"Zatt's better! Vee hav to fight ze Warr here at ze Western Front - you Crumpetz cannot leave mee alone?!"

From the P4 screenshots, I saw that they have changed/improved the skins, but I also assume like WM, that the file format and total size will remain. And: you will possible fly P3 for the most of 2011 anyway - I don't think, P4 will come early.

All New P3 Medals While We're Waiting For P4
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yeah, that's more like it, Lou! Must be trial and error about the stretching and distortion, to get that to look right? I have started an own EK2, but now you guys point out, that it may be even more complicated to do? -
I can run OFF BHaH + HitR (P3 + addon) with reasonable framerates (still not always perfect!), with a 2.83 GHz CPU. Below that, it is getting tricky, I'd say.

All New P3 Medals While We're Waiting For P4
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Lou, that is beautiful work, man. Thanks for sending them. I am experimenting now, how to get a better resolution. One thing seems wrong though in your log: the German national flag of the Kaiserreich was Black-White-Red. Black on top. Or is it something else? PS: here is a WIKI site with all the flags of the German Kingdom and Duchies. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaggen_und_Wappen_der_Bundesstaaten_des_Deutschen_Kaiserreichs -
My grandfather should have had a black one, but maybe his battle injuries happened before 3 March 1918. All I know is, that he was an infantry soldier. In his first storm attack, he ran into machine gun fire and had got both arms shot through. After that, he was sent home invalid. (I was too young, when he died - couldn't ask him about any details).

Hellshade: But no, Olham, Winder should definately not hand them out before Phase 4. Did I say anything else? I think, not??? No, I can wait for a good job to get really accomplished - other than so many other games.

Lewie, perhaps this thread I only recently started, might be helpful: http://combatace.com/topic/62009-lowest-system-specs/page__view__findpost__p__468876

Was that a question? Well, here is WIKI anyway. It's in English, cause here the English and German versions are equally detailed. On other German matters, the German version is often much more detailed. http://en.wikipedia...._le_M%C3%A9rite This part is interesting for our sim / Quote Wikipedia: By World War I, the oak leaves often indicated a second or higher award of the Pour le Mérite, though in most cases the recipients were still high-ranking officers (usually distinguished field commanders fitting the criteria above; the few lower ranking recipients of the oak leaves were mainly general staff officers responsible for planning a victorious battle or campaign). In early 1918, it was proposed to award the oak leaves to Germany's top flying ace, Manfred von Richthofen, but he was deemed ineligible under a strict reading of the regulations. Instead, Prussia awarded von Richthofen a slightly less prestigious honor, the Order of the Red Eagle, 3rd Class with Crown and Swords. This was still a high honor, as the 3rd Class was normally awarded to colonels and lieutenant colonels, and von Richthofen's award was one of only two of the 3rd Class with Crown and Swords during World War I.

Yeah, our food & beer - sigh! - the reason, why the old trousers won't fit anymore...

UncleAl, the German equivalent for the Purple Heart (which is the oldest wounded badge), was the "Verwundeten-Abzeichen" Kaiser Wilhelm II. founded the Verwundeten-Abzeichen (Wounded Badge) on 3 March 1918 for all troops, incl. aviators. There were three versions: - Black = wounded 1 or 2 times - Silver = wounded 3 or 4 times - Gold = wounded 5 or more times

Screen Shots, Videos, Media, OFF Posters

4 SPAD VII flying low over our area became easy prey for Jasta 19 today. Ten minutes into the patrol, we saw them crossing our flight path from east to west, much lower. It is quite rare to catch SPADs low, and so we jumped at them like hawks. They were about to attack Udet's Jasta 15 airfield at La Selve, and they were so concentrated, that they didn't notice us, until we fired right into them from close range. It was almost too easy. I caught two pics of the second one I shot down right above the field. -
Paarma, you guys rock!

The Great War BBC from 1964, on Youtube

Yeah, that's interesting about the Jasta 11 pilot. When I saw "Thirteen Days" I only understood, how close the wipe-out of mankind was during the Cuba crisis. I was a little boy then, and I still remember, how my dad seemed like glued to the radio (we didn't have TV then). One day, when he had late shift, I tried to follow it, and when he came home, I told him "Nothing bad happened with the Cuba crisis, dead." I didn't have a glimpse, what it was all about. There may be differing opinions about the Kennedy brothers here (which is normal, cause it's politics), but I am very grateful, that "Jack" and "Bobby" managed to keep the control and sanity & reason. We could have all burned. -
Always a pleasure to be able to help, boys. Now, if you both could remember, what exactly made the difference, it might help others too?

Never seen anything from the eastern front yet - good footage; thanks for posting, Carrick!

It does work in Win7, jwrich - it does. Follow this exactly: 1. To take the pic from the ingame Log, press "Print Screen / Prt Scr" (orange dart in my pic). 2. Exit the sim, and open PAINT. 3. Make "New File" - you should now get an empty file with the res of your monitor screen 4. Press Ctr. + V (for: insert) - you should now see your log
-
If you regard the numbers as degrees of the view angle, you see: the higher the number / the more degrees, the wider is your Field of View - with the result, that you see more at once, but smaller. When you take smaller numbers/less degrees, you should see everything closer, but less of the total. But make sure after changing the numbers, to press "Set FOV" - otherwise nothing will happen.

I'm glad when I can help - I got so much good help and advice here, too. Clouds on "5" shouldn't be so demanding; I have it on 5 too - it's the "Scenery detail" I found out, followed by "Terrain detail". I have "terrain detail" on "3" and the "Scenery detail" on 2 - still looking great, as my "Screenshots" may show.

Really? Hey, that great to hear! Have fun, elephant!

It just struck me - I had that song in my head, from YES album "Close to the Edge". And although I never really liked that high voice singing of Anderson, I own some of their early seventies records. "And You and I" is my favourite Yes-song, and when I saw this video now, I thought the same thoughts like our parents may have thought, when we were young: "Back in our days of youth, the people could really play!" Think I'm getting old... PS: Alan White could really rock that triangle!

"Naw, naw, son - let me tell you: everything WAS much better in the past - even the future! How old are you now, kid? Fiftyfive? At your age, I was sixty already! Beat that, young man!" Yer right, Widowmaker, and I never stopped listening to and buying new music. And my taste is rather - ahm - special; no one usually knows the bands I like. Do you know more from Procol Harum than just "A Whiter Shade of Pale"? Or - more recent - do you know "Curve", "Sigur Rós" or "Archive"? Lewie, when I look back on bands like Focus, Nice, Procol Harum and many others, it is so obvious nowadays, that - although they tried to be new and different to their parents - they were very influenced by the classical music they had played, when they learned their instruments. Focus was among the records my friends had and played at their parties.
