Thank you for all the info, guys. I had thought of getting it before. Now I will bite - it has become really cheap, so it will be the Orange box.

Almost right, Lou. All subjects are written with a capital letter in German. I know from my Donald Duck books, that pancakes seem to be something you eat for breakfast in America? Tick, Trick and Track loved them, with sirup.

Sounds great - I had seen that game before, and it looked very good. What is "Steam", apart from Mr. Watt's interpretation?
-
Well, in Berlin, Kennedy's words did not sound funny, cause the Berliners call the "Berliner" a "Pfannkuchen". Only all other Germans outside Berlin call them "Berliners", whilst for them, a Pfannkuchen" is a pancake, a flat thing like an omelette. Dizzy? PS: now you may ask, what the Berliners call a pancake - I admit, I don't know.

Can that be played as multiplayer via LAN?
-
Yes, that would be so much better - no need for Labels check. Good idea, Lou - and might be possible to build.

What the heck do you Americans regard as Bismarks??? Is that a donut?

Herr Prop-Wasche's DM works fine for me and I like it.

Congratulation to this order, vyrago! I think you well deserved it.

"OFF manager.exe" disappeared
Olham replied to Jacques-Charles's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Maybe only the icon is gone faulty. You could check the drive, where the game is installed, for the "OFF Manager.exe". If it is still there, you can copy it and move it to the desktop after erasing the old icon. Then it should be clickable again. -
Good point, Bullethead. Perhaps it could be done like this: All ground installations get a number with their Labels. Now, if you fight above an army camp and shoot an opponent down, you switch Labels on for identifying the camp number and write in your report: army camp No. XY

I know, Widowmaker, but I'm searching for something more phantasy/mystery like; not the harsh reality of ground war. I heard there must be a new Sniper game, that might be interesting for you - forgot the name though.
-
Good historical lesson, Bullethead; thank you. Here is another Prussian march you might like. The "7th Cavallery", which I like, is a bit similar. (In both, the beginning is the best IMHO).

I know such "rodeo accidents"; I've had a few with my fast bicycle. Not that bad though; but you could have broken your neck or head, and so I think, your guardian angel did the best he could. I wish you perfect healing. and that you still get that degree!

High Tech Meets Old School: New Monitor and Throttle For My Off Cockpit
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks, Cameljockey! I have already chosen and ordered a monitor yesterday; this PHILIPS one: http://www.philips.co.uk/c/office-lcd-monitors/brilliance-22-w-p-line-1680-x-1050-format-1610-225p1es_00/prd/ It has a 5 inch hight adjustability, the monitor can be turned vertical (good for drawing and painting), and it had good test reports here. -
Yes, the witnesses would know, what they saw, and tell the pilot, who shot down a craft. So names should be already there; that would also avoid writing mistakes for foreign names. And if they could develop a software, that can identify descriptions, height, position and kind of the crash; and decide wether you wrote the truth or cheated - that would be great. (I know, it's shameless to ask for this much!)
-
I ditto Hellshade's recommendations. All three of them are great!
-
Yes, it's hard to cover everything with 5 questions. I recommend to the multiplayers to create an additional multiplayer poll; perhaps starting with the question: "If it was easy to do - would you play OFF in multiplayer sessions?" I'd also like to know, if it could be played in LAN sessions. You guys know what to ask - you played it. So come on - try it .

Rickitycrate, the problem with a forum poll is, that you cannot ask limitless questions; I asked the maximum of 5. You should click the time in the first question, or that you want more two-seaters.

The scramble missions are very unrealistic from an historic standpoint. Yes, surely. I like to regard them as surprise attacks during a normal takeoff for a patrol. Although, on clear days, I don't think they ever got surprised like that. They seem to have got good info from the lines, and they also used good glasses to check their surroundings.

High Tech Meets Old School: New Monitor and Throttle For My Off Cockpit
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Sure your wife is great - and of qite some tactical intelligence! I have also just received my new monitor, an LG Flatron L227WTP, but I'm not happy yet. The colours were much better on my old monitor, I think. I may send it back. -
Another Book For My WWI Aviation Library
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Lou, if you ever come across German text bits, that don't make sense to you, feel free to send me a message - I'll do my best to translate them for you. -
Pleading for Labels and other aids
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Seems to be a question of balance between the cockpit sound and environment. I would assume, that an Albatros pilot, sitting in a solid wooden craft, would feel impacts in the fuselage? -
Hey, nice to se you, vyrago, Winston and Gous! Thanks for the tip, Winston - I had never been to the multiplayer section yet.
