  1. Multiple Claims Question

The witness names belong into the top frame/line first. No ranks; first name and family name.
  2. Multiple Claims Question

It is better to claim each aircraft seperately, even if they are the same type. I checked my claim confirms some time ago and found, that from three claims of the same fight, two got confirmed, and one rejected. Had I written them all into one line, they might have all been lost. Make sure you write the names of your wingmen down before the start, so you can write them in. And never use semicolons in a claim. The program can't read it to end then, and they will never get confirmed.
  3. Wodin, you could regard the good side of all that bad luck - you can start again tomorrow. So many men had only the first and only chance to try and learn all this. (I know it doesn't help - I went through all that myself).
  4. Wow - 264 flying hours - sorry; I should have named you too, Lou - you and Creaghorn are there, where I hope to get some day. That I really fly, as if I could lose my life. But I'm growing.
  5. Hello everyone

I am sure you Australians stand together and help each other, as you help the Kangaroos. Here is a link with pictures of Kangarro Rescue: http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http://images.mirror.co.uk/upl/m4/dec2010/4/2/image-2-for-kangaroo-rescue-gallery-906003066.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/12/11/kangaroo-flood-rescue-mission-launched-in-australia-pictures-115875-22775237/&usg=__ZaGSgcspaa9MU6BPLZ_4h2Q4ca4=&h=338&w=450&sz=46&hl=de&start=1&zoom=1&tbnid=3QNzHpsB5ELQXM:&tbnh=95&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dkangaroo%2Bflood%26hl%3Dde%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DG%26gbv%3D1%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1
  6. Hello everyone

Here is one report with sat pics and graphics. http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http://feww.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/qld-flood-map-10-01-2011.jpg%3Fw%3D376%26h%3D503&imgrefurl=http://feww.wordpress.com/&usg=__13VZmqottpTMlYekflP0gX0h0g4=&h=503&w=376&sz=36&hl=de&start=1&zoom=1&tbnid=oOZUefwLbXxk6M:&tbnh=130&tbnw=97&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbrisbane%2Bflood%2Bsatellite%26hl%3Dde%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DG%26gbv%3D1%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1
  7. Hello everyone

Man I wish you all the best of luck for that flood - in the news here they say, it is an area as big as France and Germany together! And yesterday I saw, it now reaches down to Brisbane. I hope the Kangaroos can swim?
  8. New to Hat in the Ring

jwrich, here is a Jpeg I made some time ago - in it you find all necessary instructions for a decent graphics setup. http://combatace.com/topic/60374-an-easy-pictorial-guide-graphics-setup/page__view__findpost__p__452080 And remember to set the screen ratio either to 4:3 or to 16:10 in "Workshops" I wish you luck with all this.
  9. The chance of collision is one big problem we easily tend to disregard. Even such an aware ace and air combat pacemaker as Boelcke died in a crash resulting from a collision. I also always scream and shout my head off about the other idiot, but in a collision, there are always two. The more risky I fly, the more likely I may crash into someone, or make possible, that he crashes into me. (Gawd - am I teaching again? I hate that actually!) But really, if we seriously try our best to avoid that, we may get less kills, but fly much more realistic. But it's easily said - I also still am learning to drop the hotspur and become more like Creaghorn.
  10. The best against Biffs is excellent long range and deflection shooting. Costs some more ammo, but how proud will you feel, when you knock one down. I always send at least two wingmen to attack the same Brisfit - that way the chance of getting under fire gets divided by 3.
  11. New to Hat in the Ring

Well, ahem - I don't understand the question???? To me, HitR was like getting P4 almost. Make sure you get all graphic settings right; see my "Field of View" thread for that, too.
  12. Bordeauxred Baron: "Mmuahahahahahaaaaa!!!! Vee from ze Dark Side can use Auto-trim, vee do Worp, vee hav fuel manadgement ant paint our aircraft colourfully; vee eat fat mealz ant drink too mutch; in one word - vee hav fun! Ant vee shall vin ze war! Mmuahahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!!!" (If I had a Werkmeister in OFF, I would trim the craft with him, but as I don't, I mostly trim per "Elevator trim key". Recently I used Auto-trim - I wanted to see what it can do on an instabke craft like the Fokker Dr. 1. And it worked quite well - until I warped.)
  13. Elephant, you should - like smilingmonkey - send a mail to support@overflandersfields.com They must do something; two months is not acceptable. They will need your order data.
  14. Do you YouTube users here know, what you accept when you create an account there? I am not sure if I should go through the process - on the other hand, I have made a new video.
  15. New rules at YouTube?

