can fly??? As a pilot, I would always have to ask again, which direction is forward.
-
Yeah, that's one craft I have also avoided so far. It must be very agile and sure has a good lift ratio, but that TV frame in front of you - naw! Albert George Falla? Your name is Simon, as I think I have read - was that your grand dad?

All New P3 Medals While We're Waiting For P4
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Guys, I think, that there is no link yet - I suppose, Lou only wanted to show the last step and will make them available again soon. The man also has a job & family. -
Absolutely, tranquillo! What I feel from reading this one - it was written with so much love for the kid. If there are light and darkness as contradicting forces in our universe, this book is fully on the "light" side.
-
Is that Piglet, from Winnie the Poo ? I loved that book as a kid, and still do. So much fine phantasy in there, and superb drawings. So you can fly this Navy trainer? (Boeing, I suppose?) I mean, you can remote steer it?
-
Creaghorn, I don't need any extra "rookie conditions" - I am enough rookie still without that! I mean - I can handle the Albatros types quite well, but now that I try the DH-2 - boy, now I only know, what I have with a D.II, and why Lanoe Hawker may have had little chances.
