See these female aviation pioneers !

Tch! You won't get me into a discussion about taste with a Crumpet! What about this one then?! -
'Red Baron' movie finally gets U.S. release
Olham replied to SGCSG1's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
SGCSG1, the movie is quite good, if you just imagine, it is another German Jasta. Don't expect it to be the historical MvR at all, but another Staffelführer, and you will be fine. The computer generated flying scenes are much more realistic than in "Flyboys". -
Wonderful photography of Gerhard Schmid at "Airventure" website. A whole page for Jasta 11, but also many more. Enjoy! http://www.airventure.de/classicfighters07_1.htm

Well, Pink is associated to the gay people in Germany, since the Nazis forced them to wear a pink star on their clothing. You couldn't know that. Before that, in WW1, it might have been used without any such prejudice, as this almost-pink on a Fokker D VII shows (argh!!). In other countries, pink may just be a - rather female? - colour? German babies are often dressed light blue for boys, and pink for girls. Personally, I dislike pink very much and would never use it for painting my craft; my favourite colours are blue and orange (which was not available in those days, as far as I know - I think a wider use of orange paint did not come up until the 70s).

Wonderfull find, nbryant, thanks for sharing!

From super models > model destruction > chimney fires > obsidian darts > Super model Mata Hari (not "hairy" !) > viaducts > chickens > Fords > tunnels > Gen-X > surgery > Magnet Resonance Imaging - all in just 40 posts - that's OFF Forum at it's best! Good one. Lou - if they'd send your metal plate with that text into outer space, aliens would learn a lot about how we human beings are thinking, talking and understanding in our everyday life!

Well, here is at least the trailer for Jackson's movie;

Here is a nice EDUARD model from this page: http://www.us-aircra...allerypart2.htm

For Germans: In AMAZON I found this one for 130,- Euro http://www.amazon.de...63559275&sr=8-1 For Dutch and German pilots: http://shop.rightthi...d6f1d7023ea8d00 You can order this TrackIR 4 Pro, and then download the software for the Pro 5. In my case it works very well.

TrackIR 5 Pro at American AMAZON for 120,- Dollar http://www.amazon.co...63550156&sr=8-2 If you REALLY love flying WW1 air combat - OFF of course - you can't do anything wrong. Sell a kid or your granny, job in the supermarket, Don't eat out for three months, Don't order pizzas or other junk for a while - whatever you must do to get it - DO IT! The experience is, after a short time of getting used to it - like REAL FLYING; you ARE the pilot in the cockpit, and you look around and down at the world beneath - the closest you can get to flying!

One day, one of these guys will breed a Humunculus small enough to wear a pilots suit, helmet, goggles and gloves made by our modeller, and to fit into his model. Bullet, I destroyed my WW2 models age of 19, when I realised, how bad they where. I fitted lots of firework into them, set them up in the garden, poured traces of benzin to connect the firework and set it alight. I wished I could have had a video cam to make a nice slo mo of it all. My mother was seriously worried about my mental state those days, I remember. It was short - but it was great fun.

Check Six, here is a link to Wavans British Cemetry, Pas de Calais, France. Robert Alexander Little is buried there, as I found in The Aerodrome site. Here is also a link to a picture of his headstone. http://www.ww1cemeteries.com/ww1frenchextension/wavans.htm http://www.theaerodr...nes/little1.php And this is a link to a page at The Aerodrome, about the grave of Roderic Dallas: http://www.theaerodr...h-cemetery.html The Aerodrome is an incredible source of material all around and about WW1 air combat. I am always again amazed about what I can find there; and you may well find more.

Yep; and tomorrow, Lt. Jeschonnek will get up in the D II, to down some Nupes. Seems about time! -
Just read, there where at least three different Rolls Royce engines powerwise in the Brisfit? I think it varied from 190 hp to 220 or even 240 hp?
-
Man, this model can really introduce you to the details of the craft better than most photos I saw. A very good modeller's work!
-
Well, arhm - yes. (See my latest screenshots - I downed three N 24 from Esc.78).

On today's patrol in our back lands with Jasta 21, two flights of Nieuport 24 from Escadrille 78 where crazy enough to jump at our two flights. While Rudolf Mathaei, Emil Thuy and two wingmen fought further ahead, 4 Nupes came down on my flight of 5 Albatros D V. While we lost two craft, all our Nupes got wiped out. I got almost shot up twice by Emil Thuy, and if he should ever do this again, I'll shoot him down. -
You won't find me flying a pink war bird. I have better ways to shock my opponents. Like twin Spandaus and a thousand rounds - mmuahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!
-
Great job, OvS and Makai! Especially pic 2 and 5 are looking very good, and may be the skin for me to choose, to get my bum into that good fighter.
-
Oh yes, my friend and north-sea-neighbour! Fortunately, I have a second Albatros for my use, the ammo is mounted, tank is filled, and we'll start soon! Well, yes, the Christmas time in Norden was nice - but my trouser's size changed from 33/34 to 34/34, I'm afraid. So my typical New Year's Pledge is: more jogging, more fitness, less fast food. (Let's see, how long it may last).

Film about the 94th Aero Squadron in France
Olham replied to Von Paulus's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks, Lou! -
You guys are incredible! You really had me worried there for a second, when I read the thread's title, cause it sounded, as if you where missing me, almost sad. But far from that! Now, it's okay, that you had a nice party with my drinking supplies, and a tea cup as a logo is acceptable for an Englishman or an Ostfriese, surely. But when I find out, who painted my Albatros pink - boy, you better catch a SPAD or an S.E.5a, and fly away from that pink dot approaching you, cause otherwise I will fire pink tracers from my pink Spandaus, until you are a pink cloud!!! Mmuahahahahahahahaaaaaaa!!!!

Superb footage! Great N28 scenes, and first time I saw Rickenbaker on film. Thanks for sharing! Does anyone know a link for the Anthony Fokker Film in the Spielberg Archive, where you can see the film in full screen size?