Seems you found the perfect Windows for you, Unc!
  16. Back at Base

You got me wrong there, CatSopwith - I could not find that earlier pilot again, whom you used for your first, old avatar. Roderic Dallas I know - I had several fierce fights with him already in OFF. I think he flew in some RNAS unti? And had a brown-red Tripe for some of the time?
  17. Back at Base

Just tried to find the pilot you used as your first avatar here, but I could neither find him among our British, nor among the French or US photos. Could it be, that you have chosen him from "The Aerodrome" website? He was a young man with a fly-shuttle on his head, looking determined into the camera. After your surgery, you can now enjoy jogging again, I suppose. Make the best of that!
  18. Okay, here are some possible FOV settings for your resolution. Set the ratio on 16:10 on the left. 24 x 15 (closer to environment/less total overview/larger enemy aircraft specs) 26 x 16 27 x 17 (more remote from environment/more overview/smaller enemy aircraft specs)
  19. Back at Base

Welcome back, CaptSopwith! I just realised, that your latest avatar confuses me. Is that Robert Little? Your first avatar is still in my memory, and I always imagined, that's you (cause I did not know that pilot). I wonder, if others think the same about me - I had after a long time changed my avatar, but may come back to the first one soon. With all those Xmas presents, I hope you won't stop learning and preparing. (I know I would, probably). Me, I'm okay, but feel very bad about my lazyness of last year. So I have taken some New Years pledges for myself, like - learning more about graphic programs - jogging at least twice a week - going to the Fitness studio at least once a week - slimming through all that by 4 - 6 kilo I know it's a lot, but if you don't make many pledges, you may end up with nothing done?
  20. Sorry, I had come to the conclusion from your own FOV setting of 20 x 15, which would be a ratio of 4:3 But that was wrong - you have a 16 x 9 screen ratio ; and so the setting 16:10 should be used. (1920 : 16 = 120; and 1080 : 120 = 9; so you have 16 : 9)
  21. "Band of Brothers" was a great production, and the character you liked immediately, was Winters. I was sad, when he left the Easy company - the last episodes without him were not the same anymore. If he was such a decent and reliable chap in RL, the Easy company was very lucky they had him. He was a natural, caring leader - the one you would wish to have in a war. Rest in peace, Major Winters - you surely have saved lives through your good care.
  22. The Brisfit is not called "Bristol Fighter" for nothing - you can use it like one, and you will find it can do incredible maneuvers - like in a Helter Skelter! I tried it for some time and if there is any two-seater I would dare to enter German held territory in, then it would surely be the Brisfit. We once turned with Manfred's lot, and they only got one of ours, but they lost four Albatros. A Hellfighter that is!
  23. In advance of Burns night...

Thanks, Flyby - I may travel to Scotland one day, and then I'll try it there. Yer right, Pol - what I meant was Black Pudding, I suppose. I wonder how those Yorkshire puddings are getting into such a small round shape - I'll search fro recepies. Quite confusing, cause in Germany, Pudding is a sweet dessert. Here is a "Vanillepudding" with strawberry sauce.
  24. Okay, you wanted a vertical of 16 degrees for your FOV. Then we must divide the vertical resolution by 16 1200 : 16 = 75 Now we must divide the horizontal resolution by these 75. 1920 : 75 = 25,6 Now you can only round that to either 25 or 26, and your FOV would then be 26 x 16 If you used 20 x 16 so far, you had a loss in width. You should now get a good bit more view left and right. You can also use 24 x 15, which is a bit "closer" to everything.
  25. Hello everyone

Just one crooked thought of mine: maybe they had no more discs ready, and neither had they any covers done for the box? Then your order came, and it was pushed aside for days, because new discs had to be done, and new prints. Then your request mails came, and someone finally decided to burn new copies and print more covers, and so the whole thing got pretty delayed. (Just a thought - one of those I try to comfort myself with in such moments - it never really works...) Edit/PS: After a whole month, you should contact OBD again about this - it is just too long.
