  1. There is the evidence: the Tommies have a secret second man on board of their S.E.5a! He is housing under the hood, between engine and pilot. (Now I must only find out, what he does there...)
  2. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 02/09/2010 06:52 h Berlin wintertime (= GMT + 1) vyrago, Manitoba, added. All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  3. OT--Are Your Feet Cold?

Bullethead, your team's number 22 scoring could even be seen on our main evening news program, although Germany doesn't know much about American football at all. This must have been a big event for New Orleans and the whole region.
  4. AI Aircraft

Well spoken, Conrad - our newbies will have to get used to him. He's an institution, no less.
  5. Don't know about Cornwall, Portugal, Greece or South Africa, but here in Berlin, the winter is holding life in an icecold grip. All that is generally covered by a German Luftwaffe-light grey sky - argghhh! But why not have a break from this? Why not fly in the sun? Do you want the mountains in Alsace in spring? Or the north sea shores in golden summer? Perhaps a base in a really nice surrounding? No problem! Just take the time to find a squadron, that fits the area you want to fly in. In the "enlist a new pilot" menue, you can now advance the time, until you are in spring or summer. Now remember the first possible date, but advance a bit more, just to make sure, they'll stay there for some time. Then go back in time to the desired start period and enlist your pilot. Once on the field, make a test flight. If you don't like the area around you, just repeat the procedure elsewhere. YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE (BEAUTYWISE): I would like to know your personal most beautiful airfield, where you like the field itself, and the surrounding landscape best. My favourites are (so far - don't know all fields yet): La Selve (Jasta 15) and Bantheville (Jasta 21)
  6. User Skins / Sub Categories etc

Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course, Widowmaker! You got it wrong; it would have to be: 1) deadly 2) deadlier 3) helldog 4) Pilot: The Bordeauxred Baron (aka: Olham) Mmuahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!
  7. I see, uncleal - maybe, that gives me an impression, why you sometimes "sound" a bit hardboiled... I only "know" Nam from the films "Deer Hunter", "Platoon" and "Apocalypse Now!" When I saw them, I was glad, I was not born on 4th of July, in the U.S.A. ... Good you made it back! Is that one of our OFF Albatros, Lou, or how did you make that?
  8. I like the shot of the S.E.5a, vyrago - long time, since I have seen one here. In case you are not in the OFF Pilots Map yet, have a look there and tell me your hometown and country; I want to add you there. (See "sticky threads").
  9. Someone here - was it Hasse Wind or Zoomzoom? - tried a water-landing with his Albatros, and wrote, that the wheels sunk in, but the fuselage was afloat like a canoe. Peferct to go for carps, pikes or bass! With an Albatros, you can get any prey!
  10. Heavens, Morris - leave some for me in 1918!
  11. Think you measure in Fahrenheit? So 43° F would still be + 5° Celsius, I assume. Should be okay - Bullethead said something about wearing three pairs of woolen socks! Should it be colder in Lousy Anna? Have you been in Viet Nam, if I may ask?
  12. Carrick, I am there, a bit later in Habsheim, Jasta 16, in April 1917. Wonderful area! Here is a screenshot of my first kill - that's what they call "Engine out", I suppose.
  13. OT--Are Your Feet Cold?

Must we get worried about VooDoo now, Bullethead? Seems, hell did freeze over down there in your area, and now the Saints won the Superbowl? If I remember right, their motto means, freely translated: "Who should that be, to beat the Saints?" (more or less - the meaning counts; it's Patois-coloured). Big congrat to New Orleans' football team!!!
  14. HOLY COW!..watch this!

The Belgian plane could be a Hanriot. The "Siemens Schuckert" looks very similar.
  15. Always thought, you don't know winter cold at all down in Florida, uncleal ? What the temperature there now? Alsace I have yet to learn to know, Lou - any specific airfield name for me?
  16. Scrambles in OFF

Forgot this: when you are "paused", mark one of the enemy planes in TAC, and then switch through outside views (F4 repeatedly), until you see the craft. Although otherwise a cheat, you can regard it here as an early warning call from the trenches, telling you who comes for lunch. Thanks for the info about non-warning raids, RAF_Louvert - like always: good and detailed knowledge, Sir.
  17. Scrambles in OFF

The scrambles are rather an entertaining interlude - in real life, the squadron would have either been warned early enough to get airborne and could have climbed, or they would have remained on the ground, in a shelter. It is suicidal to go up, when enemy fighters are crossing over your field. In your first case, did you have the TAC on? Maybe you missed high flying two-seaters? I recommend for "scrambles": press "pause" and switch on TAC, to check, who is knocking. That's no cheat, cause in RL they would have known long before, how many enemies where underway, and which aircraft type they flew. Now, if you see, you can take up the fight do it - if not, give it a miss, and live to fight another day.
  18. AI Aircraft

A lovely ode to our Unc - wonder if he will fit through his bedroom door tonite.
  19. AI Aircraft

Akmatov and Bandy, this ain't ANY rude gruntler to be banned or disciplined; this is UncleAl - the institution for such behaviour. But don't worry - he's the only one...
  20. started a new Fokker E.III career

Wow, Waldemar, 11 victories in the wing warper - that's quite an impressive success! Makes me want to try it again. I am mostly an "Albatros driver", but one day I want to try and follow Udet's footsteps (not quite the right picture for a pilot). Try and open his log another day. Sooner or later, the medals will appear again. What will be your next craft?
  21. I'm back

Welcome back, Roger! Not sure if you noticed: the add-on "Hat in the Ring" is released since a while; with new planes, AI and workshop settings. If you're interested, best see at www.overflandersfields.com Apart from that, it may not help you much to remember how the Nupe 11 is flown. There will be Albatros on the other side...! Mmuahahahahahaaaa!!!!
  22. AI Aircraft

As our resident diplomat has already noted...
  23. Bordeauxred Baron: Yes, zatt's vott zey arr zere for! Mmuahahahahaaaa!!!! What is your base, Carrick? I want to check and perhaps fly near there.
  24. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 02/07/2010 17:46 h Berlin wintertime (= GMT + 1) belgianpilot, Belgium, added. All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  25. AI Aircraft

Indeed, Rickitycrate - I never thought about that - that isn't granted in other sims! Welcome, Akmatov! 1. If you have got OFF already, please send me a PM with your hometown and country for our OFF Pilots Map. 2. If you haven't got it: get it! (And then continue with No. 1) If you are interested in WW1 air combat aviation, you are absolutely right here! (And I don't get paid for saying that! Hey, Devs - that's an idea... Lol!)
