Cameljockey's avatar has the "Chamelion Eyes" - very useful for WW1 flyers, as they can check two directions at the same time! Be aware, that Elite Jasta members may steal kills of you - but on the other hand, they are the best wingmen to fly with! I feel nowhere safer than in Jasta 2 or Jasta 11. As for flying after maps, RAF_Louvert is the better expert. I have only done ca. 5 sorties. I was flying at 6.000 - 9.000 feet, but it isn't always easy to follow rivers or roads, and they are not always correct. As my map, I use excerpts from RAF_Louverts Western Front map (see downloads). You may as well try mine, which was glued together from RABU's maps, and I put all airfield names into it. (Also see download section.)

Are there new Mark Miller pics, or did I only overlook some?

The trees may be carrying their new thriving buds to become leaves soon? In May that's possible. -

Goodvibes, the "OFF Forum Pilots Maps" are in the Sticky Thread of the same name. You can find all the Forum pilots' locations in there. You are also added now - click here to check: http://combatace.com...post__p__315225 -
TaillyHo: ...judging from your older posts, Jasta 3 or 4 are "good" (rated) squads to start with from August 1916 Jasta 1 and Jasta 2, Bertincourt (Elite units), get the Halberstadt 22 August / 1 September 1916; Jasta 4, Roupy, (Morale: Good); on 25 August 1916; the great thing about the "Pilot Enlistment" Menue is, that you can click through the Jasta, the times of enlistment AND see, where they would be based by then. So you are provided with a lot of choice - even, which landscape you would most like to fly in. By the North Sea? In the Marne area? Around Verdun? Over the beautiful Alsace? It's all there!

It is, because the music copyright owners still seem to make most of their money in Germany. And for that very reason ,their solicitors block many videos with music content for the German market.

TaillyHo: ...so I'll be looking for an early entry into the Kaiser's service too... Well, if you chose the Bristol Scout on British side, you are surely bound for the Fokker Eindecker E.III - which isn't too bad, once you can handle it. But if I should recommend you the earliest German OFF fighter to really enjoy - I'd pick the Halberstadt. Still a single-gun fighter, it can turn and climb well enough to even fight Nieuports in it. The Albatros D.I or D.II will feel incredible after that!

You will need to check through the "Full DiD Campaign rules, as Siggi and I had it all fixed, which Squadron or Jasta is to be joined. The Germans can only fly either two-seaters at FA(A) 250, or fighters at Jasta 6. But I can't tell you for the British; sorry. Mike Dixon should know.

While his tone is not always the politest (he must have lost it in "Nam" - only UncleAl gets away with that ), Stratos, his informations are often helpful and of friendly intention. Forgive him, if you can. Run the sim in your screens highest resolution. How to set it up, see my "Graphic Settings tutorial". You should see damage then.

This video is not available in your country.

Slartibartfast, if you want to join, you might want to train on some fighters too? (Not sure, what the British are flying right now). Or do you intend to stay with the Strutters?

Flyby: It's a very dangerous mindset to have, thinking 'it can't happen here'. Look at 9-11, - it can. You may have got me wrong there, Flyby. I did not mean, that war cannot happen in the "Western World". What I meant to say was, that the countries of the Western World (America and Europe) wouldn't fight each other no more. 9-11 was an attack carried to America from outside this "Western World". It was a terrorist attack. I do not regard that as a regular war. In a war, soldiers in uniforms fight other soldiers in uniforms. Terrorists and partisans are a different story - at least for me.

Personalised Skins for non-Skinners by Hobby-Skinners
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks, Lou - but I'd like to put that right once again: I have only chamged the spinner colours on the D.II, and attached the crest and letters; plus the white-red stripes on the D.V. The whole skins are available in OFF already; both are Jasta 16 skins; the D.V was made by Paarma as far as I know; unfortunately the D.II skin templates don't tell, who did those. -
Welcome to OFF and the Forum, TallyHo! "European Air War" - sigh - it was sooo great back then! You will love OFF, I can already see from your lines. That you ordered TrackIR was a TOP decision - you will really be in the cockpit for the first time of all your simming! It may take a while to get used to it, but now, if I check my six and see my own tailplane and rudder by slightly turning my head left or right, is SOOO phantastic! If I hadn't given up on any alcohol, I would have an Isley Single Malt, but if you can get me well good brewed coffee... Please send me a PM with your town & country/state - I want to add you to our OFF Forum Pilots maps.

What is your favorite way to evade a superior enemy?

I have indeed been able to escape DH-5 by entering a really thick white cloud with no vision at all. When I left it much lower and set off to the right, they had lost me. -

Personalised Skins for non-Skinners by Hobby-Skinners
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hellman, as a graphic designer you will find it rather easy to cut out and refine or change parts like hoods or rudders etc. for using it in layers. But all these skins are OBD stuff. Everyone may work on his own skins to personalise them, but I wouldn't feel okay, if I sent "my" altered parts around - I would feel like saying "Hey, look, OBD - I can do better"; and I don't want to bring about such an impression. I think you will understand that. You will find the community is a very good one here - I would want no other. By the way: Gous wrote a fine skinning tutorial over in the skinning section of the forum. If you really want to have a go at this, you will find it easy, and you will want your own works anyway. -
Carrick, thanks for the crests. It would be good to know, what each crest stands for? Here is a link for Stuttgart: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Wappen_in_Stuttgart

What is your favorite way to evade a superior enemy?
Olham replied to vonOben's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Welcome to OFF, Goodvibes - I'm sure you'll love the OFF Campaign. What this team has built so far is incredible; you can fly in so many Squadrons/Jastas/Escadrilles; and what happens around you is built really tight to history. The background of all the aces, and their momentary victory slate for each day is in there - it's wonderful. And the devs are just working on making it even much better (see the "New Screenshots from P4" sticky thread above). Haha, yeah, "Flying Corps Gold" - back in those days I was exited about that sim, and I still have it somewhere. Thanks for the info - I will add your name to the OFF Forum Pilots maps now. The realism settings can be widely chosen in the "Workshop" of OFF - you can setup almost everything. Go to the "Over Flanders fields" website and follow the installation guide. After install, you may want to set up your workshop - we'll do that then; you will get help here with that, if you want - especially for setting up the best graphic settings. So long! -
Then it must have looked almost as small as in my OFF Pilots Maps? Although it must be pretty big. Never been there, nor looked down upon Finland - all I know is Sibelius' beautiful "Finlandia". (And Hasse Wind. And Paarma, of course!)

Personalised Skins for non-Skinners by Hobby-Skinners
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hellman, I am making all my skins, and the ones I have uploaded, from the basic one-layer skins as they are in OFF. I have cut out and copied and pasted a helluvalot. And if my skinning mates don't know any secret file folders I haven't found yet - then they do it the same way. Only other way: you could order one here.
