Well, I have eaten some (southern) "British cuisine", which was awful; but I'd never go so far to say it all is. Polovski had once made my mouth watering with a recepy or picture of "Shepperd's Pie"; and now you mention "black puddings". I'm sure the local home made cooking could be nice. And even a well made portion of "Fish & Chips" are alright every now and then. Oh, and you people over there can frie thin cut steaks, without them getting tough! A form of art the German's do not master.

Strange coincidence: I saw in the news, that a Tiger Moth had a take-off accident on an airshow here in Germany. The craft was about one meter off the ground, when the right wing touched the runway, and the craft turned into the crowd and killed a woman.

Yes, indeed - one of those productions which are made really bad, but which still get watch so often that they may think of doing a sequel. Hopefully with more detail....

In autumn and winter I like to play games, and the best one I found in the past 5 years for me was STALKER. A special athmosphere, some good fighting, but also things to search for - it was somehow special to me. Now a friend of mine has moved to a place not far from mine, and we would like to play LAN-connected multiplayer games like the above. STALKER allows that, but it only gives you some places/arenas, and the monsters and Stalkers and Bandits are not there - you just fight each other. That was boring. I would be excited, if we could move through the STALKER world together, with everything in there that you would find as a single player. I played RAINBOW SIX Las Vegas, but that was rather police squad fighting, without the mystery; not my cup of tea. So: Does anyone know a good game, that could provide us with that?

Unbelieveable! I had never thought, that I might be able to run most sliders on 5; so I had them like this: Aircraft: 5 Terrain Detail: 3 Scenery Detail: 4 Effects Quality: 5 Clouds: 2 But then I told a friend, who is more into computers and games, that I am getting white jaggies at the screen sides, when I quickly move my head with the TrackIR clip. He gave me the advice to set all on 5. He meant, that my graphic card, an 4870, would be more than able to handle the sim; but that the processor might have additional work with deminishing the visual qualities again. Not sure, if that's true, but I tried it. Now, all on 5, I still had jaggies; but when I put "Terrain Detail" on 4, they were gone! All others are still on 5 now! If you have stutters or jaggies, you should give it a try, to set them higher instead of lower.

No fighting - just flying! And feeling like Ikarus... Jasta 2, Bertincourt, 10. September 1916 Fw. Harms Today's patrol over Masny airfield was without any enemy contact. We had sighted some FE2 pushers underway, but didn't attack them, cause we had strict orders to appear over Masny. The field had been attacked by Entente bombers twice in the last days. The joy of flying - even in a weather like this, threatening to bring a thunder storm - was wonderful! Gottschalk, Grolmann, von Kranz and Boddien kicked over the traces by flying extremely low over our tents. Hauptmann Boelke ticked them off, that we could hear it all over the field. If he never did anything like that?

Although I don't play such FPS, I must say: these videos and ArmA2 are very impressing!

Seems to be a good read of Doerflinger, Lou! I'll search for it. The name of the book aboutvon Schleich: Fried Lange: Ritter von Schleich (Jagdflieger im Weltkrieg und im Dritten Reich) It has an eagle with a Swastika on the front, and also inside it is made up like Nazi propaganda, what it actually is. Still though, it may contain enough about WW1 which is interesting to read - I'll read it using my "Anti-Nazi-Filters". I really hate the "brown hordes"! One thing that struck me was this page, showing von Schleich with the British pilot Lt. Reece, whom he had shot down. And years later, when the two met again in England. War is a strange happening...

groumf, with your graphic card, which is faster than mine, you should be able to play the sim without such problems, like me: no stutters, good FPS, fine resolution I have set sliders like this: - aircraft: 5 - terrain: 3 - scenery: 2 - effects: 5 - clouds: 5 And it works wonderfully. But OFF also needs a fast CPU. What processor do you use?
