Thirty years without Sushi? What a discipline! I couldn't keep it up.
  2. OT: District 9

Yes, good ones truely, UncleAl! I believe, that films like Solaris or Pandorum don't go so well, cause they question our sanity under extreme situations. And that is agonizing to watch, cause when you can't trust your own oppinion about a situation, you might be mad - a tantalising situation, not easy to bear. That's why I didn't like the late David Lynch (who's "Blue Velvet" was a masterpiece) - it is about shizophrenia; no pleasure to watch (at least for me).

And for the SciFi Fun part: Men in Black and Galaxy Quest. Moon looks promising
  4. UnknownPilot, as you can't see my face when I'm joking, I added that Smiley.

Men of good taste here! "Blade Runner", "Alien" - and the ultimate SF picture still today: 2001 A Space Odyssey Good choice, Rabu! And thanks for the link. I also liked "The Fifth Element" (or how is it called in English) with Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman and that cute alien (forgot her complicated name!)

Those are the advantages of the young - that they LIKE to watch oppressive, dark drama like "Apocalypse Now!" without getting too worried. When I saw that movie first, I walked out of the cinema - I found it unbearable to watch grown up men turned into fence climbing monkeys by a helicopter full of Playmates. And the scene, where Captain Willard burns the face of his girl out a photo with his cigarette, thinking: "All the time I dreamt of going home on leave, until I really did - and realised, I could never come home again..." was so desperately hopeless... In other words: yes, a very good movie! But come on and show some humour, young men: Arnie in "Terminator 2" was a good popcorn show movie with good "Äkschnn!" and humour. If you can't follow that - well, that's the advantage of being older.
  7. The Sim I used to play before OFF

SDOE - HASP - WFP - I realise I must have missed a lot in the past!!
  8. Welcome, Javie! Even with "dead is dead" setting, the sim decides, whether you died of a crash or not. That does not always happen in a believeable way (like in your cloud case), but maybe in a future version. From your last bit, it looks as if you fly without a joystick? If so - that is something you should change quickly. You need a stick for really piloting such a craft, and rudder was very important. So either get a decent twist stick, where you control rudder by twisting it, or get pedals (but that is of course more expensive). The Thrustmaster T.Flightstick X works alright for me, and it's only about 30,- Euro. And when you REALLY get into LOVING this early combat, you should get the view devise "TrackIR Pro" one day. It's about 125,- Euro, but worth every cent - you feel like you are really in the cockpit, looking around. Oh, and please give me your hometown and country/state for the OFF Pilots map, okay?
  9. The Sim I used to play before OFF

Graceful butchery, accompanied by Bach's powerful Toccata and Fuge in D - seems to fit. A but heavy though. What was SDOE ? Looking like fun, but maybe more arcade type?
  10. Some Photos of theGreat War

Fine pictures, Von Paulus, thanks for sharing!

Well, the zenit of motion picture technology PLUS good adventure story, plus the miracle, that it made believeable a deep sympathy and gratefulness between a gorilla and a woman, was the incredible "KING KONG". Best "big picture show" I have seen since "Lord of the Rings" (so there I am again, hoping that the same director will hopefully make a WW1 air combat movie! Peter?)
  12. OT: District 9

Oh, thanks for your advice, Gous - I had almost gone to spend 12,- Euro on "Avatar". But when you say, it's crapp, I'll wait and watch it with a friend, who has an almost- cinema-wide screen and Surround Sound. (Although - my VISTA works fine! OFF on it too. A question of recent updates, perhaps?)
  13. RAF_Louvert: I would love the chance to lead a squadrillia of Caproni Ca.3 bombers north to wreak havoc on some Hun real estate Yeah, and I would love to fly an Albatros D III OEFAG and shoot your lot down, before you can do so. BTW, did the Italians have good own fighter craft? PS: we're hijacking this thread. perhaps we should start a new one called "Flying over Italy" ?
  14. Looking so great indeed, Lou! Oh, I hope some day we will also have Austrian and Italian squadrons.
  15. Ah, I see - but the landscapes, are they from CFS3?
  16. Hey, I didn't know we had a map as far as northern Italy, von Guber! Great pictures, nice area! So, would it be possible to involve N Italy into a future OFF version? Austria vs Italy?? Would be great - Albatros D III OEFAG !
  17. IV/JG1_Kaiser had posted this link to superb pictures of the building of the Albatros D V at the "Vintage Aviator" (thanks again, Kaiser!) I think, it should be shared by all who like the restauration or replica building of WW1 birds. And as it was painted in colours of Jasta 5, especially for OvS, the "Black Baron of Boistrancourt". Enjoy! http://thevintageavi...a/build-gallery (Each section has lots of pictures, just click on the section pic to get there. Click on each pic to enlarge. You will get professional quality pics!)
  18. OvS, if I may continue your dream: it would be great, if you climbed one of those 5 birds, and I another, and we could fly the patrol together! Itifonhom, of course you are welcome in the club!
  19. Aaaaahhhhh!!!!! Did I EVER mention it: I LOVE Albatros!
  20. Heeeeyyy!!! Peter Jackson!!! Do you see those lovely birds? (Then - please - make a good WW1 air combat movie with them now!!!)
  21. Wow, the first one is some very close action! Good to see you are alive and kickin' a*s, Cameljockey!
  22. Morris, could you give us a link? Can one watch it in the web, or is it only a download link?
  23. Here's the link to a diorama (photos), wonderfully built - with an athmosphere I could really feel in to. You almost wished to be sitting by that oven with a mug of coffee, looking at the Albatros. http://www.electronicaviation.com/articles/Hobby/107
  24. Yeh, dream on, boy! (Until splintering wood, shredded fabric and boiling oil from your screaming engine will wake you up - Mmuahahahahahaaaaa!!!)
