  2. JSGME for WOFF...

Yeah, thanks - well, I'm not THAT stupid. I meant to ask, if a mod may be written for a specific directory, so it works alright. And if so - how to change that. But it doesn't seem to matter - as long as it works. And it does.
  3. JSGME for WOFF...

You mean, I can see what directory a mod uses, and even change that? How do you do that?
  4. WOFF: Screenshots and Videos

Haha - I had deleted the second half of my sentence, cause it was so discouraging. First it read: I hope you'll survive to see the 'sacre de printemps' - but I doubt it... Mmuahahahahaaa!!! Well, seriously: I am getting better on the Albatros birds. You just need to drop all the (wrong) ways of flying these underpowered crates, as you had learned from other sims and OFF before. This now seems to be a much more serious attempt to reproduce the FMs of such aircraft, and we will not be able to helter-skelter through the skies upside down, whilst shooting down several enemy aircraft at the same time. To me it feels like the first time I ever tried flying WW1.
  5. JSGME for WOFF...

Well, in case of the "DirectX8 to 9 Converter", my directory was right - it works. Seems that is because the mod was written that way? This is all very confusing, and I think it would be great, if all mods could be written for the same path? What Corsaire said sounds logical to me...

Brrrrrr - c-c-c-cold!!! You need good stamina under such conditions. I hope you'll survive to see the beauty of spring, Corsaire!

  8. JSGME for WOFF...

It should create a MODS folder in the folder "OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields", Hauksbee.
  9. Need Joystick help

I also use SAITEK pedals, and after unbinding every undesired function, and binding everything as it should be, I have no problems.I checked it in-game. When I move the toe-brakes, no control surface reacts anymore.
  10. I got airborne in WOFF!

Welcome in the skies, Wayfarer! I also came a bit later than the rest, and I know how it feels. You should just try soome higher settings - some people reported, they got better frps, when they pushed all sliders up. My personal advice would be, put "Terrain" on "Normal" in "Workshop". Then try Aircraft: 5 Terrain Detail: 3 Scenery Detail: 3 Effects Quality: 4-5 Clouds: 5 Maybe it works better - can't promise though.

The glinting and shadowing are great for WOFF, definitely! Here are some pics from my Jasta 33 pilot, flying from Bühl-Lothringen (Buhl-Lorraine).
  12. Need Joystick help

Firecage, I guess you may have double-bindings for your control surfaces, and they interfere. Go to "Workshop" and click on "Remap Keys/Controllers". The setup menue will pop up. Select the joystick in the frame "select controller" at the right. Select your joystick, and then unbind each and every function. Then select your rudder device there (if you use one) and do the same. When you have unbound every command, you can now begin to bind all commands new, Perhaps you do the rudder first, there are not many commands. Then select the joystick again, and bind all other commands you want to be on the stick. Make sure you do not make double-bindings (but you should receive warnings anyway). good luck!
  13. Everybody must be quite busy in the early stages of 2014 - there is so little activity on our beautiful little airfield here. I hope we will keep it alive - it just requires some takeoffs and landings by all flyers here every day, to keep the grass short, and the mess alive and kicking. Come on, pilots, your everyday is surely often grey enough - add some colour to it!
  14. Hey, gee, three deep bow-downs, Sir! All I have ever played in Irish Pubs was still being sober. I used to drink lots of Guinness in Ray's Irish Bar, Berlin-Wedding.
  15. Then I guess you must know the Breton harp artist Alan Stivell - he is quite well-known by Germans of my generation.

You can say that again, Corsaire! But one pilot's death is another pilot's flying time - my Jasta 17 pilot had been resting a while in cold February grey, but now he made another sortie with two comrades. When they got jumped by two Nieuport 23, his wingman Wilhem Emmanuel Gros ("Fips") shot one down, before my pilot even knew what was going on. The other got chased away by Freiherr von Brederlow. As I said: I missed the action - so here are some pictures of peace...

Final Moment We might have been able to fight back the Nieuports, which had laid out a clever trap for us. But when I got jumped - just in that worst of all moments! - I had my first engine failure in "Wings Over Flanders Fields". And even a really bad one - the engine caught fire (said the "Simulation Warning"). As if that wasn't bad enough, the guy behind me kept firing. Strange was, that all control had gone - maybe I was dead already? However - here are the pictures of the final moment...
  19. My first skin...

Hauksbee, I guess it is not a crime to show a skin for the other sim here. But if you had just released your new sim baby, which you have worked on very hard for over 4 years, then you also might react very sensible about every such posting. I think it's understandable. I also believe it wasn't meant any bad by you.
  20. I guess the screenshot was taken from the cockpit of another Albatros. If he even zoomed in, the trailing edge of the left aileron would appear like this.
  21. One tip, Pips: "The Jasta Pilots" and "Above the Lines" will not help you much - they both don't show where he was flying early on. If you should own "Das Kriegstagebuch der Jasta ..." (The War Diary of Jasta ..." * - then you'll find him there. * number would be a spoiler...

Corsaire, I do like the shadowing and lighting glints a lot - but that ENB stuff is unrealisticly dark and over-saturised. WOFF produces a kind of haze-softened and haze-paled impression of things which are further away. I find that very realistic. But with ENB everything comes up too close - IMHO. But as the Romans said: De gustibus non est disputandum
  24. My first skin...

Must be feeling different for the Devs, who have just released their latest "baby", (which they've been pregnant with for over four years), than it feels for us? For me it's a growing playground, with first OFF and RoF, and now the new WOFF being released (and BoS in development). OFF and RoF never had much of an overlap for me - they rather complemented each other to a great WW1 aerodrome (RoF being interesting only for online flying, but pretty much dead in single player, while OFF has the most immersive single player campaigns I have ever seen - and so much historical knowledge - and the best WW1 AI ever - and, and... ). However - maybe you could try to make the same skin also for your WOFF Fokker Dr.1, Hauksbee? (Can't give advice there though - never tried to skin a Fokker Dr. 1).
