  1. When we saw, that one flyer* had achieved 11 kills in only two sorties, we realised that results like that would not be reflecting the reality of those days of early air combat. So a different system for the counting of kills was installed. (*not the flyer's fault at all, so I won't name him here) Now we also have abother problem, which results more or less from the first one: medals may be awarded also much sooner than they would have been in real life. Now, RAF_Louvert had made a chart back in 2011, with more realistic time-sets for awarding the medals of all nations, which we could use - or not. Some would like it less complicated; other would like it more realistic. What do you think? THE VOTERS WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS IN THIS POLL - JUST VOTE HOW YOU REALLY FEEL ABOUT IT
  2. Rules for the counting of "Victories", and latest chart added in post #1.
  3. (Copy from the other forum) Eleven victories in two sorties were reported - however grand that may have been, MudWasp - it makes me think about additional rules. What I wanted to create, is a campaign which is all about realistic flying and realistic fighting or withdrawal, and 11 victories in 2 sorties are not ANYwhere near that. Not your fault, MudWasp. I'm not sure, what the max. victories were in a single sortie in WW1 - someone with better knowledge may come in here - but I know that even a "doublette" (two victories in one sortie) was rather rare, even among the aces. If we would leave this as it is now, the hunting for dozens of victories would start again, and I am not willing to have this in the DiD Campaign. We all know that WOFF sometimes allows that to happen, and of course it is not a player's fault if it does. He may even have a fierce fight, where it's "me or them" - where he must shoot it out, cause they don't let him get away. But we must find a way then, to get to more realistic numbers. What I am thinking about is this - we could count per sortie: 1 - 3 victories = 1 victory 4 - 6 victories = 2 victories and more than 6 victories count as 3 victories - more won't be accepted. What do you others think about this proposal?
  4. A big "Thank you" for this beauty, Lou! If my second pilot should also fall, I will try it near the North Sea with LEVEL A flying by real map. Your fine work should come handy there!
  5. Lou, I said it in the other forum, and I say it here again: they are just wonderful pieces of art work! And here, where I see them larger than at SimHQ. I even realise: you have "printed" the "OFF" emblem into the silk cushioning for the medal case lid. Brilliant work! I think all DiD Campaign flyers who receive one, should place it with their signature!
  6. What is a "GFY" ??? The tip was meant because you had free time at hand/couldn't fly. "Screen captures" should easily work with the "Print" key (top row of keyboard). You make one, open a program like Photoshop or PAINT, make "new file" and insert the capture (Ctrl. + V).
  7. Go out bathing and then invite your loved one to a restaurant terrace and have a pizza!
  8. TO ALL PILOTS: Rank for German Marine-Flieger campaign added in post #1. MudWasp, yes, sure - you can advance the time to find out, how many care-free days you may have to enjoy with a short holiday trip. You only don't fly before the real life date catches up. To assign targets, you have the TAC on "Ground Targets", and press the key to "assign target". Pls check the "Workshop" ("Remap Keys" section )for the right keys - I have changed it all in my setup.
  9. TO ALL PILOTS Pls check your "Privat Messages" each time you come in (Envelope symbol at the top of this forum page). Jim_Attrill has found different problems here and there, and will contact the pilots that way.
  10. Guys, you can publish your "DiD Campaign" reports here - I changed the title of the thread. MudWasp, you must bring the TAC on for "gound targets", select a target, and then use the command "Attack". Only works of course, if you are the flight leader.
  11. Updated DiD Records Chart from Wednesday, June 11, published in post #1.
  12. Great report, ulti! And yes, "Victories" must be confirmed, before they can get listed.
  13. Jim, ulti and all - the RNAS flyers can only enlist in the lowest available rank available in WOFF. We need to see and report, when we get promoted, and so we cannot add ranks which are not in the WOFF selection.
  14. Ah, I see - not sure if you can still change / add that, Jim?
  15. No, Maeran - wounded is wounded. You are just hospitalised, I guess. Jim_Attrill, can you change that still? No need to collect data about injuries; we'd only need to know "Was your pilot killed?" Everyone should send his final outcome data, when a pilot gets killed.
  16. ulti, for RNAS you should use their lowest rank - there are not so many ranks as for RFC.
  17. Might be best, if we start only tomorrow, to have everything ready as it should be?
  18. Ulti, you just need to send a PM to Jim_Attrill, and he will add your name to the list. EVERYone can can take part, who has WOFF. RNAS only offers 4 ranks, so start with the lowest rank there: Flight Sub-Lieutenant.
  19. Yes, always advance time to the actual real life date.
  20. Rules and valuation changed - hopefully for the last time!
  21. Not 1st of June, Jim - the actual real life date. that means, if you start on Saturday, you enlist on June 7th, 1916. You have to fly 3 hours on 2seaters - in flying school or in the field - that's your choice. To enlist on a specific day and in a specific unit, you click on "Manual enlistment" in the bottom right corner of the "Pilot Enlistment". For changing from the 2seater unit to a fighter squadron, you use the "Transfer" (switched to "Always approve"). Thanks for spotting the missing "Workshop" here - I'm quite bad at keeping it the same in both forums.
  22. Updates and correction made. The final rules update will be made and confirmed on Saturday evening; maybe earlier.
  23. Rules Page 4 changed - for LEVEL C flyers.
  24. Please vote for all questions - you will see the results after voting. Thank you!
  25. British_eh, thanks for the reminder. I wanted to make a campaign without too much "paperwork" to study. But I think players could use your recommendations, when they select the right LEVEL A, B or C.
