  1. Machine guns

No problem really, Creaghorn - you can put the left gun to your "cannon button" and the right gun to the "bomb relelease button" or whatever. And then there must be a command (I'm almost sure) to fire both guns simultaneously. And that command is put on the main "guns fire button".
  2. Although it was said by Fokker himself, that the Dreidecker did not really need a third wing, it seems it was not the upper one you could have left out. Strange thing here is, that not only just the fabric was ripped off, but all ribs are missing! They are broken off right behind the main wing box bar, and I wonder, if this was another damage caused by condensed water, that could not evapourate out anywhere and made the wooden parts rott?
  3. Matador, the link was written wrong, it seems - here is mine: (But you can also just scroll down the long main page). http://www.overfland...on_and_settings
  4. Machine guns

Very good points, UncleAl! When there where separate guns for the WW2 planes in CFS3 models (cannon + machine guns), then these two should be easily possible to be assigned with the Lewis and the Vickers; or the left and the right MG in the German fighters? A question for Winder, Polovski and team here. If possible to do, it would be great to have.
  5. Machine guns

Here is one of Mark Miller's great detail graphics of an Albatros D V cockpit. (For more, go to "The Aerodrome" website). You see, that the Albatros had TWO separate gun buttons, one for each 08/15 "Spandau". They could fire them single that way, as I just recently learned from our Creaghorn here.
  6. What is a "knife fighter", Lou? Here is a video of Mikael Carlson flying his Dr.1 - I enjoyed the bits, that show him close up in the cockpit in flight; gives you a feel for your next sortie with OFF! (His Dreidecker has the original engine!)
  7. Well, firstly: welcome here, Smokin256! #1: Not sure how TrackIR 1 worked. Do you have three reflectors on a base cap screen, like that? Then it should work. And you could still try and download the software for TrackIR 4 or even 5; the hardware might work with it? #2: Never noticed a problem with that (ATI RADEON X1900 and now 4870 Graphic cards) #3: The wingmen sometimes make it, sometimes not. Depends a lot on the airfield; whether there are surrounding trees or hill slopes. I had a Fokker Eindecker campaign once, and flew with landings included. Needs more time; my wingmen flew away from the field after last waypoint, and then they returned all neatly lined up, and landed, one after the other. They all made it - it was a hearttouching sight! But let me assure you: you won't find any other, more immersive sim about WW1!
  8. Check Six, my "Wolf" is not the historical pilot; mine is called Wolfram 'Wolf' Mahlo, and that is me, with my father's first name, short form: Wolf. If you still want to do the model one day, I could send you the wolf head for your decal sheets.
  9. Fine and detailed thoughts there, British_eh. And again: we should not compare the Tripe and the Dr.1 in a competative way. The Tripe entered service almost a year before the Dr.1. Seen in the light of aircraft technology development in those days, that was a long time. That becomes really obvious by comparing the 1915 Fokker E III Eindecker to the 1918 Fokker D VII or the SPAD XIII - the development in only 4 years.
  10. Machine guns

Creaghorn: look here. from 3:15 on you can see how it was like to change drums of lewis guns The Bordeauxred Baron: Crumpet technolodgy! Mmuahahahahahaaaa!!!!
  11. No, it does make sense, OvS, you can use that, too. Especially the Austrians really use it that way, but every German would also perfectly understand what you mean. It's almost a politer form of "Leck mich.."
  12. Yes, we don't say "Kiss my a$$" That would be "Küss meinen Arsch" We say : Leck (Lick) mich (me) am (at my) Arsch (arse, butt)
  13. Ernst Udet and flying

