That must connect you more to WW1 air combat and OFF, to have this top ace's grave so near. I may visit Berlin cemetries soon, to see, which graves are still there.

Already now, I have the feeling that it wasn't a good idea to book 14 days. Seven days would have done! And then in this lousy wheather season! In a town, that seems to have shrunk since the days of youth like a pullover that's been washed too hot! Gah!! Hope you guys won't run Jasta 6 and FA(A) 250 down in our DiD campaign, while I'm on leave. Grmbl!! 14 days - in words: fourteen! without OFF !! I'll have to learn flying again after that! Everybody will be able to shoot me down like nothing! Mpff!!! Okay, you got it now - it's a family duty rather than happy holidays. See you all next year! Have a good start into a happy, sound and prosperous 2010 everyone!

Can I survive fourteen days without OFF ?
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thank you all! Now it's time - here are last action pictures titled "Olham goes forth" -
Welcome, Luther! If you can imagine to fall in love with direct, simple aviation plus close air combat, without radio and radar, and with rather poor power-to-weight ratio crates - in other words: if you can and want to fight like a man - then you'll love it!!! Please send me a PM with your town and address; I'll add you to the OFF Maps (see the stickies above). But I can only do so, when I'm back in two weeks.

My gunner needs a kick up the arse
Olham replied to JimAttrill's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes, UncleAl - I always envy you for your rockets. Should be fun to devastate a whole hangar. Tell yer what - when I'm back in Berlin, I'll start an Entente campaign, where they give me those fireworks. -
Can I survive fourteen days without OFF ?

Thanks, all! I'm packing the case. Do I have my pyjama? Which book should I take? Where's my ticket? Do I have my glasses? Mustn't forget the electric toothbrush! Are the windows all closed? Where's my mobile phone? And the loading device?! Count down two hours from now on. Then we'll leave the trench... -
It's installed like a patch. Simple as that - no problems for me. Get the patch for it, too, and you're there.

Zoomzoom, it went fine the first try (fortunately - I had used my campaign pilot!). Perhaps you need to correct a bit yourself, but it worked. And I knew it would, somehow. Wouldn't dare it with a Camel though...

Changing Personal skin in campaign
Olham replied to hughesyman's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Okay, just in case you got it wrong (cause there is another aircraft folder, that isn't the right one). The skins go here: (your game folder) > Campaigns > campaign data > skins (I'm pretty sure you did so, but just to make totally sure.) -
And my wingmen also need a kick up the arse
Olham replied to JimAttrill's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hmmm - I never have that happening. When I turn into a fight, they usually drift on a bit, before they also come round. As long as the fighting isn't too tough, I never order "attack" for them; so they all follow like a comet's tail. When it gets tough, I press "help" sometimes, and maybe "attack", but then I make sure to stay high. A furball is too much to controll for everyone - it calls for accidents. -

Make sure you saved it with an own name, and not as "default". -

Interesting and intelligent argument, UncleAl; that's why I never attack buildings, and vehicles only occasionally. -
Although I'm not sure, if we are able to "confuse" the AI, it sounds good as a manoeuvre. Did you find out yourself about the letting her go, or did you read it anywhere, Zoomzoom? It sounds like a manoeuvre I must try with the Fokker E.V

I had a worm on my new rig recently, someting with "win32.bason" in it's name. Not sure if it was responsible, but sometimes my TrackIR would not react, unltil I did like you. But it seems, KASPERSKI Anti Virus has cleared that now.

OT: RC plane vs. kids with fireworks
Olham replied to Schnitzel von Krumm's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
My first thought watching this was, how it seems to show a picture to the sentence: "On a long enough timeline, the chance to survive the air combat in WW1 went towards zero." When will one hit, I thought all the time. -
Belgian Ace Jan Olieslagers Camel Now Available
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Italy and Russia may be 'some bridges too far', as the CFS3 world/map doesn't reach that far. But the Belgian fields Les Moeres, Coxyde (now Koksijde) and La Panne (now: De Panne) - all west of Brügge - and the field at Moerkerke further east, where used at various times in WW1. See here (click away the German and British sign, choose "by aerodrome" - the dots are very pale, but if you move your cursor over them, you get the Escadrilles and times of service there). http://patriot.net/~...end/WW1AirMap2/ -

He did, Lou, he did. "Onkel Theo" actually also flew fighters in WW2. The damage model seems to show, how the wings of the E.V come off completely - maybe this happens, when we dive her too fast? -
Depending on what crates you fly mostly, you may have to change your flying style. If someone is familiar with the Dr.1, the E.V should be easier for him to aim with, and a bit trickier in turning. Both, the E.V and the Nieuport 28, can either - do a fast turn banked hard, using elevator and ailerons - but almost no rudder; or - do a soft turn with use of much or full rudder, but only banked max. 30/40° For a quick change of direction, the N 28 can use the hammerhead (right word, Lou?), where you pull up quite steep until you loose speed, and then give her full rudder (find out, to which side works better), until she has turned round for 180° and goes back down again in the opposite direction. Haven't tried it on the E.V yet, but I guess, she should also be able to use this.

You could try to switch your TAC to "buildings" or "vehicles", and then mark a target with a yellow bracket - then press "wingmen attack" (see: "Controlls"). If that won't work, he may just not be supposed to attack ground targets. -
Roland DII and other needed planes for the next add-on
Olham replied to depalmer's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
RAF_Louvert: Johan's idea of including some of the heavy bombers as AI would be excellent just so we could have the opportunity to attack them in the campaigns... Indeed - that would raise the immersion AND the fun factor, to attack and bring down the "Real Big Ones". -
My Contribution to Belgium
Olham replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The province Antwerpen has a flag with red/white checker in it (plus yellow/blue checker). And the province Vlaams-Brabant has a shield in it's arms, that is red and white. See here - unfortunately, the English site is different made. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flandern Click on the Provinces in the table near the bottom. -

Well, just for the fun factor, I would pick the Siemens Schuckert D III for German fighters. Although not really fast, it had an excellent climb, which made it a good interceptor, and it would get the pilot out of trouble by climbing away. The German Wikipedia gives much more information than the English, so I give you that link here. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siemens-Schuckert_D.III The French should get the Morane Parasol and the N type. -

A "dark knight's" plane - looking really frightening; I like it!
