  1. Pursuing Goals

Hmmm - so we can drink milk and eat roasted partridges and fruit then. Quite some progress. Maybe the ladies are only planned for P5 ... Reminds me of James Dietz' painting, where all the pilots are just leaving from the ladies...
  2. Imagine, the YouTube Polizei sitting behind their screens in a big, dark, smoky room. "Ah, there goes Olham again! Nooo - I can't believe it - the bastard is watching that Iron Maiden content, which we have censored for Germany! We must get the record industry informed!!!! If even the Germans won't pay for these things anymore, they will all get bankrupt!!!"
  3. Pursuing Goals

Ladies? We have ladies in OFF ???!
  4. Made Ace today

Congrats, Wodin! Especially about the wingmen still all being alive. I can only hope you won't have bad luck from now on - some pilots here, me incl., have noticed, that short after showing their records, the pilot fell. I wish you better luck!
  5. Nope, been there - seen some of it! And with the install of "HotSpot", maybe I can also see many more other previously blocked vids.
  6. Pursuing Goals

yes, as I said: Accomplishing the missions = quicker promotion Shooting down many enemies = more medals (That's why I usually have lots of metal on my tunic's chest, but still am only Leutnant)
  7. P4 pics

Hmmmm - maybe we should settle our toasting in the middle of no man's land; somewhere in 1917; with both our fighters too crippled to fly on; and after the toast, we walk back each to our own lines, while all the trench soldiers can't seem to get their food-holes shut again. (I know, it's a very romanticised version of the war, but hey - we have all the freedom to do so!)
  8. P4 pics

...and the ignition could only be seen, if you took the spark plug out to gaze through that hole - but then it... ah, forget about that.
  9. Pursuing Goals

No witnesses - no confirms. Like in RL. (You are still allowed to fight them though - for your honour, for your country...)
  10. I want to get this film

The event with the "feather-woman" on the bus shows one thing to me so well: how easily we sometimes act with prejudice, without knowing the truth..
  11. P4 pics

Well, a pic of you on the truck wouldn't harm anyone. And if they attacked you first, then I understand your reactions - always makes me upset, when someone shoots at me! We don't have any SchlaSta yet, although we have the Hannover for a start. Is that FS WW1 the Flight Simulator (Microsoft) you are talking about? Come on, show a pic or two.
  12. P4 pics

Shooting Albatros??? My beloved bird???!!! Raaaaaahhhhhh!!!!! Okay, were is my notebook... - "Vaux airfield; Thornycroft truck!" ... I have noted that! Now I need photographs... I'll be there - some day I will come over there with the elite of Jasta 5! And they will all know by then, how a Thornycroft truck is looking!!!
  13. P4 pics

Yes, Hellshade - yes, yes! ...
  14. P4 pics

Yeah, Guinness is not my taste either - there are other, better "black beers" in England. If you like a rich "thick" taste (and more RPM) you may like this one: "Einbecker Urbock hell" They also make a dark one - "Einbecker Urbock dunkel", but I find it too sweetish. But the "Hell" is a very good one. No, I am not a modder, nor am I in the OFF Team. I make my own skins, and I uploaded some of them for all to use; but apart from that, I am just an average OFF Pilot. Well, maybe addicted rather....
  15. P4 pics

Yeah, the Albatros has even more "modifications", like valves on the engine, and a better ammo hood/tunnel. Even if the radiator handle won't be functional, the whole kite looks so much better! Gee - it is a great feeling to wait for something so great like OFF is for me! Lewie - does it taste after it's name? (Shudder!)

Are beer glasses allowed in the cockpit? If we should ever meet on a field, cause you forced me down, or I forced you to land, we should be prepared, Widowmaker. You bring some bottles of Old Speckled Hen, and I bring the glasses. Wouldn't that be a nice way to celebrate that?
  17. Beside my 1916 pilot, I have now started another one with Jasta 5, and his first sortie introduced him to hell below heaven - RFC-40 attacked his field with no less but 15 S.E.5a ! Leutnant Wolfram Olhoff could force Ian P R Napier to land at Awoingt. Short after this, he shot down another Tommy over the same field. He may be unlucky with his claims though - he was the last man standing. Errh - flying!
  18. OFF's Haunting theme

Well, over at "Wings of Honour" are tons of patches and mods, it seems. Didn't try it out, but should still be downloadable. And perhaps the music you wanted, is among that stuff? http://www.wingsofho...hes_uop.en.html I saw the "Hell's Angels" stuff by James "OvS" Romano there, who is now "our" famous skinner here at "OFF". I envy you guys - I must have missed a lot of early fun.
  19. tractor vs pusher heat

Yeah, Bullet is right there, Lewie - what a bout drinks? Welcome to OFF! And if you send me a PM with your town and country, I'll add you to the OFF Forum Pilots maps. And to make that clear - I have also voted for more two-seaters in P4. I need some variation in my claim reports. Mmuahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!
  20. Restored BE2 flies

Yes, according to Wikipedia, you are both right there, Wayfarer and Bullethead - they also name de Havilland as constructor.
  21. tractor vs pusher heat

"The even more successfull C.VII came to service fitted with a morse device, or in the variant Rumpler C.VII as an outstanding photo reconnaisance plane with a sequential camera; where the pilot-MG was abandoned for the benefits of giving the crew an oxygen apparatus and electrically heated flying suits, allowing them to work at 7.000 Meter (23.000 ft). C.VI and C.VII were so fast at high altitude, that they could easily withdraw from any attacks by Entente fighters - a big advantage, because a great deal of the photo reconnaisance had to be flown far beyond the front lines over enemy terrain. Both types remained in service until the end of the war."
  22. OT- Iron Maiden - Paschendale

I suppose that was meant to be a compliment, Hasse Wind. But as long as people like our politicians or music like "Modern Talking" is regarded as normal here, I would much rather remain the one I am - pretty crazy. My ideal are the British. But however long I may try - I will never be that crazy.
  23. tractor vs pusher heat

From all pictures of pilots about to make a sortie, I gained the impression, that it was always rather cold up there. Theoretically, the tractor should give some warmth in front of you. But they didn't seem to have any systems to channel the warm air down to the bottom of the cockpit. If it could have been done at all, then only from an inline engine. Too difficult to catch and use the warm air coming off from a rotary, I suppose. And even then: you would have had to make sure to gain and use ONLY warm air, without any petrol or oil fumes, which would have effected the pilot. So, boots were by far the simplest solution. What I am wondering about is: I think I have read somewhere about electric heating in dresses (and boot?). Does anyone know about that? A dynamo could easily be driven by a running engine.
  24. Restored BE2 flies

...and here is their Beardmore Engine. http://thevintageavi...re-engine-build Want to see and here it running? http://thevintageavi...e-engine-action And what about the R.E.8 they are building - lots of photographs of the work in progress: http://thevintageaviator.co.nz/projects/re8-reproduction/vintage-aviator-re8
  25. Restored BE2 flies

Maybe there will be two BEs soon - The Vintage Aviator seem to be restoring one. See here: http://thevintageavi...nz/projects/be2 What I had not known: BE seems to mean Blériot Experimental - a French design?