Not sure if it will be seen by everyone: he is collecting a towel from the ground with a hook they attached to his left wing. A German actress said about Udet in the 30s: "Well, our Ernst - he has made a pact with the devil, to learn to fly like this. And he must have had 20 lives. Otherwise, he would already be dead since a long time; like so many others..."
  14. Eyh? Didn't you read my last answer, OvS???
  15. Check Six, the tail motto fo the Albatros "Blue Wolf" means "Look behind you!" as if to tell his hunter, that his wingman may shoot him down any second. Sieben, the motto is from Goethe's "Goetz von Berlichingen", a knight with one artificial hand made of iron. He sais to a messenger: "Sag Deinem Herrn, er kann mich am Arsche lecken!" Which means directly translated: "Tell your lord, he may lick at my a***!"
  16. Amen to that, Creaghorn! Well said.
  17. Okay, CheckSix, then I will go through my skins and see, which one it was. I'll post here again. While "Du kannst mich mal!" is the short form of "kiss my a$$", almost polite, cause not really mentioning the three letter word directly, you can also do the full writing of it: "Leck mich am Arsch!" , which is much more crude and vulgar - your decision.
  18. Not being a technical advisor for such problems, I can only recommend to read the FAQs and advice at http://www.overflandersfields.com/
  19. ...and the live version of "And You and I" from YESSONGS...
  20. "Remember me?" is good for "Kennscht mi noch?", OvS. In high German it would be "Kennst Du mich noch?" (Do you still know me? Can you still remember me?") The way he wrote his, is Schwabenland "low German" or dialect from the area round Stuttgart. Udet's "Du doch nicht!" means "Not you, never!" with a felt laughter after it. But you're right; one can translate the meaning most correct; you'll never translate the full regional colour. My native Ostfriesisch "low German" is even an old language, with similarities to Danish, English and Dutch. When you name someone a swine or a monkey in German, you say "Du Schwein!" or "Du Affe!", which both sounds rather sharp and unpleasant. In Ostfriesisch, it is "Du swin!" or "Du ap!", which both sound, spoken, much softer, still a touch of gentleness in them. I believe, an Ostfriese hardly ever gets as harsh or sharp in a rage than a Berliner - only through his more gentle language.
  21. Verdammt nochmal! And I thought, the Alsace would be quiet!!!! But here at Habsheim and Ensisheim, the air is buzzing from Nupes!!! Flying full DiD, I didn't know, how many I had downed in an airfield def. mission over Ensisheim. So I claimed two. The review showed, I had really downed 6!!! But there where still more! My ammo was out, and I flew eights around the ground gunners, which cost them two more. But still there where two left to shoot my engine up. I just made it down in one piece! Holy Moly!!
  22. Check Six, the motto on my fighter skin was "Du kannst mich mal!" which has the meaning of "You can kiss my a§§!" In the skins download section, look for the dark blue Albatros D V or D Va with the wolf head on the sides - I think it was that one. (If not, I must have a search myself). The typestyle could have been "Chaucer". PS: here's the link http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=8899
  23. RAF_Louvert: Always a bit of shock when I'm finished and look at the clock only to discover that 3 or 4 hours have gone by. Couldn't have sung a nicer ode to the OFF TEAM, Lou, but I join your's in mind. Time flies, when you're skinning - I know that too well! And I do it like you, OvS - put some good music on and have a fresh brewed coffee near me. If you'd like something more recent than YES, but also long tunes, try ARCHIVE "Lights" - a touching record. Here's part one of that piece: But let me warn you; it starts subtle, and burns into your tracks like phosgenic ammo into canvas).
  24. 409MB!

Roger, sorry for you, but it's always wrong for some of us: when BHaH was announced, a lot of people complained about the fact, that it was NOT a download.
  25. There you see German quality, Widowmaker - which British fighter could have been landed with THAT damage??? (Well, okay, Fokker was a Dutchman - but Reinhold Platz was not). Did some Brisfit flying myself some time ago, Lou , and I must say, I felt very safe in that craft! But those Pfalz did not do the right attack on you, it seems. With a Pfalz, I would try a dive on you headon, flat enough, that Mr. Shewtum wouldn't get me.
