  1. Very kind of you, Parky - I wonder what they could have improved?
  2. Merry Chrstimas!

Seems it's a real card from that time, Javito. The artist, F. X. Kuczèra, had done chromolithographic illustrations for a childrens' ABC book from 1912.
  3. Thoughts on Gaming

OvS: I mean, how many times can you take your 152 out of Gabreski, up over Long Island and shoot the NDB approach for runway 36 into KFRG? Wish I has some mavericks under my wings so I can light up the CT when he tells me to go around for the missed approach. ;) Bordeauxred Baron: "Vee don't know yet vott ziss means, butt our intelligenz iss workink on der code - we ssink zee Americans are plannink somessink!"
  4. The angle, in which you would move your head with TrackIR, is only just the angle between looking from the left edge of your screen to it's right edge. Within that angle, you will receive the view from forward to check-six left or check-six right. The speed, in which the view will change, can be adjusted. I think, much more important might be in front of the screen, not to tense up your neck, which happens easisly due to the emotional stress during a dogfight. If you think you can make the movement from left to right edge of the screen more often (without doing that too hard, or tensed up), without getting a pain, then you could try it. Here is a NaturalPoint demo video, which may give you an idea:
  5. For elephant and all who don't yet fly with TrackIR: The hat switch will give you 8 angles; you can use the forward one for looking up; and when you leave the hat switch, it will jump back to forward view. You can toggle the views from "snap view" to "pan view" (or how it's called - see in "Controls"). If you put the toggle command on any joystick button, you can have the gliding "pan view" during normal flying; and as soon as a fight begins, you can toggle to "snap view", which makes quick checking the six (and all other directions) much faster and easier. Personally, I never liked "Padlock view" - it fixes me to the target, makes my flying complicated, and doesn't allow quick checks in other directions. It always felt most unnatural to me.
  6. That's what happened already - faked Lozenge patterns have been offered.
  7. New FM mod is in the works

Herr Prop-Wasche has already altered the D.V a bit, which I use a lot recently; the wing damage doesn't happen easily anymore. But still, Hasse Wind is right - the later craft should be slight improvements to the D.II, which they are not really. The behaviour of D.V and D.Va at higher altitudes (still within their historical max. ceiling) is so far yet rather strange. One question, Herr Prop-Wasche: when I use your complete package of FMs already, and then add the N28 (which is also in the big package) - does it not make problems? Shouldn't the new N28 model get integrated into the whole big package?
  8. Merry Chrstimas!

Hope you really check the forum 'till tomorrow morning - there may be reason to (hint, hint). I wish you 'frohe Weihnachten' and a happy New Year, with all the good people, great food and drinks, CaptSopwith!
  9. In Germany we say: Kakao. In the English dictionary I found "cacao (botan.)" and thought that was it. But now I see, you say "Cocoa", which I had always thought it would mean our "Kokos", which is the edable part of the coco nut. Confusion accomplished?
  10. Time to get back to topic, I think. Here are two new pictures. No. 13 - Leeds, England Hometown of Slartibartfast (although he is in vienna right now) No. 14 - Dahlonega, Georgia Hometown of CaptSopwith
  11. Well, if you want TrackIR but can't get it in Greece, I could buy it for you in the Netherlands for 125,- Euro, and then send it to you. If you want that, just send me a PM, elephant.
  12. I'm gonna be a Grand-Dad

In Germany we have a saying: Was lange währt, wird endlich gut. (Good things come to those who wait).
  13. No Delivery of Game!

Congrats, Dokken1212 - and if you can change the title of this thread still - it should be: my game arrived! Although - it isn't a game.
  14. Congrats, dokken1212 - so it worked, as Polovski said it would. Great to hear. May I repeat my standard line again here: This game ain't easy, because it is not a game. Take your time for learning one specific craft of your choice - best is in "Quick Combat", and there in "Free flight", without opponents. It will take a long time to get really god on just only one type of aircraft. This sim provides you with stuff for years, honest! Head up, elephant - if his sim arrived, yours will too.
  15. And once again: THIS VIDEO CONTAINS UMG CONTENT AND IS NOT AVAILABLE IN YOUR COUNTRY How big would it be compressed with Win RAR, elephant? Perhaps it can be sent as a Windows Video File?
  16. Correct, Carrick - it is! Funny thing there in Google Streetview is: on one side of the freeway you get newer, better pictures than on the other. I used the better side.
  17. You are looking along one helicopter blade - every full turn you see the rear rotor. The speaker explains, that the elastic movements of the blade absorb the vorticity forces, which would otherwise destroy the helicopter.
  18. This is for you, Hasse Wind - but maybe others like to watch them too. http://www.flieger-album.de/album/Album%2005%20-%20Luftbilder%20%5B1917%5D/index.html
  19. No, you're right: that isn't Voss. Where can I see that better quality footage, elephant?
  20. Thank you for the info - the helicopter boys were often quite close to the sh*t there.
  21. Just checked it, and Jasta 19 was at Balatre 29. 3. - 13. 4. 1918. German offensives early 1918 moved the front lines far west for short time. The ingame landscape cannot always get changed accordingly. Switch on "Labels" - then you will see "German frontline" and "British frontline" as labels over the front.
  22. You could click on "advance time" in the briefing menue. So you would pass the transfer. Next day, you should be on the new field. You'll see, if you will be a POW - or if you can fight on. If you'll be PoW, you should send that outcome to the devs.
  23. Hmm - German or not, they look old enough to me to be WW1 goggles.
  24. For all who havent seen this yet, or want to see it again: the amazing flying of Falcons and Hawks Flying with the fastest birds on the planet: Peregrine Falcon & Gos Hawk Willing to fly - Peregrine Falcon
