  1. Beanie - you will fly DiD again? That's great - I'm very lonely there, and so is Hasse Wind in FA(A) 250. I had hoped you would join in. Which aircraft types would you like to do most?
  2. DH 5

They were in front? Ooooppss! What did I believe to remember to have seen? Must go check the Mark Miller interiour drawings - sorry.
  3. Thank you both Jarhead and Louvert; that reminded me of my first motorbike - a 1954 DKW with 250 ccm. To be precise: my picture shows the handle of the D.III; but should be similar or the same in the D.II?
  4. Welcome in the team, nbryant! Now we are three. Let's see, if anyone joins us 'till tomorrow. Then we should start the whole thing.
  5. Townsend has also made an earlier map, only about Jastas. Here it is: http://patriot.net/~...send/WW1AirMap/ Enter a date, and then click the button "Show". You get red dots, go with the cursor over each dot, until one of the Jastas below will turn yellow.
  6. A mission every 10 days?

Stratos, I think I was wrong with that holding the keys for acceleration - it worked that way rather accidently.
  7. Could they hear that they had found the right setting - or did they feel it?
  8. DH 5

Another good reason to love the Albatros - the tank is behind you. Imagine to have the tank in front of you, and it catches fire. But then - if it catches fire at all, forth or back - it may be your end anyway, without that chute.
  9. Yes, I'd think so, too. Lou, you said you liked the Albatros' flying behaviour. Enjoy it's good dive ability, before you will get the D.III with the fragile wings. The D.II has very stabile wings. (If the AI Nupes' wings would break in dives like the real pilot's wings, it would be a great advantage).
  10. DH 5

Well, the tank was offset from the center quite a bit. And as the pilot isn't sitting behind the wing, where he could be reached by the burning fuel, but underneath the wing, he would be in little danger to get spilled over with the petrol.
  11. Of course, only adding an emblem, a capital letter, or coloured stripes - and only who has the time. Allowance of a week must be made at least. Okay, so far there are RAF_Louvert and I. Anyone else?
  12. Perhaps this helps - I had a closer look and translated the words:
  13. Thanks for the info - sounds like it would be better to mix ammo then; you want to get enough holes into the bag. Cause as far as I remember, Buckler said, that you can flame the gas only, when it is mixed with the air surrounding the leakage. That's why the flare gun method from "Der Rote Baron" (or was it "Flyboys"?) would not work, if there were not leakages in the hit area.
  14. A mission every 10 days?

"Hat in the Ring" is more than an add-on - it was almost a new sim. If you make victories quite easily now, you will find it much harder (and more realistic) in "HitR". In OFF you could do that since HitR - you only need to make a skin - or know someone who can do that for you. Tell you what: if you get HitR, I will make you a personal Nieuport 28. Deal? Yes, they got improved wonderfully. It should work. I always create a non-Campaign pilot for QC, and then it works definitely. If you use a Campaign pilot, it could be so, that the season of his Campaign is kept - not sure.
  15. You guaranty a good read each time; I sat with my mug of freshly brewed hot coffee, and felt again like I would have liked to be there with Paul and his comrades - despite the cold weather. Next time take at least half and half normal rounds and incediary ammunition - then it should blow up, in the second run at least. From Julius Buckler's book, it sounded as if he only had incendiary ammunition belted, cause he said he couldn't really fight an enemy fighter with it. Do you know about the differences?
  16. A mission every 10 days?

Stratos, here is a link to my Graphics Setup Tutorial - there you see, where to get to "Workshops". http://combatace.com...post__p__452080
  17. A mission every 10 days?

Stratos, to get to the setup options of the sim, you need to: start the sim, and then click in the bottom right corner on "Workshop" - there you get a full screen menue where can set up an amazing lot of things. Very important are for example the "Graphics Settings" - click on that bar, to get into the Graphics setup. There you choose the right screen resolution for example. And for the time acceleration (Ctrl. + Shift + E) you must HOLD the keys down as long as you want to accelerate.
  18. A good shot, Lou! Yes, the Albatros D.II is a joyride! If you turn with Nupes or other rotaries, you will find that you can even get into their turns in LEFT ROUND turns. That's their weak spot! Keep the nose at horizon level in the turning; let them climb in turns and bleed off speed, they'll come back down sooner rather than later, and then you get them. Only if they try to climb out of a turn, I follow them climbing - and shoot them up.

You shouldn't have told him, Pol - I like boiling Northumbrians! Mmuahahahahahaaa!!!!
  20. Omaka

Yes, I am also looking forward to seeing such a giant of the early aviation. I'm as you there: I will not only escort it - I will also try to shoot it down, flying an S.E.5a or a Spad. And the "British brethren" are also mine - as a European (although it often seems they don't want to be part of Europe). Fine, original people I wouldn't want to miss.
  21. Show OFF your Desktop

Wayfarer, it is the Naval sim Bullethead created with Storm Eagles; see here: http://www.stormeagl...jutland_v2.html There is a free trial link on that page.
  22. Omaka

Rickity, be glad you found the new job - many others don't. Just write, when you can; we know you are there. I just see you changed your Avatar to "Gotha!" - do you want to fly them, or shoot them down?
  23. A mission every 10 days?

Stratos, if you hold Ctrl. + Shift + E, you should get an acceleration even with enemies near, as RAF_Louvert said. It worked for me.
  24. HW: Unfortunately Opel seems to have got all the poor ones, as I still keep having trouble with my car... Opel is American since the war - belongs to General Motors. If you want the best German car - the grey eminence of the German automobiles - you should buy an AUDI.

(J.R. Ewing type of laughter:) "Hehehe! You know Pol likes teasing - I'm afraid you will have to roast a bit longer. Hehehe!"
