Berliner Mandelbrot - Almond Bread

Thanks for "translating it" into your weights, Jarhead. As this is a cake that doesn't come up very much, you can vary the parts a bit, von Baur. If you want to use only 10 oz of sugar, that's okay. Also can the spices be varied in amount. I used even more cinnamon and clove last time, which was okay for the cinnamon, but too much clove - for my personal taste. If you bake it and like it, you may do so more often and find yourself experimenting with it - it's not "chiseled in stone", as our UncleAl keeps saying. -
Wow, Andy, das ist super beschrieben - genauso ist OFF. Freut mich, daß Dir meine alte Hai-Skin für die Albatros gefällt. Du scheinst ihr ja alle Ehre zu machen.

This item is said to be original from that time. I read somewhere, that in the days of WW1 aviation, there were no specific googles made for aviator, and they used motorbike goggles. If that is true, you can sell any motorbike goggles as original WW1 pilot goggles? http://cgi.ebay.de/Orig-Fliegerbrille-1-Weltkrieg-Jasta-Roter-Baron-/380290462771?pt=Militaria&hash=item588b13f433

I Know What I'm Getting For Christmas!
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Here is something you may get for yourself for Christmas - a "Blue Max" Replica that looks quite good. http://cgi.ebay.de/R...=item53e537a9b7 PS/Edit: ...although: it only looks perfect in the upper picture - the lower ones have a darker blue. -

Lou, you have a wonderful woman - and I think you deserve it. Now I don't know if she has that typical female weak spot, but if so, you may drive with her to the nearest bigger city, and let her choose some extravagant shoes for a dancing evening. And then you must of course go out to dance with her. Those men who don't like dancing may find that bit hard - but you got such a special gift - I think you'd have to. -

It looks great, Jarhead - much better than my own first attempt! I can almost smell it from the picture. And now it is definitely a Christmas tradition - the kids will never let you out of this again! Glad you like it! -

Here is a picture of what I had left from the second tray I baked. It never lasts long. This time, I used backing paper underneath - makes it easier to get it off the tray. -

My baking tray is 35 x 40 cm, and 3 cm deep. The cake doesn't rise much - it won't be much more than 1,5 cm thick in the end. If you want it to rise more, you may well use a good teaspoon of baking powder. The pastry will be pretty tough - when it's flattened out, it may be ca. 1 cm thick, not much more. I wish you all good success! -

After getting my system back to work & flying conditions, and after having lost all pilots, I have created my first new aviator with Jasta 2, Bertincourt, 1 September 1916. I allowed myself to have a brown-green camo - as if I had just transfered in with the kite. Our first sortie was an epic one - with us were Hptm. Boelcke, Rittm. von Richthofen, Lt. Ritter von Mueller, Offzstvtr. Reimann and Lt. Gunther. Patroling over Erchin, we got engaged by two flights of British Nieuport 16 and 17 from RNAS-1. In the following fight, I saw Nieuports going down left and right; my wingmen did extraordinaily well; and so did of course Boelcke's 1. Kette. I managed to shoot down RNAS-1 ace Gerard, and one of his wingmen. If you have never flown with an elite unit - do yourself that favour! You will feel safe as a baby in mother's arms. -

Hmmm - I made a test and found that 100 g sugar is a cup of sugar. A "normal" coffee cup that is - not a mug! For the flour, I didn't want to pour it on my scale, cause I can't get it back into the bag without covering half the kitchen in white powder. You should just get more or less 3/4 of the amount of almond - optically. -
With a BIG help from a good friend, my system is running again. I still find all sorts of things to be adjusted again, but I have been in the air already. Alone, I would have been lost with this one - never had such a total crash before.

I am so sorry to hear that, mighty. I have lost my bigger customers of the 90s - most of them don't exist anymore, or have cut their budget for commercials, advertising and graphic designs. I am selfemployed, but on a very low income now - you're not at all alone; even if that may not be comforting. Lou, the prospects aren't good anywhere in the Western World right now. In the EU, many may be looking on Germany, which seems to be doing so damn great - bullsh*t; the lower middle class is dying here. More and more people loose their jobs, and the companies try to get the same work done with fewer people. So those have to work increible overtimes, while others don't have work at all. It is obvious, that this must be changed. But - crazy as it sounds - the human employee is the highest cost factor and therefor is getting more and more reduced. Although everyone must realise now, that there won't be customers anymore, when there are no incomes - no one seems to see a way out of this. Von Paulus, you have been "torpedoed from both sides" so to say, and I don't know what to say to you more than that I made the experience, that crisis is an open door - when you have walked through it, you may find something new and unexpected. That is what I wish for you. Perhaps you can try, what Widowmaker suggested? 46 is still young compared to me - I'm 10 years further on the road. Keep yourself fit, try your best, and don't give up! Over christmas, I will be in Ostfriesland to visit my old mum and my sisters. But be assured - I will think of you all.

Some time ago, I had changed the colours in my TAC, and made it smaller too. After my system crash and re-install, I wanted to do it again. I found three ViewUI.xml files, changed them all identically - and still get the standard colours? Does anyone know, where to find the right file?
-
Thank you guys! With your help, I found my mistake - I had set the first numbers for the opacity/transparency wrong. Here is a Jpeg to show how I have changed the colours now. I used these settings: Friend Color: 0x7F0099CC Enemy Color: 0x7FCC9900 Bogie Color: 0x7FCCCCCC Target Colour: 0x7FFFCC00 In the upper right corner you see the friend colour. The picture is a cutout - the TAC is much smaller now; I used a size of 0.24

The German googles in the post # 5 picture look way more modern than that anyway.

Yeah, a lot of tricks are played on those who don't REALLY know their details. If you buy expensive, rare items, let "love for them" be your engine - never "greed for having them".

When a butterfly in China flaps with it's wings...
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Got it all back working again! Thank god - nicest pre-Christmas present! Thanks, Lou - I used TuneUp Utilities to clean the registry; and after a clean install, it all works now. Not sure about your tip, 77Scout. Perhaps it works, when you install the sim on the C:bootdrive - I have mine under E:games. OFF seems to need to know, that there are folders under AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields? Not sure - never tried to drop the install and one flight with CFS3 (to get those folders created). Did you really get it all started without that proceedure? -

This is totally screwed up today! After de-installing all remains of OFF and CFS3, I had made new installs of both. (I made one flight on CFS3, as required). With the result, that OFF couldn't find a CFS3 map, and my campaign wouldn't start. So I de-installed it all again. This time I made sure to install CFS3 in English (before I had chosen "German"). Now I got the message during install: "Please insert CD 2" I am installing CFS3 from a one-DVD-box! I checked and made sure I hadn't accidently used the older CD's. No - I had used the DVD - and there is only one! I'll try it one more time today - if it won't work, I'll give it up. -
Just check Google Maps and type the name in. Then zoom into the map. If you pull the little yellow mannikin from the left into a road in the map, you will find yourself in Google Streetview. You can now walk around there with the arrows.
-
Oh lord - this is exactly what I have to do right now! I hope I will be luckier?
-
Yes, it's always "hitting the nail" - the kind of humour that unmasks everyone. Great series - I am even thinking of buying the box.

Yes, my pilots are all lost now, Hasse Wind. OFF was installed on another partition than C:, which we had to write back from an earlier saving. Still though, OFF didn't function anymore. I will now re-install it all again, after checking the install order in OFF's website.
